Half a month has passed since the incident with the bandits of Dalian Mountain. Hong Xiaoduo has accepted that she has killed someone. She is not thinking about how to be more careful when she encounters similar situations in the future, and try not to cause any more deaths.
They had no intention of giving up entirely; since things were already like this, they figured if they encountered any more unforgivable villains in the future, they would just send them straight to the underworld.
She had thought it through quite clearly; if she encountered similar situations or people again in the future, she would just let things take their course.
If there are too many bad guys, she simply can't take care of them all.
If she were in such a dangerous situation, and still had to worry about not killing anyone, or which part of the bad guy to hit to incapacitate him without killing him, she would probably get injured herself.
So the most important thing is to protect yourself. Why worry so much about bad people?
Hong Xiaoduo successfully overcame this hurdle in her heart, and continued to eat as usual, still being the last one to get up in the morning.
Quan Jinghuai, the teacher of the seven children, seems to have returned to normal.
Only Quan Jinghuai knew that he was still not quite at ease inside.
He knew the saying that there are always mountains beyond mountains and people beyond people, and he could accept the fact that someone younger than him, who was also a woman, was better at martial arts than him.
However, what he couldn't understand was that this young woman herself said she didn't know kung fu. Whether she used hidden stones or whipped a tree trunk in half, the moves she used were really just ordinary and casual movements.
Whenever Quan Jinghuai takes a break and inadvertently sees the sword at Hong Xiaoduo's waist, he can't help but recall that afternoon half a month ago when he asked her about her swordsmanship and her response.
Upon hearing her own words, she looked down at the sword at her waist, then reached out, grasped the hilt, and with a swift motion, drew the sword, before quickly sheathing it again.
Then say to him, "That's it!"
It took him a while to realize that what she meant was the two actions of drawing the sword and putting it back in its sheath—those were the sword techniques she knew.
So now, every time Quan Jinghuai sees the sword at her waist and thinks about her response, he feels conflicted and hesitant. He wants to ask her if she wants to learn swordsmanship from him.
But then I thought, she's already better than me even without learning, how could I possibly teach her?
The key point is that she doesn't seem to have any intention of properly learning swordsmanship.
That's true. With just a pebble she can pick up anywhere and a whip at her waist, she's already invincible and has no rivals. Why bother learning a sword? She can just hang it at her waist as an accessory.
"Master, do you really like my mother's sword?" Tianquan noticed his master looking at the sword at his mother's waist again and couldn't help but ask in a low voice.
When Quan Jinghuai came to his senses, he didn't know how to answer his disciple's question for a moment. He was about to say that he was studying the patterns on the scabbard and guessing which swordsmith had made it.
Tianquan whispered again, "Master, it's no use if you like it. Mother also likes that sword very much, and she won't give it to you. But when I grow up and save up enough money, I will definitely help Master find a peerless sword."
Hearing his disciple's words, Quan Jinghuai felt misunderstood, but he was very moved: "Alright, Master is waiting for the peerless sword that Tianquan will send."
"Hahaha, that's great!" A sudden burst of joy from the side disrupted the deep bond between master and disciple.
"Mother, what's wrong?" Everyone looked at the surprised Hong Xiaoduo, and Yaoguang was the first to ask.
Hong Xiaoduo blurted out, "It's going to rain tomorrow night." She was about to collect her seventh water sample; how could she not be excited!
After hearing her words, the eight disciples plus Fei Yan couldn't help but look at each other. They weren't farmers waiting for rain after a long drought. If it rained, it would be inconvenient to travel. Why were they so happy?
Seeing everyone's expressions, Hong Xiaoduo realized she had lost her composure: "Spring rain is like poetry; it dyes the earth green and awakens the sleeping flowers. The delicate raindrops gently caress the earth, bringing life to the land."
Soon, we saw many beautiful flowers along the way: pink peach blossoms, pink and white pear blossoms, and all sorts of wildflowers. How wonderful!
"Mother, it seems like spring hasn't started yet. Is the rain now spring rain? It should be considered winter rain, right?" Tianxuan interjected curiously.
"Huh? There's no Spring Equinox yet? Then it really can't be called Spring Rain. I was confused and said the wrong thing." Hong Xiaoduo quickly admitted her mistake.
She didn't actually feel embarrassed; she just wanted to collect water samples. She didn't care whether it was winter or spring rain, and the space requirements weren't specified either. As long as it was rainwater, it was fine.
Tian Shu glared at Tian Xuan. "You can read now and understand the calendar? You think you're so smart? What are you showing off for?"
After being glared at by her older brother, Tianxuan belatedly realized that she was wrong and shouldn't have corrected her mother's mistake.
Somewhat nervously, Chao Hong looked at her mother and saw that she didn't seem angry!
Just as Hong Xiaoduo was about to say something more, she heard Old Man Luo's voice and quickly told everyone that she was going to sleep first.
After saying that, he hurriedly went into the tent. Hong Xiaoduo had no idea how long it had been since Old Man Luo had connected with her. She wondered if he had come online now and unlocked the key set by his father.
After watching Hong Xiaoduo enter the tent, Tian Shu gestured for Tian Xuan to come to the side with him.
"Big brother, please don't scold me. I know I was wrong. I'll be more careful next time." Before Tian Shu could speak, Tian Xuan quickly apologized.
Just now, Mom rushed into the tent to say she was going to sleep, probably because I had embarrassed her by correcting her mistake earlier! Tianxuan really regretted it!
