Chapter 350 Let's do it together!

Wei Junpei glanced at Murong Jing, then at Dong Xiang's youngest son. He was quite a clean-cut young man after being released from prison, but he was still somewhat inferior to the son of the Marquis of Fu'an.

But Kaiyang calls him uncle. If he has the ability to keep Xiaoduo, becoming Kaiyang's aunt doesn't seem so bad! Calling that girl aunt is better than calling her mother.

"Sixth Young Master, you just returned from Huguo Temple and came to wait for Xiaoduo, didn't you? You didn't even have lunch, did you?" Wei Junpei asked with an elder's smile.

Upon hearing this, both Dong Yuefan and Mu Rongjing looked at Lord Wei.

Dong Yuefan felt that the reason why Lord Wei spoke to her so intimately was mainly because Kaiyang called her uncle.

Mu Rongjing clenched her fingers under her sleeves and slowly looked at Hong Xiaoduo. She was also very happy to see this boy!

"Lord Wei." Dong Yuefan suddenly realized that she had been very impolite not to greet him first, so she quickly composed herself and greeted him.

Lord Wei smiled and nodded, which was his response.

"Brother Dong, have you had lunch yet?" Hong Xiaoduo asked again from the side.

Dong Yuefan smiled and shook her head, saying, "I had a vegetarian meal at Huguo Temple this morning, and I also ate some snacks on the way back, so I'm not hungry now."

“Uncle, then we won’t go back with you for now,” Hong Xiaoduo said to Lord Wei.

"Go ahead, go ahead," Lord Wei nodded and smiled.

"Xiao Duo, my parents want to host a banquet at the mansion to thank you for saving me. I wonder if you have other plans?" Dong Yuefan asked hurriedly.

Hong Xiaoduo smiled and said, "No, it's just that our relationship doesn't really need to be like this."

"Xiaoduo, you don't know, her father mentioned this to me yesterday. Because he has to receive the delegation, he can't be sure of the exact time, and he's afraid you'll be in a hurry to leave."

"You should go, otherwise his parents will feel bad," Lord Wei said from the side.

Hearing Lord Wei speak up for her, Dong Yuefan gratefully clasped her hands in a fist salute to Lord Wei: "Lord Wei, my father instructed that once Xiaoduo's situation is confirmed, we should also come to your residence to invite you."

"I have other matters to attend to this evening, so I won't go. I'm in the capital anyway, and there will be plenty of opportunities to go in the future," Lord Wei said with a smile, declining the offer.

It's a family banquet held to thank someone for their kindness; go and figure out what's going on!

Just then, the carriage from the Wei family arrived. Seeing his grandfather get into the carriage, Kaiyang looked anxiously at Hong Xiaoduo beside him. Uncle Yuefan had said that he was hosting a banquet for his mother and had also asked his grandfather, but he hadn't mentioned him!

"What, don't you want to go to Uncle Yuefan's house for a big meal?" Hong Xiaoduo asked, suppressing a laugh as she looked at the child's reaction.

"Yes, I do." Kaiyang replied immediately. He didn't care about the big meals; he just wanted to be with his mother while she was in the capital.

The carriage from the Dong family arrived, while the carriage from the Wei family departed.

Hong Xiaoduo helped Kaiyang onto the carriage first. As she stepped onto the stool to enter the carriage herself, she remembered something and turned around to look at him: "Young Master, aren't you coming with us?"

“Young Master Mu is a favorite of His Majesty, he certainly doesn’t have time to stroll around with us,” said Dong Yuefan, who was about to board the carriage.

I didn't have a close relationship with this prince, let alone a friendship, but we never had any unpleasant encounters.

However, Dong Yuefan and her friends had always used this person as an example to criticize them when they were being lectured by their elders. Therefore, they couldn't bring themselves to like this outstanding role model among their peers and even felt a bit resistant to him.

“Alright, I’m quite free today, let’s go together.” Mu Rongjing said as he stepped forward.

The carriage slowly headed towards the south gate, because Hong Xiaoduo said they hadn't explored that area yet.

Inside the carriage, looking at Murong Jing sitting opposite him, he couldn't help but want to say something, but then he thought that this guy had also helped him get out of prison, and he couldn't be ungrateful.

"By the way, didn't a foreign delegation come today? How did you two end up in the palace? Did you see them? Seeing you and those blond-haired, blue-eyed people, was Kaiyang scared?" Dong Yuefan asked, remembering the occasion.

The day after his release from prison, he was taken by his two elderly grandmothers to Huguo Temple to fulfill a vow before returning home. Therefore, he was unaware that Xiaoduo had entered the palace to help the Ministry of Rites out of a predicament and served as a temporary interpreter.

Mu Rongjing waited quietly, wanting to hear how Hong Xiaoduo would respond.

"I just heard from Lord Wei that the interpreter at the Ministry of Rites' Bureau of Foreign Affairs suddenly became unable to speak, and his deputy had gone back to his hometown, so I just helped them out," Hong Xiaoduo said casually.

"Oh, is that so? No wonder. Wait a minute?" Dong Yuefan thought she understood, but then suddenly stopped, looking at Hong Xiaoduo with great confusion. After thinking for a moment, she said, "The interpreter can't speak. Are you going to help him? Help him diagnose the interpreter? You're not a doctor."

He paused here, looking at Hong Xiaoduo and Kaiyang with a smile: "Really? You don't actually know medicine, do you?"

Murong Jing, who was standing to the side, couldn't help but shake his head, thinking to himself, "What a simpleton."

However, thinking about it, if I hadn't witnessed it firsthand, I would probably have the same reaction and guesses as Dong Yuefan!

"Brother Dong, you've guessed wrong. I don't know any medical skills; I just happen to understand that foreign language. Kaiyang is also learning it, so this is a rare opportunity to bring him here to put it into practice."

As it turns out, Kaiyang learned well, and I, as his teacher, taught well too, hahaha.” Hong Xiaoduo laughed as she said this.

"What? Foreign languages? You understand them? Kaiyang is learning them too? Xiaoduo, you really know foreign languages? Kaiyang knows them too? Are you the interpreter today?" Dong Yuefan's eyes widened in shock.

“Today’s temporary interpreter is our little Kaiyang, and I’ll just fill in the gaps later.” After Hong Xiaoduo finished speaking, she reached out and patted Kaiyang’s little shoulder, who was sitting next to her.
