Chapter 52 Two?

From what the other person said, she also understood one thing: the fact that the other person was so sure that there were several children in the donkey cart meant that they had secretly observed the area during the day.

The initial tension caused by the danger was quickly dispelled by a surge of anger. "Despicable scoundrel! He can't handle a real fight, so he resorts to such underhanded tactics!"

"There's another pretty girl here. Let's tie her up and hide her away first. After we're done, we'll have some fun."

"Yes, we can't let them all know, otherwise, how will it be our turn to try it out?"

Speaking such filthy and vulgar words so close to the donkey cart, along with that lewd laughter, was like pouring gasoline on Hong Xiaoduo's anger; she was furious.

He raised his hand and gently pressed it on the donkey's forehead, as if to ask it, "Little donkey, for the sake of the children's good care of you, please, no matter what happens later, don't be frightened and run away and hurt the children!"

Then, regardless of whether the donkey could understand her meaning, it lifted its foot and took two steps back from the cart.

That's exactly what happened; we ran into those two thugs.

The two were startled, but Hong Xiaoduo ignored them and acted as if they didn't exist. She circled the donkey cart and vaguely saw several dark figures running forward from different directions. The only ones she could confirm near the donkey cart were these two bastards.

Just two? Okay, she can handle that.

The two men in black were quite surprised to see her like this. She was clearly just a young woman who didn't know martial arts, yet she was so calm.

"Young lady, we know you weren't originally with that old man Wei, so, how about we lend you two children?" a man in black asked with a grin.

"And then?" Hong Xiaoduo asked, observing the two bastards. They had actually put their swords back in their sheaths! How confident were they? How little did they take her seriously?

Upon hearing this, the two men in black exchanged a glance. "And then? You take the other children and hide in the woods. We'll deal with that old man surnamed Wei and come back to find you. Serve us well. If you serve us well and we're satisfied, we'll return the children we borrowed to you, and then we won't make things difficult for you. We'll let you go."

“We’re trying to have a proper talk with you. If you don’t know what’s good for you, all of us brothers will make fun of you tonight, and then you and these little brats will lose your lives here,” another man in black said with a wicked smile.

Upon seeing the young woman's face up close, the two men in black suddenly felt that this mission was absolutely worthwhile.

Otherwise, given their status in the gang, the respectable women they abducted were usually already near death by the time it was their turn.

Look at this pretty young lady in front of me, she even has a sword at her waist, she looks quite adorable!

Hong Xiaoduo knew there was a saying: "He who strikes first gains the upper hand, he who strikes last suffers the consequences."

Even though she had already fought with someone three times, it was always the other party who struck first. In her haste, she didn't have time to think before she made her move.

These two scoundrels in front of her have been spewing vulgarities at her without actually making a move, and she doesn't know how to make a move, which one to hit first, or how to deal with them.

If it weren't for the fact that I'm not very good at dealing with these kinds of people and things, I wouldn't have let them be disgusting until now.

The other person was dressed in black, and the mask around his neck was not pulled up to cover his face. His lewd smile and eyes made Hong Xiaoduo feel a chill. She could no longer bear it, so she raised the whip in her hand and lashed it across the face of the person closest to her.

"Wearing a human skin, yet not speaking human language," she cursed as the whip lashed out.

Her attack was so sudden that by the time the other party reacted and tried to dodge, it was too late. The whip tip, accompanied by a gust of wind, struck the other party's face. The next moment, a scream rang out, and the person staggered back two steps in pain, covering their face with one hand and reaching for the hilt of the knife at their waist with the other.

Huh? This thing is that powerful?

In a moment of disbelief, Hong Xiaoduo raised her hand and struck the other person's arm that was drawing the knife, and with another blow, the screams grew even louder.

Another man in black, who was a step behind his companion, was equally incredulous. He had watched as the young woman whipped his companion, but he didn't take it seriously. Young women from wealthy families were known for their willfulness and arrogance, so it was only natural that they would fight back in such a situation.

He was waiting to see how his companion would tease this young lady. Would he grab the tip of her whip, pull her into his arms, and kiss her first? Or would he nimbly dodge left and right and pinch her waist a couple of times?

His companion's pitiful screams stunned him for a moment. When he realized that he and his companion had misjudged and underestimated the young woman in front of him, his first thought was not to draw the weapon at his waist to defend himself, but to turn around and try to leave this place as quickly as possible using his lightness skill.

Although he hadn't seen how badly his companion was injured, based on his years of experience on missions, he could tell from his companion's first scream and the clear sound of bones cracking when he was whipped a second time that this old man was finished.

Trying to run? Hong Xiaoduo moved as she pleased, leaping forward a few steps and lashing the back of the person who was airborne in front of her with her whip.

The whip returned to his palm, not missing its mark. The next moment, the man groaned and fell heavily to the ground, face down.

Hong Xiaoduo wanted to go forward to check, but she was worried about the children in the car. She turned her head to look at the one she had hit first, who covered his eyes with one hand and staggered away towards the woods.

She didn't chase after him, but after thinking for a moment, she took out a pebble and threw it at the back of the man's knees. Thump, the dark figure knelt on the ground, and a terrible wail rose again.

"Mother, are you alright?" Tian Shu, who had mustered the courage to get out of the car because he was worried, asked in a trembling voice after seeing the figure standing beside him.

"It's nothing. Didn't I tell you to stay in the car? Why did you disobey and come out?" Hong Xiaoduo asked in a low voice while cautiously observing her surroundings.

Tian Shu breathed a sigh of relief after confirming that she was indeed alright: "I... I was worried that when you were fighting with them, the donkey might get frightened and you wouldn't be able to take care of it, so..."

Listening to Tian Shu's nervous explanation, Hong Xiaoduo was actually quite gratified. This child was clearly scared, but he was still able to consider this point, which was quite remarkable.

Just then, the sound of approaching hooves came. Hong Xiaoduo gripped the whip tightly, staring intently, wondering whether to whip the horse or the rider as it drew near.

"Young lady, are you all alright?" Before the horse even got close, a voice came from behind. She recognized the voice; it belonged to the old man's guard.

That is, one of the three guards that the old man had arranged to protect her and the children must have come over after hearing the screams of the man in black and fearing something had happened.

“We’re fine, you don’t need to worry about us, go do your own thing,” Hong Xiaoduo quickly replied.

"Are you really alright?" The guard reined in his horse, still asking with concern.

Actually, by this time, the attackers on the old man's side had been mostly dealt with, otherwise he wouldn't have heard the commotion and rushed over...
