Chapter 57 Misunderstanding

What the heck? This kid looks about ten years old. Is he also that young lady's son?

After a while, I wondered if it was possible that the young woman inside wasn't actually a young woman at all, but a woman in disguise.

After all, she managed to keep it a secret from everyone; she must have such amazing skills.

There are plenty of people in this world who know all sorts of strange and wonderful skills, such as the art of disguise.

Although she didn't wear a traditional Chinese woman's hairstyle, but rather a ponytail-like style, this hairstyle doesn't necessarily mean she's an unmarried woman.

After this analysis, Yin Qingyun's breathing became much calmer: "Oh, so she's the mother of you two siblings."

Yao Guang didn't notice anything about the guard's expression or reaction, but Tian Shu did. He wasn't surprised at all by this reaction; he had seen it several times before, but this was the most exaggerated one.

“Yes, she is the mother of all seven of us.” Tian Shu said, while observing the other person’s expression.

Judging from this, he doesn't seem like someone who admires his mother. Why would he react to this extent?

"What? All seven of you are her children?" Yin Qingyun's voice rose unconsciously.

Several subordinates nearby heard this, seemingly understanding yet not quite.

Tian Shu nodded, and Yao Guang, who was eating, nodded in agreement.

"My own mother?" Yin Qingyun blurted out.

Seven of them are her biological children? How could that be? He's not stupid. There are women who can give birth to more than ten children in their lifetime. But the woman in the room is unlikely to be that kind of mother. Her small body hasn't even fully developed yet. How could she be the mother of these seven children?

“Yes, dear mother.” Tian Shu immediately gave a resolute answer.

Yao Guang took a bite of the pancake and nodded again. This was her only mother, her own mother, no doubt about it!

When Hong Xiaoduo heard the commotion outside, she put on her robes and opened the door to see what was going on, only to see the backs of several guards walking away.

"Are they the ones who are leaving and are calling us to come along? If so, go and tell that old man to let them go first. We're not in a hurry; we can set off after noon." Hong Xiaoduo said, looking up at the weather and stretching comfortably.

Surprisingly, the children didn't have any nightmares last night. I wonder if it's because they've had several nightmares and they've gotten used to it? Or was it because the bedtime stories I told them last night were comforting?

Regardless, Hong Xiaoduo was quite happy, because she knew that dangers were unavoidable on the journey ahead.

How many times has this happened these past few days? The density and frequency... sigh! All she can say is that the people of this dynasty are too pitiful and unfortunate.

"He said he needed to see his mother, but he left without saying anything more," Tian Shu told him.

Oh, that shouldn't be a big deal. Hong Xiaoduo nodded and started washing up.

"You all eat your own food, no need to come over. I'm not seventy or eighty years old and my hands and feet are clumsy." Hong Xiaoduo saw the children in the corridor. When they saw her, they put down the food in their hands and ran over. She knew what they were going to do, so she quickly stopped them.

However, it was no use. The little ones listened to everything she said except for this one thing, as if they had been automatically blocked by a keyword.

She tried to reason with them several times, but it was completely useless. She knew that they felt safe doing this. They felt that having them around wasn't a burden, as they would be able to do many things.

Hong Xiaoduo had no choice but to tell herself to adapt.

Washing up was very simple; there was no face wash or skincare products. But I had already written down in my little mental notebook that I should use some skincare products, for myself and the kids, especially since it's winter.

It's not that she's clever and skillful enough to make skincare products; it's just that there's that old man at the science museum! Next time we connect, I'll tell him to get some hand cream, face cream, toothpaste, or something similar. If it's difficult, I'll look up information for her on how to make them and find out what readily available materials existed in ancient times.

She didn't think her demands were unreasonable. After being lured here from a place where human rights were most respected, couldn't she even ask him to do this little thing?

She now uses a clean strip of cloth rolled up with her finger to wipe her teeth, and rinses her mouth more often after eating.

I don't know how people in this dynasty cleaned their teeth. I wasn't curious before and didn't ask. But now that I know I can't be sure when I'll be able to return to the modern era, I have to start thinking about these little things.

At this moment, Lord Wei, who had just finished his breakfast and was standing outside hesitating whether to go and check on the children to see if they were frightened, saw his head guard, Yin Qingyun, walking over with a dejected look on his face.

"Guard Yin." Seeing that this man was about to walk away looking lost, Lord Wei had no choice but to call out to him.

Yin Qingyun hadn't actually heard and was still walking forward when the person behind him reached out and grabbed him to remind him, bringing him back to his senses. He turned around and stepped forward: "What are your orders, sir? I was distracted, please punish me."

Lord Wei said, "I have no official business to attend to right now, and we're not in a hurry to get going. Come, have some tea and chat with me."

Yin Qingyun was somewhat surprised that the adult had asked her to have tea with him. Was it because of the attack last night?

But whatever the reason, if an adult calls, then you naturally have to go along with it.

When the guards nearby heard that the master wanted tea, they immediately went to make it.

The two sat at a small table outside the house, the tea brought from the capital, the adults' favorite.

Yin Qingyun picked up the teapot and poured tea for the adult opposite him first.

"Guard Yin, you've been by my side for twelve years, haven't you?" Lord Wei asked, taking a sip of tea.

Upon hearing this, Yin Qingyun paused in his teacup, immediately put it down, knelt on one knee, clasped his hands, and said urgently, "My lord, what happened last night was my dereliction of duty. I will accept whatever punishment you give me, but please do not send me away."
