After settling into the rooms, unloading the cart at the stables, and feeding the donkeys, Hong Xiaoduo took the seven children for a stroll, looking for a place to have dinner.
This town has many shops and many people, making it very lively.
During the day, while on the carriage, a child mentioned that he had never eaten jiao'er (a type of glutinous rice dumpling), so Hong Xiaoduo agreed to find him one to eat.
As she walked, she happened to see a weapons shop by the roadside. Hong Xiaoduo thought she wanted to buy a whip, but she wasn't sure if it counted as a weapon. She thought she might go in and browse around, maybe she could find something else that would suit her.
Just as we were about to go inside, we saw the children all looking at a peddler by the roadside. On the peddler's carrying pole were little trinkets such as rattles, cloth tigers, and so on.
"I'll go in and take a look. You keep an eye on them and don't wander off," Hong Xiaoduo said to Tian Shu after thinking for a moment.
Tian Shu nodded in agreement and watched her enter the weapons shop.
There were no customers in the shop, only a shop assistant wiping the weapons on the shelf, and a fat man in his thirties next to him, who was either the owner or the manager.
"Young lady, what would you like to see? My house has everything you need." The plump shopkeeper greeted her as he looked Hong Xiaoduo up and down, noticing the sword at her waist. She wasn't a martial artist, yet she carried such an ancient sword from a previous dynasty.
If he wasn't mistaken, the patterns on the scabbard... this was the legendary Thunderfire Sword, forged from materials refined by heavenly thunder and fire.
"What are you doing?" Seeing the fat shopkeeper staring at the sword at her waist in a daze, and his hand reaching out, Hong Xiaoduo took a step back, placed her hand on the hilt of the sword, and asked sharply...
