Chapter 684 Framed

In the garden, after listening to Hong Xiaoduo's words, Quan Jinghuai nodded and left without saying anything.

Hong Xiaoduo then gestured for Yuheng to step aside and whispered some instructions.

"Yaoguang, let's go find Princess Zhaohua to play!" Yuheng excitedly called to his little sister after receiving the mission.

Little Yao Guang didn't think much of it and skipped and hopped after her older sister.

"Could it really be?" Fei Yan asked softly, watching Yu Heng Yao Guang's retreating figure.

Hong Xiaoduo did not hide the fact that Princess Yuening and her husband were likely Yaoguang's parents from Quan Jinghuai and Feiyan.

"We'll have an answer soon," Hong Xiaoduo replied softly, though she had another worry in her heart. She was really afraid that the result would inevitably involve the cliché of Zhaohua being the child of Biyu and the prince consort.

Hong Xiaoduo, who considered herself very good at judging people, was a little unsure this time. The maid Biyu didn't seem like a vicious and scheming person, and the prince consort Yu Rui didn't seem like a hypocritical and lecherous scoundrel.

Inside Guiyuan, Biyu had just helped the princess change her clothes and leave the room when she saw a maid leading Yuheng and Yaoguang into the courtyard.

"Sister Biyu, Princess Yuheng has come to visit our princess," a maidservant announced.

Although they were all maids, maids were divided into three ranks: upper, middle, and lower. Biyu was the one most valued by her master.

Biyu first bowed to Yuheng, then gestured to the maid to go about her other business, saying she would take care of things here.

"Please wait in this room, Princess. I will go and invite you out." Biyu said respectfully, pointing to a room next to her, and then walked to the other side with the dress in her arms.

At the beginning of Shenshi (3-5 PM), Princess Yi sent someone to invite Hong Xiaoduo and others to the dining hall for some snacks.

After noon, seeing that the weather was nice, Hong Xiaoduo and Feiyan sat by the lotus pond and watched Tian Shu and the other three brothers fish for small fish. The maids arranged by the Prince's Mansion also prepared tables, chairs, tea and dried fruit for them.

The prince kept two Persian cats. The young men were fishing and feeding them. Now that they were full, they followed closely behind when the prince got up.

We were almost at the entrance of the dining hall when we suddenly saw Prince Yi and his wife walking out, looking rather unwell.

"Your Highness and Your Highness, has something happened?" Hong Xiaoduo asked.

It wasn't that she was impolite and meddled in the affairs of the Prince's mansion, but rather that the expression and reaction of the other party when they saw her just now told her that the matter was related to her, or more precisely, to Yuheng and Yaoguang.

"It's said that the Yuheng sisters destroyed the Prince Consort's dam plan, but the specifics are still unclear. Why don't you come with me to take a look, Miss Hong?" The Princess Consort could only say helplessly.

The maid beside her was taken aback upon hearing this, and Hong Xiaoduo realized that the princess must have been hiding something from her.

Princess Yi did indeed keep one thing from Hong Xiaoduo: the maid had told her that Yao Guang, being mischievous, had damaged the prince consort's dam plan.

But she really couldn't say that. Although Hong Xiaoduo would find out later, the princess felt she couldn't say it like that.

Given this situation, it's impossible for Hong Xiaoniangzi and her group to wait here; they definitely have to go together.

Time is too short. If Miss Hong had arrived any later, I could have gone to Guiyuan first to find out what was going on and come up with a suitable solution. In any case, I can't let Xiao Yaoguang suffer any injustice.

What angered Prince Yi and his wife was that, based on their understanding of Princess Yuening and her husband Yu Rui, no matter how important the dam plan was, they shouldn't have made things difficult for six-year-old Yao Guang. Why did they make such a big fuss?

Prince Yi wanted to tell Hong Xiaoduo not to worry about the child, that he would never let Xiao Yaoguang suffer any grievances in his palace, and that if the child accidentally destroyed the dam map or caused any serious consequences, he, the prince, would take responsibility.

But when he turned his head, he saw that Miss Hong, Fei Yan, and the four boys all looked calm and composed, without the slightest hint of worry.

Is this because they trust the Prince's Mansion?

Soon, the group arrived at Guiyuan. Among those gathered in front of the study were servants from the Prince's residence and attendants from the Princess's residence. Hearing the commotion, they turned around and saw that it was the Prince and Princess who had arrived, and immediately stepped aside.

Not only were the princess and her consort there, but Quan Jinghuai was also present.

The scene was quite unexpected for Prince Yi and his wife.

On the faces of the sisters Yuheng and Yaoguang, there was no fear or unease of having done something wrong; instead, their faces were filled with anger, with little Yaoguang still standing with her hands on her hips.

The prince consort's face wasn't full of anger, but rather helpless.

Princess Yuening looked even more worried. When she saw the Princess Consort, Hong Xiaoduo and the others arrive, she rushed forward as if she had seen a savior.

"Uncle, Aunt, I'm so sorry to have disturbed you," Yu Rui said apologetically first.

Seeing that neither their daughter nor Xiao Yaoguang had suffered any harm, Prince Yi and his wife breathed a sigh of relief: "My lord, I heard that Yuheng and her sister destroyed your dam plan? What should we do? Is there any way to remedy this?"

“Uncle, it’s true that the dam map was destroyed, but it’s not actually that serious. I brought the secondary map with me this time; the main map was left in Luohua Prefecture.” Yu Rui didn’t correct the fact that Princess Yuheng wasn’t there.

"I see. I knew you, Prince Consort, were the most reliable in handling matters. Such an important map must have been backed up. Since there's nothing else, let's go to the dining hall for some refreshments. If we delay any longer, we'll have to have the banquet earlier than planned, hahaha," Prince Yi said with a laugh.

Upon hearing this, Yu Rui smiled awkwardly and helplessly at the two sisters, Yuheng and Yaoguang.

He and the princess had just said the same thing, but the two sisters wouldn't have it.

"Yuheng and Yaoguang, the Prince Consort said it's alright and didn't blame you two at all. Let's go to the front and have some snacks. The shrimp dumplings are so delicious." Prince Yi stepped forward and personally coaxed the two children.
