Chapter 70: Helping You Avoid Romantic Encounters?

That's good. Brother Fan didn't follow the wrong person; he cares about him quite a bit!

"Well, Brother Fan, I think this town is quite big, and there's a lot of good food. We're not in a hurry to get going, so I thought I'd take them here for another day before we leave." After Hong Xiaoduo finished speaking, she looked at the person eating noodles and seemed to be smiling.

Upon hearing her say this, Fan Wu's face first showed disbelief, then he smiled happily: "You're not leaving today? That's great, young master. Could I ask for another leave later? I'd like to show them around."

Upon hearing this, Murong Jing shook his head, and then he saw the smile on his subordinate's face visibly disappear.

"No need to ask for leave. I don't have any plans today. Let's go shopping together." Murong Jing swallowed what was in his mouth, inwardly despising his subordinate. He had always thought the subordinate was calm and composed, but it turned out he had misjudged him. Whether someone is calm or not depends on the people and situations they encounter!

"Xiaoduo, how are you?" Fan Wu asked hurriedly, afraid that she would mind.

“Great! It’ll be more lively with more people. I was just thinking of getting a carriage, and you’re definitely good at that. Could you please help me choose a gentle and easy-to-drive horse? Our carriage is too small; they can’t even sleep comfortably when they’re tired,” Hong Xiaoduo replied.

Fan Wu immediately agreed and helped pick out the pearl flowers and rouge. They might be novices, but picking out the horses was no problem for them.

As she spoke, she calculated her own money, wondering if it was enough to buy a carriage and to take the children shopping. If not, she would ask the young master for an advance on her monthly salary, for a year or two.

I was quite annoyed. If I had known I would meet Xiaoduo and the others, I wouldn't have donated money so recklessly. Who knows if those so-called philanthropists actually used their donations for the benefit of homeless people and refugees?

Little Duo has to raise seven children with pitiful backgrounds, and she really needs money!

After finishing the noodles, Hong Xiaoduo didn't stand on ceremony and insisted on paying the bill, then used a handkerchief to wipe Yao Guang's mouth.

"Mother, look, it's clean and tidy, not dirty at all," Yao Guang said, pointing to her collar and looking up.

Hong Xiaoduo laughed, thinking it wouldn't matter if they got dirty, but then she realized that they only had these clothes on them and no spare clothes.

The winter clothes on the carriage are too early to wear now. Since we're going to add a large carriage, we'll go buy them some autumn clothes later.

After leaving the noodle shop, the group slowly walked forward to the carriage shop.

Hai Dong and the others rushed to hold the youngest Yao Guang and Kai Yang, while the other five children were also protected in the middle.

Hong Xiaoduo and Fan Wu walked side by side, chatting about the price of the carriage. If they weren't in a hurry to leave, they could even customize the carriage.

Just then, there were sounds of gongs and shouts from the roadside ahead. Before Hong Xiaoduo could understand what it was, the person walking at the front carrying Yaoguang turned around and told her that there were magic tricks and performances, and they wanted to bring the children to watch.

"If you're not in a hurry, why don't you stop and take a look? Or you can go to the carriage shop first?" Murong Jing still didn't make a decision for his subordinates, but turned to Hong Xiaoduo and asked.

Hong Xiaoduo said, "No rush, we'll just have to trouble them."

"They want to see it themselves, so what's the trouble?" Fan Wu said deliberately. Seeing that his brothers didn't say anything sarcastic after they found out about him, Xiao Duo, and the children, and that he was quite happy that they treated the children so well, he was also very happy.

"Young Lady Hong, would you like to take a look?" Murong Jing asked Hong Xiaoduo.

She was about to say "okay," but suddenly she realized that what he meant by asking her wasn't quite like that.

"If you find it too noisy, why don't you sit at the tea stall over there and wait for them?" Before she could even think of a reason, the person who asked had already given her the answer.

Hong Xiaoduo nodded and said okay.

Seeing Fan Wu also walking towards the tea stall not far away, Murong Jing teased him, "How come you, as the uncle, got your limelight stolen by them?"

Upon hearing this, Fan Wu glanced towards the circus troupe and realized what was going on: "Xiao Duo, you go sit at the tea stall and wait. I'm going to watch the show with them."

Hong Xiaoduo smiled and nodded. Watching Fan Wu's hurried figure, she couldn't help but laugh. What a simple-minded and naive older brother! So easy to fool.

After glancing at the excited little ones, Hong Xiaoduo followed Murong Jing toward the tea stall with peace of mind.

"Thank you," Murong Jing said.

Huh? Your men helped me take care of the children, shouldn't I be the one saying thank you? Hong Xiaoduo glanced at the man beside her in confusion, then suddenly realized why he was thanking her.

"No need to thank me, young master. I didn't stay today because of you," Hong Xiaoduo said with a smile.

Her words were honest, and Murong Jing smiled in response. This was the first time he had been ignored.

As the two were talking, they arrived at the tea stall. The tea stall owner had just seen the tall and handsome man and the charming woman walking this way, but he never expected that they would come to his tea stall.

He hurriedly greeted them, wiping the already cleaned chairs again with his sleeve.

His tea stall was nothing like a teahouse; it was just ordinary leaf tea. It was a place for tired tea drinkers to rest and earn a little money. Anyone with a bit of money or status wouldn't sit at his stall.

Seeing that the handsome young man and beautiful young woman didn't seem to mind at all and sat down casually, the stall owner was very happy. He noticed that the two of them were looking towards the circus troupe, and guessed that they probably weren't there to drink tea, but just to sit down.

He wasn't disappointed. It was good enough that such a customer didn't mind and was willing to sit down at his humble tea stall.

"Give me a pot of tea," Murong Jing said to the stall owner.

"Young master, this tea stall only has the cheapest leaf tea," the stall owner told him somewhat embarrassedly.

Murong Jing said it was alright, so the stall owner hurriedly went to find the newly added teapot and teacups, rinsed them with boiling water again, and then carefully brewed the tea and placed it on the table.
