Compassionate Child
Yun Jinglu didn't answer Qingshan first. When she mentioned Ju Yue, his attention was completely focused on observing her reaction with his peripheral vision. Her expression was calm, as if she really didn't know the name Ju Yue at all.
"I've already said that unless it's an emergency, there's no need to ask Ju Yue for help."
He sat upright, looking straight ahead calmly.
Lan Qu was only concerned with Yueya in his arms and didn't notice the stone statue behind him that was constantly teleporting closer. At the critical moment, Lan Zhuochi ran out from another corner, threw out a demon summoning talisman, and summoned mangosteen to pull him and Yueya away from their original positions.
It just waved its hand, and Yueya used all her strength to break free, even cutting off one of her arms, and ran back to the side of the stone statue of the Boy Bodhisattva.
"Yukiya! What are you doing! Come here!"
The statue of the Bodhisattva Boy spoke to her with compassion and sympathy, "My poor Ah Feng, you and I have been together for hundreds of years. No matter what you choose, whether to continue your revenge or return to your lover and forget the hatred, I will protect you."
It touched her lowered forehead with the lotus in its hand, and she opened her mouth again and was able to speak.
"I will never give up on revenge, and I will never stand against you. Bodhisattva, please bless me to get my revenge."
Standing up straight, Yueya said to Lanqu with resentment, "Yunru, why don't you come over? Why don't you activate the formation? You said you would help me fulfill my wish, so why are you siding with this evil demon hunter who wants to destroy me and the Bodhisattva? Are you abandoning me again?"
Inside the umbrella, Yunqi Que was shocked and asked, "The resentful woman Yueya is Chen Yuefeng? Qingsan, what memories did you see when your bones were burned and you passed away?"
Qingshan said, "That should be it. There are too few bones in the broken hand, and the memories of the flesh and blood are confusing, so I can't confirm her identity. I saw two pregnant women, one with a miscarriage and the other with a difficult labor. I can't see their faces, but the room where the woman with the difficult labor lived is something I've seen in Chen Abao's memories."
Lan Zhuochi picked up a piece of sarcophagus lid from the ground and hit Lan Qu on the back of the head. Blood oozed out and Lan Qu fainted in Mangosteen's hands.
Without further ado, Lan Zhuochi pulled out all the peach-pink talisman papers from her pouch and threw them into the sky. As she chanted her incantation, a different monster appeared on each talisman.
Lan Zhuochi cut his wrist, and the blood that flowed out gathered into a thin red line, floating freely in the air.
As he whispered the spell that was as long as a scripture, the monsters he summoned flew to his side, seemingly randomly grabbing the red thread formed by his blood and flying everywhere.
As all the monsters were hovering, Lan Zhuochi's whispering speed increased. The red blood line emitted a faint light. Under the refraction of the moonlight, a maze pulled by the monsters appeared faintly.
The stone statue of the Boy Bodhisattva remained unmoved, all eyes were on him, quietly watching everything that was about to happen.
However, it was beyond the expectations of everyone present.
The red blood line network became brighter and brighter, and there were continuous vibration sounds coming from the mud in the bayberry forest, as if something was breaking out of the ground.
The earthen mound collapsed and shattered, and a white skeleton crawled out. The loose bones were connected by something invisible, and scarlet light was emitted from its two eye sockets.
The first thing they did after breaking out of the ground was to remove the soul flags beside them, and then they pretended they didn't exist and searched for the coffin stones in the forest. Once they found a coffin stone placed normally in its original position, they would pick up the stones on the ground that had been separated from the coffin lid and smash them down heavily, causing it to move and separate the coffin lid.
Suddenly, two densely packed red light balls lit up in every corner of the bayberry forest. There were so many that it was impossible to count how many white bones and skulls there were.
Not until all the coffin-pressing stones were destroyed did the skeletons stop in their places and look towards Lan Zhuochi.
Crescent Moon's eyes flashed with ferocity. The magic of the stone statue of the Boy Bodhisattva exposed her original appearance as Chen Yuefeng. Her feet were three feet off the ground, floating in the air.
Her body was covered with scars left over from the healing process, which wrapped around her skin. Her face was scratched, and on her forehead were tattoos of the words "unfaithful and unclean."
However, these are not depicted or described in the files or scrolls.
Others, like in the file scroll, had their feet tied up with a weight hanging between them. Dragging the weight, she sang an opera in a sad voice and teleported away towards Yangmei Village.
Lan Zhuochi anxiously accelerated his whispering of incantations. The blood net fell and then quickly rose into the air. The gaps in the mesh caught the heads of all the skeletons, and they hung in the air, swaying back and forth in their struggle.
But before they could catch Chen Yuefeng, she disappeared in the blink of an eye.
Shanzhu picked up Lanqu and Lanzhuochi and chased them, but the stone statue of the boy Bodhisattva jumped to stop them.
A fallen lotus petal was blown to their side by the gusting wind, cutting Mangosteen's arm. Mangosteen's invisibility spell immediately failed, and her figure was exposed.
The stone statue launched continuous fierce attacks, fighting fiercely with Lan Zhuo Chi and Mangosteen. Lan Zhuo Chi was soon defeated.
Yun Qique's emotions were complex and contradictory. She subconsciously worried about his life and death, but her body was unmoved. She stood there watching him get hurt again and again, wanting him to die.
Yun Jinglu tentatively said, "He has no chance of winning. He will definitely die."
"Isn't his death exactly what we want?"
Ah Lu smiled secretly with satisfaction, and watched as Lan Zhuochi was beaten and scarred by the stone statue and his fighting power dropped sharply. Only then did Yun Jinglu make a gesture, indicating Qingsan to help.
"It's too easy for him to die like this. I want him to suffer ten times, a hundred times, my pain."
The green umbrella's attack was aimed at the bunch of lotus pods in its arms, and each time it almost killed it. The stone statue was very protective of it and treasured it like its own eyes, fearing that any petal would be hurt. If it failed to dodge in time, it would even use its own body to protect it, and the stone would be shattered.
Lan Zhuochi and Mangosteen naturally discovered it quickly and coordinated in the attack, and the green umbrella quickly broke every part of its body.
Beneath the broken stone cave were clothes and human skin.
The statue gradually lost ground, so it leaped high into the air and then fell to the ground, its stone shell shattering and falling off, revealing its true form.
A young child wearing a longevity lock collar.
It was wearing monk's robes, with two rows of crooked monk's marks on its head, and an exquisite longevity bracelet on each ankle and wrist.
Longevity locks and longevity bracelets have always been items that elders and parents in mortal families hope their children will live a long, healthy and safe life, and are also used to ward off disasters and evil spirits.
It looked like it was no more than six years old.
Yunqi Que asked, "What kind of demon is it?"
"It's just a wandering ghost that has eaten the incense and offerings of human believers. There's a name for this kind of thing: the Compassionate Child."
"Mercy Child?"
"Compassionate Children can be good or bad, all depending on their own fate. They can be considered opportunities bestowed by heaven, and if they seize them, they can become immortals. It is said that the power of immortals comes from the faith and incense of believers, and the faith of living beings can also create immortals. Some gods, forgotten by believers and without incense, gradually disappear, leaving the temple empty and possessed by wandering ghosts, demons, spirits, and monsters. After absorbing the incense of believers, they gain special powers. Children, who have not experienced the world, especially those who were kind and innocent in their lives but died young, are born with compassion and sympathy, and their souls are pure. They are more likely to encounter such opportunities than the elderly. They pity the world's loneliness and will impersonate the original gods to protect and help believers realize their wishes, hence the name Compassionate Children."
"If it's bad, why doesn't the King of Hell take it?"
Yun Jinglu said helplessly and lovingly, "A Que, I don't know everything either. However, the Compassionate Child before us, regardless of whether he does good or evil, has a demonic aura in its roots, and it will never be possible for him to achieve immortality."
"Jinglu, after losing your memories, you are omniscient and omnipotent... I almost doubt whether you are human."
He took her hand and placed it on his chest where his heart was beating. "I am a living person standing in front of you. My heart beats for you."
After saying this with a gentle look filled with love, he paused and added, "I actually think I'm not just a human. How wonderful it would be if I were a fairy or a god."
"Why?"
Yun Jinglu turned around, looked into her eyes, and said seriously, "Because my wife is as beautiful as a fairy from heaven, I want the opportunity to be by her side forever."
What she heard was: My wife is as beautiful as a fairy in heaven...
It's like a sweet word of praise.
"Alu, I'm getting more and more confused by what you're saying."
"It's okay. If you don't understand, one day I will explain everything until you understand."
Outside the umbrella, the compassionate child was no longer bound by the rigid stone shell, and his movements became agile and nimble. He used his magic power to lift and wrap the lotus pod in his hand, and then he let go and hit it, as nimble as a loach, "so slippery that it was hard to catch", and he instantly regained the upper hand.
Qingsan was caught off guard and it flashed behind him and hit him hard on the back.
Lan Zhuochi helped her and pulled her aside, then threw an attacking talisman at him.
However, since it revealed its true form, the talisman paper looked as fragile as a joke in his eyes. A random pinch of magic could make his talisman stop and turn into ashes.
The compassionate boy sneered contemptuously and threw a spell with disdain, knocking Lan Zhuochi to the side of the big umbrella. Blood flowed from the corner of his mouth. He lay on the ground on his side and struggled to get up.
Yun Qique subconsciously stretched out her hand to help him up, but when her hand was halfway extended, she retracted it.
Lan Zhuochi on the ground suddenly changed her expression, her gaze fixed on the big umbrella covering her and Yun Jinglu, and she mouthed the word "A Que".
When he attacked again, he did not rely too much on the talismans, but took the opportunity to draw out the copper coin sword from Lan Qu. Every time he swung the sword, the sound of the sword breaking through the wind brought with it a sharp howl of dawn.
Yunqi Que recognized that the person in front of him was Achi.
Looking back at Yun Jinglu, he was also staring at Lan Zhuochi, and his expression clearly showed that he was suspicious of him.
