Li Wan Heng Jin
The little carnivorous plant moved extremely fast and disappeared in a flash.
Li Wan calmly took out a dark brown beetle from the magic silver bell. Its limbs were tucked under its hard shell. It lay motionless in the palm of Li Wan's hand, like a dead object.
But when Li Wan used her hand soaked in the liquid from the porcelain bottle to repeatedly stroke its curled-up head, it soon woke up, opened its wings hidden behind its shell, folded them, and flew towards Li Wan.
"Follow it."
The beetle nimbly darted through the gaps between the densely packed branches of the Piranha Plant. Small as it was, it moved as fast as a fly. This created a real challenge for the four people tracking it. Unable to penetrate the narrow path it took, they could only track its movements while searching for a way out and observing the surrounding Piranha Plant petals.
When they reached the river, the four of them had to stop.
Fortunately, they saw the beetle enter a huge dead tree hole. There was an archway made of wooden boards at the entrance of the tree hole, which showed that it should be the home of the weasel couple.
The river was stagnant, with dark green duckweed covering the surface of the water, and bubbles rising and bursting from time to time.
Li Wan squatted down near the water's edge and brought the night pearl in her hand closer to the water's surface to illuminate it for a closer look.
The surface of the river water seemed to have a lot of green algae and was a bit sticky. Just as Li Wan was about to stand up, ripples appeared on the originally calm water surface, and the movement became louder and louder, as if something was swimming towards her.
Mio said, "They are a few small fish."
"The water is so dirty, how can there be fish alive?"
Just as she finished, Li Wan saw two ugly fish swimming up from the abyss-black depths of the water. Their grayish-black skins were covered in pimples and small, lumpy bumps. They surfaced and lingered for a moment, and then she saw the river surge, as if more fish were swimming towards her.
The ugly little fish suddenly turned into a young child floating in the water, with only his head visible.
He repeatedly looked back at the tree hole where the beetle had entered, his expression panicked and frightened. He tried his best to lower his voice and said, "Greetings, Lord Demon! I've finally waited for you. I knew you wouldn't abandon the monsters in our Misty Forest. My name is Fufu, and I'm a green fish monster. I've lived here before the poisonous fog started. My parents and many friends were killed. The big monster living in the tree hole is one of the culprits. We fish are the only ones in the Misty Forest who are still conscious. The big monster feeds us as food and comes to the river every day to recite the Purification Mantra to detoxify us. However, it is still impossible to prevent the river water from being polluted by the poison, which has made our appearance ugly. We have also developed the same symptoms as the monsters that were caught and poisoned. Many fish are starting to lose their minds. Please save us!"
"I came here to deal with the poisonous fog in the Misty Forest. Tell me, what else do you know?"
"Ever since that disgusting long-tailed toad started spewing poisonous green smoke from his swollen belly, the fog in the Misty Forest has become poisonous. After he came here for four or five days straight, he transplanted a lot of man-eating plants. That same day, the weasel couple also settled here. They recite some kind of purification mantra every day to protect themselves from the poisonous fog, but for some reason, they can't seem to leave the Misty Forest. The toad used to come every once in a while, bringing captured monsters and things the weasel couple needed, but he hasn't been here in a long time. I overheard the weasel couple saying that they would soon be able to leave this damn place forever, and that's all I know."
"So they cast a spell over the river?"
"No, casting spells in the Misty Forest will only accelerate the erosion of the poison in the inner force demon pill. There is a bridge."
Fu Fu swam to a bush beside the river, reached out and grabbed the roots of the bush and shook it, and a wooden bridge rose from the water with quite a noise.
Without time to think, the four of them stepped onto the wooden bridge and ran quickly to the other side of the river.
The wooden door blocking the tree hole was made of rotten wood from the forest. Heng Jin patted the wooden door to make a sound to warn the monster in the house to avoid hurting the pregnant weasel cat in the house, and then kicked the door hard to break it.
As the door panel broke into pieces, the male weasel cat who was protecting his wife was seen in the innermost part of the tree hole, standing in front of his wife with a fearless attitude.
He mobilized his demonic power and delivered a fatal blow to them. They dodged the attack, and the male weasel cat took the opportunity to approach and attacked them quickly again, forcing them back a little further away from the tree house.
After leaving the cave, he mobilized all his demonic power and directed his attack to the sleeping carnivorous plant on the other side of the river.
Li Wan said, "If they were willing to obey you, you wouldn't have used pressure attacks to wake them up. With so many carnivorous plants, are you planning to let your wife and children die here as well? If you confess your crime now and atone for your sins, I can consider releasing your wife and children and letting them return safely."
The hesitation on his face disappeared in an instant, and his ruthlessness reappeared. He continued to attack the sleeping carnivorous plant on the other side without any regard.
He broke the bud of the Piranha Plant, and the food that was being digested fell out. The angry and awake Piranha Plant opened its eyes and ran towards the bridge on the water.
Fortunately, the fish monster Fufu was quick-witted and shook the bushes, causing the wooden bridge to sink to the bottom of the water again.
The Piranha Plants seemed to be afraid of water and were wandering anxiously on the river bank. Behind them were gathering more and more awakened Piranha Plants.
Looking at how densely packed they are, sooner or later they will step on their companions' bodies and rush to the other side where Li Wan and the others are, regardless of everything.
Touching the purifying pearl necklace around her neck, Li Wan used 20% of her demonic power to fight the male weasel cat demon.
Seeing this, Cha Suxun and Heng Jin both wanted to step forward to help.
Mio stopped her, saying, "She has a string of purifying pearls. As long as she doesn't expend too much demonic energy for too long, I'll purify her again when we get back, and she'll be safe. You two only have one purifying pearl. If you act rashly, I can't guarantee what will happen to you. As long as we can prevent the man-eating plants on the other side from coming over, Wanwan shouldn't have any problem subduing the white weasel cat demon with 20% of her demonic energy."
As it was inconvenient to cast a spell, Heng Jin jumped up and broke off a low-hanging branch from the tree. She aimed at the carnivorous plant on the opposite bank with severely damaged petals and threw it with force. The branch shot out like a sharp arrow, steadily piercing the carnivorous plant's eyes and killing it.
Cha Suxun and Miu Mio followed suit, but this method couldn't kill the carnivorous plant whose petals were less damaged.
The fish demon Fufu summoned the other fish demons in the water to come ashore, transformed into human form, and threw the other fish demons who were still in their true forms onto the tree.
When they were thrown to the highest point, they transformed into human form and took the opportunity to hug the tree trunk and stay on the tree, helping them break more branches.
Li Wan was fighting fiercely with the weasel cat demon. Gradually, the weasel cat's eyes turned red and he shook his head more and more frequently. He quickly recited a spell silently, and the red light in his eyes gradually faded away.
But because of this distraction, he was hit by Li Wan's palm and flew out, hitting the ground heavily outside the tree hole.
The female ermine cat, who had been hiding in a tree hole, ran out crying and supported him. The male ermine cat yelled at her, "What are you doing out here? Be careful not to hurt yourself and your child! Go back and hide quickly. I'll take care of everything!"
The female ermine cat stroked her bulging belly and shook her head repeatedly.
"Stop it! How long has it been since the death hornet came? We might have already been abandoned by the Lord! Performing meritorious deeds to revive Zhi'er is important, but whether we and Lan'er in the belly can survive is more important! As long as we are alive, we are not afraid of losing opportunities. The Demon Lord always keeps his promises. She said she would give us a chance to atone for our sins. Why would we seek death..."
Before I could finish what I wanted to say, the severe pain in my abdomen and the amniotic fluid flowing between my legs came suddenly and suddenly.
She sat on the ground in agony, clutching her belly, and said to him, "The child is weak and must not be born in this misty forest! He will become alienated like us! Husband, please save Lan'er."
The male ermine cat clenched his fists and hesitated, his eyes constantly shifting between the tree hole and his fallen wife.
"Hurry up! I'm about to give birth! I can feel the baby's head coming out soon. Husband, we can't lose another child. Save him!"
Faced with his wife's painful cries, he closed his eyes tightly and no longer looked at her.
"My dear, you should be the one who wakes up. How long have you been pregnant? Your belly is so big, it looks like you're about to give birth. Your water has broken, and the baby is about to come out. You can even feel his head coming out. A normal child wouldn't even be fully formed at this moment. Lan'er must have been corroded and transformed by this poison just like the rest of us. It doesn't matter whether he's born or not. He shouldn't have been born in the first place, living in hiding for the rest of his life."
"But he is our child..."
"He's nothing but a monster with our blood flowing through his veins! Rather than letting him suffer strange looks and have a hard life, you might as well give birth to him now and let me strangle him to death. Then he can be reborn as a normal child."
The female ermine cat opened her legs, and tried hard to regulate her breathing to stay awake. With a cry of pain, a bloody ermine cat cub crawled out from under her skirt.
He sat on the ground, playing with and biting the umbilical cord connecting the mother and child.
She wanted to sit up and cover the baby's mouth to prevent him from making any noise that would be heard by the male ermine cat and turn around to kill him, but her body was too weak after giving birth and she couldn't do it.
The male ermine cat smelled blood, opened his eyes, turned around and saw a child that was completely in the form of an ermine cat, with abnormal size and behavior. He squatted down without hesitation and strangled the cub's neck.
The cub struggled due to suffocation, but his eyes did not have any fatherly love. Instead, they were cold and numb, as if he was looking at a monster.
"Look carefully! She's an alienated monster. You and I are both demons who have cultivated human nature for a long time. A newborn child should also be in human form, not exactly in its original form. He's just like that raccoon you raised. His unusually large size is the first symptom of alienation."
The weak female ermine cat cried bitterly, but had nothing to say. She just looked at the child struggling in her husband's hands with sadness and reluctance.
Because the umbilical cord had been bitten off by the cub, after it died, the male ermine cat stood up and threw the child directly into the carnivorous plant bushes on the other side of the river.
"It's not enough that you strangled him to death, why did you cruelly throw him to the carnivorous plant? You're so scary..."
"Rather than burying him in the ground and leaving you to grieve over his grave, it's better to let him disappear from this world completely. My dear, you can blame me all you want now, but one day you'll understand my good intentions. Stop talking, you just gave birth and need to rest well."
