Chapter 192 Shining Her Shoes (2/2)

Under the scorching sun, Yun An had someone holding an umbrella for him, but sweat was already seeping from his forehead. He had been walking for so long, and no one had even offered him a sip of water. His lips were dry and chapped.

Shen Tangning and Chi Yan followed cautiously behind, not daring to get too close.

Yun An glanced at Shen Ci behind her, her eyes darkening.

She thought Shen Ci would be easier to deal with than his sister, but she didn't expect him to be more composed than she imagined. Her eyes lit up and she suddenly had an idea.

Yun An stopped walking, and Shen Ci, not understanding why, also stopped.

She stared down at her toes, her brows furrowing in displeasure: "My shoes are dirty!"

Shen Ci glanced over. It had rained last night, and there was still a puddle of water on the roadside. The road was so wide, and there were so many places to walk, yet she insisted on stepping on that spot.

He sensed that she was about to cause trouble again, and he was already feeling a bit annoyed.

A maidservant rushed forward to polish her shoes, but Yun An stopped her, saying, "You don't need to do it." She slowly looked at Shen Ci, "Young Master Shen, polishing shoes is just a small thing; you should be able to do it well, right?"

Shen Ci was taken aback, then his eyes turned cold. He was, after all, a scion of a prominent family, yet she wanted him to shine her shoes?

Is this treating him like a servant?

He maintained his smile: "Princess, I still have so many things on me."

Yun An raised an eyebrow, speaking imperiously: "Why don't you just give the things to someone else?"

I ignored him the whole way, but now he's willing to let someone else help him.

Shen Ci sneered inwardly. He had tolerated her deliberately causing him trouble all along, but now that she was humiliating him like this, anyone with a shred of backbone would not be able to stand it!

"I see that the princess isn't very interested in shopping, so let's call it a day!"

Shen Ci coldly curled his lips, shoved the large pile of things in his hand into the hands of the attendant beside him, and turned to leave. Yun An's leisurely voice came from behind:

"Young Master Shen, you've finally lost your temper? Very well, then this princess will have no choice but to report the truth to Father Emperor later." She changed the subject, her tone becoming slightly playful, "Or perhaps, it's said that Young Madam Chi has always doted on her younger brother, so she might be willing to do it on his behalf?"

Anger suddenly flashed in Shen Ci's eyes, and he turned around abruptly: "You!"

He was extremely impatient with Yun An's antics earlier, but considering her status as a woman, he repeatedly tolerated her.

But Shen Ci is truly enraged right now!

Humiliating him was one thing, but she actually dared to lay a hand on his older sister?!

"How am I, the princess?"

Meeting Yun An's provocative gaze was like a bucket of cold water being poured over his head. Shen Ci's eyes froze for a moment before he quickly regained his composure, his heart filled with turbulent emotions:

Yun An's goal was to provoke him. If he showed any disrespect, she would have a reason to retaliate. He couldn't fall into her trap!

Shen Ci clenched his fists until his knuckles turned white, and after a long while he suddenly smiled: "It's just shining shoes, Princess, just wait and see."

He took a few steps forward and squatted down, about to wipe the stain dry with his handkerchief, when Yun An's light voice fell from above, feigning difficulty:

"These shoes of mine are very precious; ordinary fabrics might damage them. But the material of your clothes is quite nice. Why don't you wipe them with your sleeve, Young Master Chen?"

Shen Ci's temples throbbed with veins: "..."

On the other side, Shen Tangning saw Shen Ci squatting in front of Princess Yun'an, her pupils suddenly contracted, and her face darkened:

"What is Aci doing?!"
