Upon hearing his voice, Yun An curled her lips downwards, lashed out with the whip, and made the horse run even faster.
Lost in her excitement, she didn't notice that the Akhal-Teke horse beneath her was already behaving strangely.
Shen Ci smiled knowingly and patted his horse reassuringly. Of course, he hadn't done anything wrong; he wasn't stupid.
A flower called "Red Tail" grows in this forest. It has a rich fragrance that has little effect on people, but it can excite and agitate horses.
It's the season for red irises to bloom now.
Sure enough, not long after, a cry of alarm came from the other side: "Stop!"
Yun'an finally realized something was wrong; she couldn't control the horse's speed anymore!
She tried every possible way to stop the horse, but all her attempts failed.
"Damn beast!"
In her panic, she made a mistake and pulled out the dagger strapped to her leg, stabbing it viciously into the horse's neck!
If she could instantly incapacitate the horse, that would be a viable method. However, her strength was limited, and the dagger barely pierced the skin, causing the horse pain and making it even more restless.
The frenzied horse ran amok, carrying her aimlessly around the place. Branches scratched her skin, leaving tiny cuts, and even her face was not spared.
"Princess, be careful!"
After watching the excitement for a while, Shen Ci stepped onto the horse's back, leaped forward, and pulled Yun An off the horse.
Due to inertia, the two fell to the ground, tumbling several times until they crashed into a tree before stopping.
Because he was protecting Yun An, Shen Ci's arm was scraped by the stones on the ground, and there were several shocking bloodstains on the back of his hand.
Still shaken, Yun An frowned deeply and slapped Shen Ci across the face: "You bastard!"
The slap was intercepted mid-air. Shen Ci gripped her wrist, staring coldly at her, his tone mocking: "I saved the princess, and this is how the princess expresses her gratitude?"
Yun An was initially incredulous, but her eyes flickered when she noticed the injury on the back of his hand. She gritted her teeth and sneered, "If you had come earlier, this princess wouldn't have been injured! You were just deliberately hiding in the back watching the show, weren't you?"
"Whatever the princess thinks." Shen Ci shook off her hand and scoffed lightly, standing up with a cold tone. "Since you can't stand me anyway, I won't stay here and get in the princess's way."
He turned to leave, and Yun An stared in astonishment. Just as she was about to get up, a sharp pain shot through her ankle. She gasped and saw that Shen Ci had already walked several steps away. She hurriedly threatened, "Shen Ci, if you dare to leave this princess alone in this desolate wilderness, I will have my father exterminate your entire family!"
What was said unintentionally may have been taken to heart by the listener.
Shen Ci stopped in his tracks, his eyes turning completely cold. Many emotions welled up inside him, but he restrained and suppressed them.
He turned around and looked down at her, saying, "Get up."
Yun An's face darkened with annoyance, and she glared at him fiercely: "If I could move, would I need you to tell me?"
Shen Ci concealed the irritation in his eyes, squatted down with his back to her, and said with a very sour face: "Come up."
Yun An frowned and asked critically, "Why not carry me?"
She also complained that the bones in his back were uncomfortable.
Shen Ci lowered his eyes, his tone laced with sarcasm: "I'm sure the princess wouldn't want to see my face all the time, would she?"
Coincidentally, he didn't want to see her either.
Yun An paused, then reluctantly lay down on it.
