Chapter 208 The Unique Ugliness (1/2)

At Xueqing's suggestion, Shen Tangning went out for a walk and didn't return until it was getting dark.

Chi Yan still hadn't returned, and she was mentally prepared, so she wasn't particularly disappointed: "Tell the kitchen to prepare the meal."

"No rush!" Xueqing stepped forward and went behind her, covering her eyes with gauze, her tone mysterious, "This servant will take Miss to a place."

Shen Tangning raised an eyebrow slightly, but did not resist, letting her lead her to a certain place.

A faint fragrance wafted in the air, and she began to have some guesses.

"Miss, we've arrived." Xueqing's tone held a hint of excitement. As if sensing something, she raised her hand and removed the satin covering her eyes.

The silky texture slid down my fingertips, and the scene before my eyes came into view.

The winding path is lined with seasonal flowers, and the stone slabs are covered with a layer of pink and white petals, leading to the pavilion.

The corners of the pavilion were adorned with gauze lanterns, and the table was set with pastries and fruits, clearly having been carefully decorated.

She paused, turned to look at Xueqing, who kept her head down and didn't dare to meet her gaze. She whispered encouragingly, "Miss, wouldn't it be more interesting to dine out? This is something that my nanny and I spent a long time preparing!"

Shen Tangning noticed her unnatural slight movements, her eyebrows twitched slightly, but she didn't expose her.

Xueqing probably didn't even realize that she would unconsciously fidget with her fingers when she lied, and she didn't dare to look at her.

She lifted her foot and walked towards the pavilion. A crisp sound reached her ears. Shen Tangning looked in the direction of the sound and saw wind chimes hanging from the eaves. A gentle breeze stirred the wind chimes, and they tinkled softly.

She fiddled with it for a while, a slight smile playing on her lips, before walking into the pavilion and sitting down.

Granny Qin came over with a smile, carrying a bowl of something: "Miss, guess what this is?"

Shen Tangning thought for a moment and asked cooperatively, "Is it longevity noodles?"

Granny Qin's eyes widened in surprise: "You could have guessed that? Miss, you're truly a prophet!"

Shen Tangning smiled slightly, pursing her lips. This process happens every year, and it would be difficult for her to pretend she didn't know.

She lifted the lid and peered into the bowl, immediately noticing something amiss.

The dough was rolled out unevenly, the workmanship was a bit rough, and it was a bit lumpy because the heat wasn't controlled well. The fried egg was also a bit burnt, which was clearly not Qin Mama's skill.

Granny Qin coughed lightly: "Miss, eat it while it's hot."

Shen Tangning pretended to be nonchalant, picked up her chopsticks, took a bite of noodles, and found it slightly sour, probably because she had accidentally added too much vinegar.

Under the expectant gazes of Xueqing and Granny Qin, she paused and raised her head, her slightly upturned eyes showing a hint of doubt and innocence: "Why do I feel that Granny's cooking skills seem to have declined somewhat?"

Xueqing and Granny Qin exchanged a glance: "..."

Chi Yan, who had just sneaked around to the back of the pavilion: "..."

Granny Qin coughed a few times, her face embarrassed as she tried to salvage the situation: "Maybe...maybe I'm just out of practice?"

Chi Yan was getting restless. She parted the flower branches and peeked out, asking earnestly, "Is it really that bad?"

He even practiced it secretly several times!

His sudden appearance startled both Xueqing and Granny Qin.

Shen Tangning, on the contrary, remained quite calm and slowly glanced at him: "Didn't you say you weren't coming back?"

Chi Yan forced an awkward smile and lowered his head: "I just wanted to give you a surprise."

"Come in, aren't you uncomfortable lying there?" A hint of a smile appeared in her eyes.

He instantly roused himself, used the railing to nimbly flip over and landed steadily.

Over there, Xueqing and Granny Qin exchanged glances, revealed a knowing smile, and quietly withdrew.
