Chapter 247 Pointing Out the Way (1/2)

The room fell silent. Shen Tangning and Chi Yan exchanged a glance and looked toward the inner room.

Feng Zhiwen stared at the top of the tent with his eyes open. In fact, he had been awake for a while, but he had not made a sound because he heard the conversation outside.

He couldn't hold back until Chi Yan said those words.

Chi Yan walked around the screen and entered. Their eyes met, and a complex expression flashed across his face: "You heard everything?"

Despite his still haggard appearance, Feng Zhiwen managed a weak smile: "Cousin, are you worried that this matter will create a rift between us?"

He raised his swollen hand, which was wrapped in layers of gauze, and a simple, honest smile appeared on his face.

Feng Yuan also walked in, and seeing his appearance, she couldn't help but secretly turn her head away, her eyes reddening.

Chi Yan's gaze softened slightly as she looked at him without speaking.

The smile on Feng Zhiwen's lips gradually faded, and a hint of sadness flashed in his eyes: "When my finger was first broken, I really hated myself, but I hated myself for being so useless, causing trouble again and again, and even getting myself into trouble."

If he had been more astute and vigilant, he wouldn't have fallen for the trap so easily, harming himself and even implicating his father...

He had thought about ending it all, but only a coward would choose to run away. He could die, but what about his father and the Feng family who had suffered because of him?

It must be said that Shen Tangning's words did indeed wake him up; no one should be held responsible for his naivety and stupidity.

He looked up and stared intently at Chi Yan, his eyes slightly red.

When Huo Cheng deliberately sowed discord between him and Chi Yan, there was a moment when he did resent Chi Yan, but when he saw him rush into the fire to save him without hesitation, that resentment vanished.

My cousin is still the same cousin he always was. He would stand in front of him without hesitation when he was in danger, and he would risk his life to save him from perilous situations.

"I know my cousin must have gone to a lot of trouble to save me. If I'm not grateful and instead harbor resentment, that would be really awful!"

He bit his lip, his eyes hardening. "Even if I have to hate, I should hate the culprit who brought me to this state! One day, I will catch him with my own hands and take my revenge!"

When this was mentioned, Chi Yan told him the good news: "I have avenged you and cut off his arm, but he is still alive because we still need to interrogate him about some things." He immediately added, "But don't worry, once he enters a place like the Imperial Prison, I guarantee he will suffer a fate worse than death."

Upon hearing this, Feng Zhiwen stared wide-eyed, a hint of bewilderment in his eyes: "Ah, so fast..."

He had just set his life goals when he was told that his goals had already been achieved.

The surprise came unexpectedly.

"Cousin, you're so good to me!" Feng Zhiwen was so moved that his eyes welled up with tears. If it weren't for his physical limitations, he would have already rushed over and hugged Chi Yan's leg.

Feng Yuan wiped his wet eyes, took a few steps forward and patted his son on the shoulder: "It's good that you know, your cousin and his wife have put in a lot of effort for this mess of yours!"

Feng Zhiwen was taken aback for a moment, then looked up: "Sister-in-law?"
