He stumbled and rushed into the room, but the bed where the Third Prince should have been lying was empty.
Tang Xu stood there in shock, searching the entire house in disbelief, but still found nothing!
"Guard Wang?" Not only that, but Yan Xingzhou's trusted men were also nowhere to be seen. "Have you seen Guard Wang?"
The aide shook his head blankly.
His clothes were instantly soaked with cold sweat. Had they abandoned him while he was asleep?
Impossible. The Third Prince is still in danger. Where could they take him?
Without time to think, the pursuers were already close at hand, and Tang Xu gritted his teeth and rushed to the backyard.
As Chi Yan led his people inside, he quickly noticed something amiss.
The fallen leaves in the courtyard were left unswept, and should have formed a thick layer, but in some places, it looked as if someone had walked on them, creating a clean path.
This doesn't look like it's deserted!
Sure enough, soon the sounds of fighting came from the courtyard. Those people sensed that danger was approaching and began a frantic counterattack!
Chi Yan coldly curled his lips:
A desperate struggle!
"Search every inch of the place thoroughly!"
As Chi Yan passed the lotus pond, he paused and turned to look.
It's summer, the season when lotus flowers bloom and lotus leaves cluster together; this underwater place is indeed a good hiding place for people.
Someone rushed in to report: "Sir, we have captured eight people so far!"
Chi Yan narrowed his eyes: "Well done, keep searching, don't let a single person escape!"
Upon hearing that familiar voice, Tang Xu, underwater, felt a sudden tightness in his chest and clenched his fists.
Pool, banquet!
His mind was in turmoil, utterly perplexed:
How did Chi Yan end up here?
He carefully selected and thought of this place; how could he have guessed it so quickly?
Overcome with emotion, Tang Xu's breathing became unsteady, and he nearly collapsed. He quickly composed himself and silently prayed that the people above would leave soon.
He could only hold his breath for a limited time. If Chi Yan didn't leave sooner or later, his whereabouts would be exposed.
However, Chi Yan seemed to be deliberately going against him, and started talking to others in front of him.
Tang Xu was seething with hatred, but he was powerless to do anything about it. His face gradually turned red, and his lungs felt like they were about to explode due to lack of oxygen. He was starting to feel like he couldn't hold on any longer.
Finally, Chi Yan spoke up as if bestowing a favor: "Let's go take a look over there."
The hazy figure on the water disappeared. Tang Xu held on for a while longer, but could no longer hold his breath. He carefully surfaced to breathe.
As fresh air entered his mouth and nose, he relaxed his brows and eyes, feeling as if he had been reborn!
Suddenly, he caught a glimpse of something out of the corner of his eye, and his face froze as if he had been frozen.
Chi Yan was standing under a tree not far away, leaning against the trunk, lazily crossing his arms and glancing at him with a playful tone:
"I never expected that we would meet again under such circumstances."
Tang Xu felt a chill run through his body. He instantly realized that the man hadn't left at all, but was deliberately toying with him!
Shock, panic, anger... a mix of emotions overwhelmed him!
A casual laugh escaped his throat, and Chi Yan leaned slightly forward to stare at him: "Do you need an explanation for what you did here?"
