Chapter 37 Kidnapped (1/2)

"Let me see what you're capable of."

Shen Tangning kept pondering the meaning of the words the eldest princess left behind before she departed.

She was at a loss for the moment and planned to meet up with Chi Yan first. Since the princess had invited her to talk, Chi Yan naturally had to avoid suspicion, so he did not come with her, but waited for her behind a hanging flower gate.

As Shen Tangning passed by a lush sycamore tree, some leaves fell. She frowned as she stared at the verdant leaves. It was only June, why were the leaves already falling?

Just as she was about to look up, her pupils suddenly contracted as a sack fell from the sky, plunging her into complete darkness.

"Hmm..."

The thugs exchanged triumphant smiles and glanced at each other: "We've finally got her all alone!"

...

Meanwhile, Chi Yan leaned against the wall, looking down and watching the ants move house with a bored expression.

He was losing patience and looked up suspiciously: "Why does this princess have so much to say?"

How much time has passed, and Shen Tangning still hasn't returned?

As noon approached, Chi Yan couldn't sit still any longer. He straightened up and decided to go and find out what was going on. He didn't care about being impolite; he was in a hurry to get back for lunch!

Chi Yan followed the path to the pavilion, which was empty. The tea on the table was placed in its original position. He went up and checked it; the teacup was still warm, proving that the person had left not long ago.

Chi Yan frowned and found the young novice monk who was sweeping the courtyard: "Hello, I would like to ask, where is the Princess?"

The young novice monk diligently swept up the fallen leaves, glancing at him with surprise, for not many people knew the whereabouts of the princess: "At this hour, Her Highness should have returned to her meditation room for her meal."

Chi Yan felt even more puzzled and quickly asked, "What about the lady who was talking with the Princess?"

"You mean the lady in the turquoise dress? She just left."

Chi Yan was taken aback; his instinctive reaction was that something was wrong!

Shen Tangning knew that she was still waiting for her and would never leave without saying goodbye!

His heart was beating faster than usual; something must have happened to Shen Tangning!

He quickly searched the nearby area and found a bright moon earring under a sycamore tree, which was the one Shen Tangning was wearing today.

She's not the type to be careless or forgetful; she must have encountered some extremely urgent situation!

"Little master, how many paths are there down the mountain?"

Seeing his solemn expression, the young novice monk dared not delay: "There are two paths, one is the main road we usually take, and the other is a secluded path."

Chi Yan's expression darkened slightly: "Where is that secluded path?"

If she were truly in danger, she would surely have been kidnapped, and the kidnapper would never have walked openly down the main road, as that would have attracted too much attention.

Thanks!

Upon receiving the news, Chi Yan turned and left. The other party was only with one person, so they couldn't run fast. If he was fast enough, he might be able to catch up.

At the same time, Yan Mingyi also received the news.

Yin Fang frowned and whispered, "Your Highness, it's highly likely that Miss Shen has been kidnapped by villains, just now..."

When she went out to collect her vegetarian meal, she encountered a young monk sweeping the courtyard. After hesitating for a moment, he told her the truth.

Yan Mingyi paused, then narrowed her eyes slightly: "This girl is quite hateful, isn't she?"

She gave a slight sneer, "Kidnapping someone on my own turf is clearly a sign that they don't take me seriously! If I send a few people to search for them and something goes wrong, I'll have no way to explain myself..."

She seemed to have thought of something, and frowned, looking somewhat irritated.
