The bindings weren't too tight to break free from, but out of caution, Chi Yan didn't act rashly. He simply asked in a slightly questioning tone, "A-Ning? What... are you doing?"
Shen Tangning didn't make a sound, silently binding him tightly to the chair in the darkness. The silk she used was soft and not too tight, so it wouldn't make him uncomfortable.
As Chi Yan listened to her footsteps fade into the distance, the candlelight flickered twice, dispelling the boundless darkness. Shen Tangning approached, holding a candle, and the faint candlelight illuminated this corner of the world.
When her gaze fell on Chi Yan, she paused. The bright red silk tightly wrapped around his bare upper body, contrasting with his fair skin, presenting a striking beauty.
She had tied him up intending only to punish him and teach him a lesson, but now the situation seemed to have taken on a different meaning.
Chi Yan was looking at her with a meaningful gaze, his expression hesitant: "Where did you learn all this?"
This way of playing is truly beyond his comprehension.
He seriously suspected that she had been in contact with some strange things behind his back.
"..."
Is it that difficult?
Shen Tangning thought to herself, "Isn't this how kidnappers kidnap people?"
As for why she had to take off his clothes first, she convinced herself that it was to apply medicine to his wounds.
Shen Tangning silently circled behind him. A cool, stimulating sensation came from the wound, and Chi Yan suddenly realized what was happening:
It turns out she really just intended to apply the medicine.
He said, "How could someone as honest as her play these tricks?"
His tense body relaxed, and he lazily shifted his posture, jokingly negotiating with her: "How about you untie me first? You can hit me or scold me, I won't fight back?"
Shen Tangning glanced at him, her gaze somewhat meaningful.
No rush.
She turned and walked to the table, slowly beginning to grind the powder.
What are you grinding things up in the middle of the night?
Chi Yan tilted his head to watch her movements, his suspicion growing: "You want to write?"
Shen Tangning glanced at him briefly: "Painting."
He blurted out, "Why are you painting at this hour?"
She lowered her head again, remaining silent and focusing solely on her work.
Chi Yan was filled with curiosity, but she ignored him.
Shen Tangning had finished grinding the powder, and he was already dozing off when he heard footsteps. He opened his eyes groggily and asked, "Is it done?"
His gaze swept over her hands, and he asked a beat late, "Don't you use paper when you paint?"
She held only a pen and ink in her hand, looking down at him, and raised the corner of her lips when she heard his words: "Isn't the paper right in front of you?"
Chi Yan paused, followed her gaze, slowly lowered his head, glanced at himself, and then his brain completely shut down.
ah? ? ?
Where did the paper come from?
Him?
Chi Yan looked up again and met Shen Tangning's gaze, which was feigning composure. She pursed her lips and said calmly, "We'll settle all our scores, old and new, regarding what happened at the hunting grounds and this time when you lied to me."
His voice became strained: "Couldn't we... try a different approach?"
