Chapter 9 Helping her become the Crown Prince's wife (2/2)

"Second sister, did you come here just to remind me?" Shen Tangning stared at her, her eyes clear and bright, as if she could see into people's hearts.

Shen Xiwei bit her lip, stood up, took two steps forward, and knelt down: "I want to ask my elder sister for help in becoming the Crown Prince's consort!"

Before Shen Tangning could speak, Granny Qin, unable to contain herself any longer, spat out, "Second Miss, you can't be so shameless! My young lady is magnanimous and it's already a blessing that she doesn't hold it against you. Don't push your luck!"

I've never seen anyone so shameless!

Xueqing also looked indignant.

Shen Tangning stared at the person with their head bowed, a hint of interest flashing in her eyes. Her tone softened: "Second sister, you think too highly of me. I don't have that much ability."

She paused slightly, a hint of mockery in her voice, "Aren't you and the Crown Prince in love? Asking him will be more effective than asking me."

Shen Xiwei raised her eyes, her gaze earnest: "My elder sister has always been intelligent, and she knows that as long as the Lady of the Marquis is around, she will never allow the Heir Apparent to elevate me to the position of principal wife."

Shen Tangning said bluntly, "That's a problem with your status. If the Lady of the Marquis wasn't out of her mind, she wouldn't have allowed a concubine's daughter to become the Crown Prince's wife."

Noble families valued marriages between people of equal social standing; this concept was ingrained in their very being.

In her previous life, if Shen Xiwei hadn't had a chance to gain the favor of a nobleman and secretly become pregnant with Chi Jingyu's child, the Lady of the Marquis would never have allowed her to enter the household.

They say love can overcome all difficulties, but she wants to see if this couple can still be steadfast in their love without her by their side!

Shen Xiwei's face turned pale, and she lowered her eyelashes: "Why do you have to mock me, elder sister? We are sisters-in-law, and we can take care of each other. Isn't that better than you living under someone else's roof and having to watch the prince's wife's face in the future?"

"You!" Granny Qin was so angry she almost laughed. She opened her mouth to curse, but seeing the half-smile on Shen Tangning's lips, she barely managed to swallow her curses, her chest heaving.

How could there be such a shameless person!

Shen Tangning didn't even feel angry. Some people in this world are indeed different from others, incredibly stupid.

She suppressed her smile and said in a cool tone, "If you insist, for the sake of being sisters, I will show you two clear paths."

Shen Xiwei raised her head and saw that her face was cold. "Well, your biggest obstacle right now is the Lady Hou. People eat grains and vegetables, and it's inevitable that they will have health problems. If the Lady Hou falls ill and can't get out of bed, she won't have the time to worry about the young master's marriage."

Realizing the deeper meaning in her words, Shen Xiwei's eyes widened in surprise. She quickly lowered her eyes, bit her lip, and asked timidly, "What about the second one?"

Shen Tangning suddenly smiled and said, "Secondly, why don't you hope that your own belly will work its magic and give birth to a son, so that the young master can have his firstborn son?"

Before the wife even entered the family, the concubine was already pregnant. In any family, this would make people think twice about whether it was worth marrying into such a family.

Seeing that Shen Xiwei's eyes seemed thoughtful, Shen Tangning knew that she had taken it to heart. She added in a low, meaningful tone, "If he is still the only son of the Crown Prince, that would be even better."

Shen Xiwei looked surprised, staring blankly as if she had been frightened.

Shen Tangning chuckled: "I was just saying it casually, Second Sister, just listen to it casually. As for whether to take it into consideration, that's none of my business."

When Shen Xiwei left, her steps were unsteady.

"Why should Miss be so kind as to give her advice?" Granny Qin pursed her lips.

Shen Tangning smiled and said, "You're joking, Granny. I didn't mean any harm."
