Chapter 205 Plum Blossom Birthmark (2/2)

The woman quickly put down what she was holding and ran to call for help.

The old woman found a low stool for her to sit on. Yun An glanced at it and frowned deeply. It was dusty and filthy.

"How can I sit on something so dirty?"

The old woman's face stiffened, and she looked somewhat embarrassed.

Shen Ci was somewhat speechless. He stepped forward, wiped the surface, and said indifferently, "It's like this. If it's not clean, you can stand if you don't want to sit."

"You!" Yun An bit her lip, her legs throbbing with pain again. She sat down with difficulty, silently pondering ways to torment Chen Ci.

"Grandma, we have a guest?" Yun'an was startled when someone suddenly jumped out of the house.

The man was dark-skinned and muscular, standing there like a small mountain. He stared intently at Yun An, seemingly mesmerized, and swallowed hard.

She frowned in disgust and warned coldly, "Look at me again..."

"Ahem." Shen Ci coughed softly beside him. Although Yun An was dissatisfied, he swallowed his words and turned his head away to avoid seeing it.

An old woman standing nearby chimed in, "To be honest, I felt an immediate connection with the young lady the moment I saw her."

Yun An pursed her lips; she hadn't seen such a clumsy attempt to get close to someone in a long time.

"If my granddaughter were still alive, she would be about the same age as this young lady," the old woman said, feigning melancholy as her wrinkles gathered together.

Yun An was getting impatient and gave a perfunctory smile: "From what you're saying, your granddaughter is gone?"

"That's not quite right. She was given away right after she was born... and her whereabouts are still unknown!" The old woman wiped her eyes and sighed. "I remember she had a birthmark on her right arm!"

Yun An froze, silently clenching her fists. She controlled herself to keep from losing her composure and looked at Shen Ci imperiously: "Go and see why those idiots haven't come yet!"

Shen Ci glanced at her, as if he was used to being ordered around, and walked out silently.

Watching Shen Ci leave, Yun An took a deep breath, turned his head and stared intently at the old woman, his eyes darkening: "Do you remember what that birthmark looked like?"

The old woman avoided her gaze, frowned, and pondered for a moment: "It looks like a plum blossom! Yes, there's no mistake!"

Yun An's pupils dilated suddenly, and his heart sank to the bottom!

It was because she had a plum blossom birthmark on her right arm.

She was filled with doubt and unease. Not many people knew about this matter to begin with, so it was impossible for this country woman to have known about it beforehand!

Could it be...?

...

Shen Ci led the guards back to the courtyard and saw Yun An looking absent-minded. A hint of something unreadable appeared in his eyes.

The guard was filled with trepidation: "I am late, Your Highness, please forgive me!"

Yun An secretly cursed; it was too late to stop them now.

"Princess?!" The old woman's eyes widened in surprise, and she knelt down tremblingly. "This humble woman did not know that a princess had arrived. I have been very rude!"

Seeing the family kneeling on the ground, Yun An felt much of her fear dissipate.

That's right, that's how it should be. This kind of lowly person should bow down and kneel, and never even think about having any relationship with her in this lifetime!

But at the same time, a strong sense of unease swept in.

If these people ever shamelessly try to curry favor with her and then expose this matter to the Emperor…

No, she absolutely cannot let that happen!

Better to kill the innocent than let the guilty go free!
