Chapter 67 Are you familiar with him?

Lu Shiyan said nothing, but silently pulled over a chair next to him and sat down steadily. Then, he calmly picked up a glass of water and took a sip, as if everything that had just happened had nothing to do with him.

Wen Ning looked at him like this and inexplicably found him endearing. It was awkward. He was jealous, so what? Why wouldn't he admit it? She was so attractive, so what was wrong with him being a little jealous? Only when she wasn't jealous would she feel less attractive.

Wen Ning also pulled up a chair and sat down, resting his chin on his hands. He didn't explain, but looked at him with amusement and asked, "Do you know Song Yunshu?"

"Are you very familiar with him?" When Lu Shiyan saw her ask, his thoughts returned from the window. He looked at her indifferently, then gently raised his eyelashes, turned his face slightly, and asked softly.

Wen Ning was about to respond jokingly when the waiter suddenly came over with a pot, interrupting their conversation. Lu Shiyan and Wen Ning's vision was blocked by the steaming hot pot, and for a moment, neither could clearly see the other's expression.

The waiter placed the pot on the table and quickly left his seat, politely saying "Enjoy your meal" before leaving. Suddenly, the entire room became exceptionally quiet, with only the sound of the boiling soup in the hot pot remaining.

Lu Shiyan and Wen Ning also stared at each other silently through the white mist. Their eyes met, but there seemed to be an invisible barrier between them, making the atmosphere seem awkward and tense.

Time seemed to freeze at this moment, and everything around them became unusually quiet. Only the aroma of the hot pot filled the air, reminding them.

After a long pause, Wen Ning smiled and explained to him seriously, "We're not familiar with each other. This is our second time meeting."

Lu Shiyan also put away the inquiring look he had just had, his eyes returning to calm, as if the person questioning him just now was not him. He said in a calm tone: "If we are not familiar with each other, why are you calling me so intimately?"

As soon as these words came out, there seemed to be a subtle atmosphere in the air, making people feel that he was a little jealous for no reason.

"Oh, because his name is Song Yunshu?" Wen Ning said to him with a playful wink, a hint of innocence in her expression. She was puzzled. He was just that name, so what was wrong with her calling him by his first name? Did she have to call him Mr. Song?

Lu Shiyan pursed his lips. He'd only met her twice, and she was already calling him Song Yunshu? If they'd met more often, wouldn't she be calling him Yunshu? He'd been with her for over a month, yet why hadn't she ever called him by his name? Instead, she'd been calling him "Mr. Lu" or "Master Lu." However, he didn't say this out loud. It would have been a joke. If it got out, how could he, Lu Shiyan, save his dignity?

However, Lu Shiyan had wronged her. Wen Ning called him that because he actually had some hidden agenda. Calling him that gave him a different feeling, but unfortunately, she would not tell him.

"Let's eat." Lu Shiyan didn't want to dwell on this issue. If he kept dwelling on it, it would make him seem petty. He wouldn't argue with someone who had just returned to China a few days ago. That would be ungraceful and damage his image. After all, he wasn't a crazy man or a resentful woman. If it got out, wouldn't everyone laugh at him?

Lu Shiyan served her a bowl of mushroom soup in a very gentlemanly manner. The mushrooms were specially airlifted from a mushroom-producing province. They were picked from the mountains and airlifted to the restaurant within just one day. Before the mushrooms had time to react, they had already turned into a pot of soup, still retaining their own freshness. However, this was still a priceless soup. Only those who made an appointment in advance or people of a certain status could eat such a delicious mushroom soup.

Wen Ning took a sip, her eyes narrowing. She had never imagined she'd be able to enjoy such a delicious soup in her lifetime. For the past twenty years, she'd been so busy enjoying hot pot and other snacks with her bestie that she'd forgotten to try this simple, watery delicacy. She'd truly missed out on so many years. If Lu Shiyan hadn't brought her here today, she wouldn't have known such a delicacy existed.

"Isn't this soup incredibly delicious?" Wen Ning said to him with a satisfied look on her face. She felt that for a foodie like her, this was a truly remarkable achievement.

Seeing her eyes narrowed in enjoyment, Lu Shiyan couldn't help but laugh and explained softly, "Of course, delicacies from land and sea are never in vain. Otherwise, why do you think people go to the mountains to pick mushrooms every time mushroom season comes? Just for a mouthful of this delicious soup."

Worse still, every year, people get poisoned by mushrooms, yet every year, some don't learn their lesson. They pick wave after wave of mushrooms, only to be poisoned again and again, yet they stubbornly claim the mushrooms weren't cooked properly. They'd rather believe their cooking skills aren't up to par than that the mushrooms are poisonous.

Wen Ning sipped the incredibly delicious soup and listened to his explanation. Now, she finally believed the online jokes. Before, she couldn't understand why these people never learned their lesson. She was also very curious: were these mushrooms really that delicious? But now, as she drank the soup that astonished her taste buds, she accepted it. If she lived there, she might be even crazier than them. She'd probably go all over the mountains and forests, digging deep underground to pick the hidden mushrooms and prevent them from breathing air.

The two of them ate in a very elegant and noble manner, which was pleasing to the eye.

The two of them quietly enjoyed the warm lunch time, with the air filled with a strong aroma of freshness.

After eating, Wen Ning slumped back in her chair and rubbed her stomach. She admitted that she had definitely eaten the most today; it was all so delicious. She felt like she'd completely disregarded her image for the sheer she cared about eating. But what did it matter? Being able to eat was a blessing.

She rubbed her round belly and looked at him with a hint of pity. After Lu Shiyan paid the bill, he looked at her with some confusion and asked, "What's wrong?"

She sighed helplessly, patted her stomach gently with her hand, and said truthfully: "I'm too full and can't walk anymore."

The air suddenly became quiet. Looking at her like this, Lu Shiyan didn't know whether to laugh or not. He sighed helplessly: "I told you not to be greedy."

"Who made it so delicious?" Wen Ning looked innocent, blaming the soup for seducing him.

"Then take a rest first and go back later." Lu Shiyan said to her while sitting opposite her.

"Okay." Wen Ning couldn't ask for more. She was eager to spend more time with him outside the office. He was usually at the office, so how could he have such leisurely time to sit with her?

Shouldn't she take this opportunity to make her presence felt?

I don't know what she was thinking about, but she suddenly asked, "Have you ever brought other women to eat here before?"
