Chapter 335: True Heart for True Heart
Lyle felt uneasy walking in the thick fog.
He was following the messenger from the Land of Contract on his way to the gathering point. Although he had done enough psychological preparation before coming, he still overestimated his ability to bear it. He always felt that those outlines in the thick fog were his hometown, so every time he passed by those new villages, he would be terrified. After finding out that they were not his hometown, he would be relieved, but in the end he would become melancholy again.
This experience tortured him over and over again, until he could no longer bear it and decided to do something to distract himself.
So he naturally turned his target to the messenger leading the way ahead.
"Hey, brother." Lyle strode forward, walking side by side with the stern messenger. "How long will it take us to get there?"
The messenger replied calmly: "Almost."
What do you mean almost?
It's just the two of us, can't we make ourselves clear?
Lyle was very dissatisfied, but he did not show it because he was afraid that the messenger would ignore him.
So he asked, "Brother, are you me?"
The messenger gave him a warning look, as if he was taking him for a fool.
"Well, you should be the real person. You and your master have different eyes." Lyle made a judgment, "His eyes are more, um - is he a woman?"
"Don't ask questions you shouldn't ask."
"How can I know if I should ask if I don't ask?" Lyle said, "If you encounter something taboo, you can just tell me."
The messenger ignored Lyle.
But Lyle was thick-skinned enough as a black businessman, so he continued to try to get closer: "I think we should have a lot to talk about. After all, we are the same kind of people, the kind of puppets - I mean, agents, this profession is not common."
"I'm different from you."
"What's the difference?"
"I will not betray my master," the messenger said calmly, "but you will."
"Hey, look at what you said. How could I betray my someone?" Lyle almost blurted out Visas' name, but he quickly changed his words and looked at the messenger carefully. He was relieved when he found that the messenger didn't seem to notice anything unusual. He continued, "And my relationship with that gentleman is different from yours. That gentleman and I are partners, but you and the lady above you are a master and servant - well, it seems that we are indeed a little different, but it's still pretty much the same."
The messenger originally didn't want to pay any attention to Lyle. After all, as long as he knew that this guy was just a puppet, there was nothing to take seriously.
But at this time, Diana's voice rang in his mind.
"Talk to him, find out who he is and why he is willing to work for the Tongue. Be natural and don't let it slip that I asked you to do this."
The messenger's expression did not change after receiving the instruction. He just nodded slightly and said, "Maybe."
This is in response to Lyle's previous statement.
"Is that so? As expected, you agree with it." Lyle looked at the messenger with a smile, "Then we can definitely find some common topics to talk about."
"Okay." The messenger nodded. "Then let me ask you first, who are you?"
"You're being too straightforward."
"I won't be tactful."
