Zhong Kai’s matter has come to an end for the time being. Although nothing was said explicitly, a rift has appeared in their relationship and it will never be possible to go back to the way it was before.
As for whether to send him back to Earth, although they had considered it, neither side could bring themselves to bring it up. This was because it would be a disguised severance of ties, meaning they would never see each other again, let alone appear in each other's worlds.
So, the two of them tacitly agreed not to bring up the matter, as if they had forgotten about it. Whenever they bumped into each other, they would just glance at each other and pass by silently. It was as if they were strangers...
Furthermore, the explorer civilization guarding the solar system would not allow an extraordinary human like Zhong Kai to return to Earth. Doing so would only affect their observation and experimentation of human civilization. Worse still, they might even choose to shoot down the enemy.
Chang Wei is not so heartless and cruel, so he will not force Zhong Kai to go back to die. He has to put the matter aside and hope that there will be changes in the future!
Meanwhile, Palpatine was being held accountable by Chang Wei. Surrounded by a group of guards, they watched him intently. If he didn't give a reasonable explanation today, his fate would surely not be good.
"Why teach him the dark side of the Force? To tempt him to fall?"
Palpatine didn't panic, but politely said, "The dark side of the Force is just a force, not good or evil. It can only bring out the darkest side of a person's heart, so that they can see themselves clearly. If you can't control this power, can't face your own darkness, and are consumed by it, then there is no way to move forward to a higher level. He is very talented, and I am only giving him an opportunity, a direction to move forward."
"I can sense his deep love for you, his desire to constantly become stronger to help you, to close the distance between us. I can sense the immense gap he feels deep within. When you were young, you were friends. As you grew up, you were brothers. As you matured, one became the 'boss' and the other just an 'employee'. Even if you maintain a good relationship on the surface, an invisible gap in aura and status will form. Over time, this relationship will become a burden and pressure for him."
"And you, in your fleet management, don't have the time and energy to constantly counsel and consider the other party's feelings. You have to know that a three-foot-thick ice doesn't form overnight. There were actually signs that things had developed to this point, but you just didn't notice..."
"However, this is also his test! It is the path he has chosen! To achieve the perfect balance of the Force and become a Jedi, he must learn to face himself, understand himself, and then control himself. And only he can do this..."
Chang Wei closed his eyes and took in the thought carefully.
Indeed! I had indeed become estranged from him because I was busy with the fleet's work. You know, in his eyes, I was the only one in the entire fleet who could really talk to him, and those crew members were probably just treated as NPCs...
Sighing inwardly, Chang Wei opened his eyes again, looked at Palpatine and said, "You've passed. This won't happen again!"
After leaving these words, Chang Wei stood up and left. Palpatine also bowed and humbly greeted him. At the same time, he said something meaningful: "You can trust me completely, because I will never betray you!"
Chang Wei stopped and glanced at him, said nothing, and then left again.
Palpatine's words suddenly reminded Chang Wei. The system ensured that recruited NPCs would never betray. So... if they used the system, like they had done with the Hardbone Force and the Star of Hope, and recruited Zhong Kai into the fleet, could they avoid his betrayal?
Never underestimate the wisdom and means of any born villain. Their every word and action is full of meaning.
Chang Wei had unknowingly been led into a wrong way of thinking by Palpatine's words.
Little did he know that once he had this idea, his relationship with Zhong Kai was no longer friendship, but one of exploitation.
Would Zhong Kai accept such a system contract? Obviously, it was impossible, and it would only deepen the estrangement and misunderstanding between the two!
As for why Palpatine did this? Maybe it was just for fun...
Compared to Chang Wei, who tends towards light and hope, he prefers to constantly guide him to become a decisive, ruthless, cold and domineering Chang Wei. This way, many of his thoughts and decisions will be consistent with his own values, thus making himself more physically and mentally happy in his future assistance. Hehehehehehe.............
Chang Wei didn't know Palpatine's true intentions. He was still hesitant about whether to sign a system contract with Zhong Kai.
He stayed quietly in his office, thinking all night long, and could not fall asleep for a long time. Then, he looked at the neatly arranged bookshelf behind him, where he kept reading...
Because Chang Wei does not have any extraordinary talents, he can only rely on continuous reading and learning to improve himself, to better manage the fleet, to continuously break through the siege in command operations, and to create all kinds of miracles!
Chang Wei suddenly picked up a book at random and started reading it.
The name of the book is "Tao Te Ching". Although it is an ancient book, many of the principles in it will never be out of date no matter what era it is in.
