(Bonus for Ye Siyu from Jaluit Atoll for sending out five consecutive "God Certification" bonus updates! Today is the fourth bonus update.)
The story of Warhammer 40,000, through its imagination, was captured by Games Workshop, a game company owned by John Bull, and a related series of tabletop war games was produced. Later, it was developed into various derivative works, as well as 2D and 3D games.
Its worldview and background are quite vast, and it would take tens of thousands of words to describe it completely. So, here is just a brief introduction.
In Warhammer 40,000, history is often measured in millennia or even tens of thousands of years. Amidst this vast and bleak backdrop, there are the Sisters of Battle, steeped in medieval Gothic style; the Chaos Legions, deeply influenced by post-war Western apocalyptic themes; the Orks, imbued with North American hip-hop and street culture; the Eldar, a futuristic projection of the elegant elves in fantasy settings; the Imperial Guard, beloved by military enthusiasts and those devoted to World War I and World War II history; the Tyranids, a homage to the Alien; and the Necrons, steeped in Eastern influences, reminiscent of the Tau Empire and the Machine Dynasty.
This mixture has resulted in every race in this world being extremely xenophobic, and every force being evil, or in other words, each force has its own "justice", which differs only in degree at most.
For example, the human empire is often considered the "righteous" side. Although there are many good people within it, as a whole, it is a militaristic, indifferent to human life, extremely corrupt, and a hopelessly xenophobic, fascist state. However, from another perspective, working all day assembling rifles is better than working all day and then being killed by aliens.
The original plot and related settings of "Warhammer 40K" are very long, and I will write about them slowly later.
In simple terms, the Warhammer world story mode and the appearance of each faction are roughly as follows:
The Astra Militarum and the Tau fought fiercely for the planet. The Tau had no psychic powers and were isolated from the news. They thought the Human Empire was trash, so they madly provoked and ridiculed the Astra Militarum, calling them "stinking younger brothers."
When the Astra Militarum couldn't win, they started calling for the Astartes. When the Astartes arrived, they found that the Chaos Cans were beginning to corrode the Astra Militarum, so they started fighting with the Chaos Cans again.
The Orks, a bunch of greenskins, were overjoyed to see a fight. They all yelled "WAAAAAGH!" and then, after picking up scrap metal, began to climb the technology ladder.
The Eldar prophet had predicted something again and came to intervene. He looked over and saw, damn! The Tyranids were already at the door! Then he calculated with his fingers and realized it was the Astra Militarum that had brought them here.
Then, several groups of people engaged in a fierce battle, but their battle successfully awakened the Necrons sleeping in the tomb.
As the conflict between the various races intensified, the Greenskins had unknowingly gone from a primitive, unarmed tribe to the ancient Juji! (The Orks were a race that grew stronger with the technological advancement of their enemies. It was completely illogical; just randomly picking up some junk and putting it together would create a significant technological strength.)
In addition, the warp in "Warhammer 40K" is also very interesting.
The Warp is an infinite dimension constructed of pure psychic energy, also known as the Supreme Heaven, the Immaterial Universe, Hell, the Realm of Souls, the Home of Demons, etc.
In essence, it's a Lovecraftian vision of hyperdimensional space. That is, the Warp is the abode of the Chaos Gods, a strange, dark parallel dimension to the material universe where the laws of physics don't apply and everything is composed of the emotions and thoughts of intelligent beings in the real world.
There, it is filled with all kinds of violent, inciting, disgusting and pornographic content, and they are all alive, real nightmares, and they always want to rush into the real universe and love you well.
Of course, there are some relatively friendly entities in the Warp, but the problem is that these entities are basically, except for the Emperor who is trapped on Terra as a light bulb, those Eldar gods who only pop up once every few thousand years to cause trouble and are useless after that.
As for other good entities, they are either too weak to be of any use, are simply consumed by Chaos, or are quickly degraded into evil due to the suffering and madness of the real world. In short, 99% of the things in the Warp want to kill you and eat your soul.
Of course, the Warp wasn't always like this. It was during the ancient war of the War in Heaven that the rage, grief, hatred, and death unleashed by the psionic races transformed the Warp from a dimension as peaceful and harmonious as a yoga studio into the horrible state it is today.
But the Eldar seemed to think that this was not enough, so they mobilized the entire country to hold parties, drink heavily, and engage in BDSM, until they finally gave birth to Slaanesh, one of the four evil gods of the Warp, and destroyed their own empire. It was a great job.
Because the Warp lacks the concept of time, it and the Chaos Gods that inhabit it existed long before the emergence of intelligent life. In other words, it exists only in two states: "being" and "non-being," without a "beginning" or "end." Represented as a straight line on the timeline rather than a ray or segment, any being born at any given moment exists simultaneously in the past and the future.
If he had not recruited the legendary battleship and possessed the space-time technology of a level 6 civilization, Chang Wei felt that there was no chance of success in his rescue mission!
Of course, relying on the current configuration of the Light Chaser Fleet, it is still very difficult to defeat the four evil gods. However, Chang Wei believes in science!
