Chapter 225 Distress Signal

"Commander! We've detected a wide range of psychic fluctuations. The surrounding space, spanning several light years, has been distorted by this highly penetrating psychic energy. This force is even capable of preventing the sending and receiving of some information."

"What's going on?" Chang Wei immediately asked Matt Horner with a serious face.

Soon, a staff officer reported, "Sir! We've detected a massive void shadow approaching us. Based on intelligence comparison, it's likely a Tyranid Hive Fleet. They number 1.5 billion! They possess a large number of biological warships and Sky Witches."

Sky Witches, a large air force unit in the Tyranid Hive Fleet, resemble tyrants and are powerful biological weapons that can perfectly control the air and operate in a vacuum environment.

Weapons include: spit cannon, tentacle missiles, sickle wings, forehead tail stinger, explosive stinger, etc.

Their sheer numbers and variety make them difficult for even an Imperial ace pilot to defeat in a one-on-one situation. During the Battle of Santa Melia-Salias, a single Sky Witch often defeated several Valkyries. They are one of the Imperium's most formidable adversaries!

However, this kind of strength is obviously not enough in front of the current Light Chaser Fleet.

After more than a year of development and the opening of the Changwei system, the current strength of the Light Chaser Fleet is no longer what it used to be!

The Legion's fleet alone boasted a massive 100,000 ships! Its primary fleet consisted of 35 super battleships! Five of these were Level VI Civilization warships, 14 were Level 5 Civilization warships, and one flagship, the Hyperion, had been upgraded to Level 5. The remainder were all upgraded Level 4 Civilization warships.

Furthermore, the Light Chaser fleet had received 56 Level 5 civilization technology upgrades, bringing its overall strength to a whole new level. While the firepower and performance parameters of most of these warships couldn't compare to true Level 5 civilization warships, almost all of them were equipped with warp drives, allowing them to rapidly maneuver across the universe alongside the main force at any time.

In addition, there's the planetary mobile fortress, "Star of Hope." Not only does it boast stronger defenses, more powerful firepower, and longer endurance, but its superweapon output is also a terrifying deterrent! It's perfect for sieges and protracted battles of attrition!

So, let alone a direct attack, the Light Chaser fleet could easily kite the enemy if they chose. The only real threats to the Light Chaser fleet that needed attention were the Warp's evil gods and the unpredictable psychic powers of the various races.

Since everyone knew they were coming to the Warhammer 40,000 universe, how could Chang Wei not prepare in advance? Not only had the approximate strength and military introductions of each race been distributed, but various countermeasures had also been developed...

In short, it is technological crushing plus information advantage!

Chang Wei glanced at the console, his expression calm as he saw the shadowy figures in the void approaching his fleet. After all, he had experienced and commanded wars on even larger scales and on a cosmic scale in the Star Wars universe. So, he didn't panic, but immediately gave his orders.

"All troops, listen! Form a crane-wing formation and fire three rounds of long-range volleys to deplete the enemy's manpower. Then, dispatch the First Legion of Fury to finish the job."

The Hive Fleet was only at the level of a Level 4 Civilization Fleet. If Chang Wei hadn't just thrown out the "Spear of Dimension" to test the space combat capabilities of the Fury First Legion, the enemy might have collapsed! Not to mention those space-time weapons, dimensional weapons, and black hole weapons. It's estimated that in one encounter, this Hive Fleet would be gone.

Chang Wei had a rough understanding. In the Warhammer 40,000 universe, only the Necrons had achieved a sufficiently advanced level of technology. As for the other races, they were all more or less dependent on the Warp, resulting in their technology not only failing to make significant advancements over tens of thousands of years, but even falling behind in some cases!

Soon, the densely packed warships were like a gorgeous dance performed in space. They were in good order, weaving back and forth, and quickly formed a huge crane-wing formation.

Then, under the order to fire from their respective captains, the dazzling and dense rain of light beams instantly drew a "musical score" of death in space.

Boom boom boom boom! Even without hearing the sound, the ship-borne radar clearly showed that the Hive Fleet had suffered heavy damage! A volley of fire from a hundred thousand warships was no joke! In the era of Warhammer 40,000, where boarding was king, the tactics of the Lightseeker fleet were clearly more mature and advanced! Furthermore, their weapons had a longer range, were more targeted, and could constantly switch between various tactical modes according to the battlefield situation.

This was already a dimensionality reduction attack, and there wasn't much suspense at all. This Hive Fleet was quite imposing, but they had clearly chosen the wrong opponent.

After the three rounds of salvos, Chang Wei ordered the fleet of Furui's First Legion to attack! He himself turned his attention to the planet below.

"Matt Horner, is that planet human territory? Have any traces of humans been found on it?"

Matt Horner replied, "After a close-in scan, we discovered a hive-like complex on this planet. Preliminary confirmation suggests it belongs to the Empire. Furthermore, we discovered a humanoid species wreaking havoc and killing people within the hive. Optical detection indicates that the hive's docks, spires, and other upper areas have been captured. The exact number of casualties is unknown!"

"However, we have received a distress signal. Would you like to listen to it, sir?"
