Chapter 3 Mission Begins

Time was running out, and Chang Wei knew he had to quickly familiarize himself with the Hyperion, otherwise he would be at a loss once the mission began.

And his cancer also depends on the nano medical cabin on the Hyperion.

It would be bad if you fainted from the pain during a rescue mission.

Thinking of this, Chang Wei immediately ordered the system to start summoning the Hyperion.

"System, deploy the Hyperion in space near Neptune."

The system quickly replied with a message.

"Hyperion, deployment complete. Host, would you like to board now?"

Chang Wei agreed immediately without thinking.

"Get aboard!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Chang Wei saw his body begin to decompose, turning into a stream of data, and disappearing from the spot bit by bit.

This magical experience made him open his eyes wide involuntarily, hold his breath, and exclaim that it was incredible.

The next second, when Chang Wei opened his eyes again, he had arrived at the bridge of a sci-fi battleship.

The floor here is made entirely of metal, giving it an air of grandeur and majesty. Crew members come and go, each doing their own thing, making the place appear bustling and orderly.

The bridge's bulkheads are covered with thick protective armor, which reflects a faint blue light, giving people an ultimate sense of security.

Various control buttons and display screens are scattered on the empty walls, showing important data such as the warship's performance parameters, energy distribution, and navigation route.

In the center of the massive bridge is a spacious and advanced command console, surrounded by high-tech control panels, monitors, and projectors.

On the left and right sides and in front of the bridge are panoramic portholes, through which you can see the vast starry sky outside, as well as Neptune, which is right in front of you and emits a blue light, and its five rings.

Obviously, this is the Hyperion, a behemoth-class battlecruiser. Inside the bridge is a command and operation center that combines technology, strength and determination!

Just as Chang Wei was still looking around curiously, a man with a crew cut and wearing a high-end military uniform walked up to him and saluted him with a standard military salute.

"Welcome back, sir. The Hyperion is in good condition and ready to attack at any time."

Chang Wei was instantly attracted by the voice and immediately looked towards him. The person who spoke was none other than the captain of the Hyperion: Matt Horner.

Matt Horner is a passionate and idealistic man with a strong sense of justice. He is young, smart, and has ideals. Most importantly, he is not satisfied with his current boring life.

When Raynor rebelled against Mengsk out of conscience, Matt Horner became his first follower.

After Raynor's Rangers captured Mengsk's flagship, the Hyperion, in the Battle of Dalarion Shipyard, he naturally became the best candidate for the captain of the Hyperion.

In the following years, as the captain of the Hyperion, he commanded the Ranger fleet and participated in many of Renault's military operations. He was an extremely trustworthy subordinate.

Chang Wei locked eyes with him and couldn't help swallowing. After all, he was a college student who had just dropped out of school, while the other party was a battle-hardened space battleship captain. His aura was completely overwhelming!

But then he thought that he might have replaced Lei Ritian's position and become his superior, and with the system's endorsement, he bravely spoke to him.

"Matt, report our current location."

Just as Chang Wei expected, Matt did not show any abnormality, but accepted the order and reported respectfully.

"Sir, the Hyperion is currently located near Neptune, in the outer reaches of the solar system. Our fuel supply can last for another ten years, barring a major conflict. However, repair parts for our troops and ships are extremely scarce, and the crew only has thirty days' supply left."

"So, Commander, you need to plan the next mission. It would be best if you could find a starport for supplies..."

Chang Wei is a fan of interstellar games and novels, so he quickly got into the mood.

"Don't worry about the mission. We'll have work to do soon. Now take me to the medical bay. I've contracted a serious illness and need immediate treatment."

"Yes, sir."

..............................................

When Chang Wei woke up from the nano-medical cabin, all the cancer cells in his body had been killed. He was also injected with a tube of cheap nutritional medicine for a quick recovery of his physical condition.

Therefore, Chang Wei now feels refreshed and especially relaxed.

"I was in the late stages of cancer and was ready to wait for death in my hometown. I never expected to encounter such an opportunity. Until now, it still feels like a dream, unreal..."

After sighing, he, accompanied by Matt, took a general tour of other areas of the Hyperion.

Just like the setting in the game, I met Swan in the armory of the arsenal, met Steadman in the laboratory, and met those powerful mercenaries in the bar.

Such as: War Pigs (Marine), Demon Dogs (Fire Bats), Hammer Security (Marauders), Spartan Company (Goliath Armed Robots), Siegebreakers (Siege Tanks), Hell's Angels (Viking Fighters), Dusk Wings (Banshees), Jackson's Revenge (Battle Cruiser).
