Honestly, Palpatine was quite capable. After all, he had served as Speaker of the Galactic Senate and Emperor of the Galactic Empire. He possessed the ability to control people's hearts and manipulate the direction of the political situation, and he also had his own unique insights and formidable strength.
Furthermore, due to his systematic recruitment, his loyalty was practically unquestionable. However, this individual possessed a sinister and ruthless character. Chang Wei looked at him expressionlessly. Sometimes he thought his attitude was quite good. If he were stripped of everything and allowed to retire in the Light Chaser Fleet, never to see the world again, then... that wouldn't be a bad ending. But as a big-time scheming person who could lie dormant for decades to achieve his own goals, would he really choose to stay in peace?
Chang Wei didn't want to take the gamble, as facts had proven. These NPCs recruited by the system, like real people, possessed highly intelligent, emotional, and autonomous powers. While they wouldn't rebel, they could turn good intentions into bad ones, causing Chang Wei considerable trouble and distress.
Based on the intelligence Chang Wei currently possessed, combined with his own speculation, these so-called NPCs were likely similar to the Hardbone Troops, ELS, Alice, and the Protoss, entities that had signed contracts with the system. They were supposed to be "real people" from their own worlds, then dispatched here for some reason, recruited by the system host, and then disguised as NPCs, obeying the system host's orders.
In other words, once the relationship with them becomes unpleasant, or even causes resentment and hatred, there is a certain possibility that they will find ways to circumvent the system regulations to trip up Chang Wei.
Of course, all this is Chang Wei's guess, but he estimates...it should be very close to the truth!
"Palpatine, I need you to go to Earth and check out its current situation. If possible, you will be allowed to demonstrate extraordinary strength to test the reactions of various countries. This may be accompanied by some risks, but with your Force perception, you should be able to handle it with ease."
Palpatine asked doubtfully, "Warmaster, what is this Earth? Is it an advanced civilization full of dangers?"
Palpatine was recruited later, so he didn't know the information about the Seeker civilization and Earth. But this was also a good thing, as it happened to make it easier for Chang Wei to act.
"Earth is a backward, low-level civilization, inhabited by many ordinary humans. Its political situation is divided, and there's no global unified government. However, within their society, there are members of a more advanced civilization hidden within. I need you to investigate. Perhaps, from the reactions of various countries, you can find some clues..."
When Palpatine heard that the other party was an inferior civilization and the Force did not warn him, he did not take the mission seriously and gladly accepted it.
"Okay, Warmaster. I will obey your orders and head to Earth immediately. As for the plan I proposed last time, please consider it carefully. Although it may be a bit cruel, it is for the best of everyone!"
Chang Wei nodded silently, indicating that he understood.
After he left, Zhong Kai emerged from his invisible state.
"How was it? Did he ever doubt it?"
Zhong Kai shook his head: "Under the blockade of my rule domain, he can't see that far into the future."
"That's good. I don't think he'll be able to come back this time. We can use his tests to test the bottom line and strength of the Seeker civilization. Then, as long as we don't cross that line, we might be able to secretly return to Earth to see how our home world is doing."
"Do you want to go back to your hometown? It seems... quite nice. The wanderer returns home, the fallen leaves return to their roots..." Zhong Kai's eyes flickered, his expression was strange, and he was muttering to himself.
