"Two planets with life?"
This was no small matter! Chang Wei's impression of extraterrestrial civilizations was either that of the morons who traveled thousands of miles to be killed in American superhero movies, or the hunters hiding in the dark forests in the novel "The Three-Body Problem."
The former loves to give away heads in various ways, and, influenced by the director's aura of low intelligence, each one is more generous than the other! Imagine a civilization capable of interstellar travel being brutally annihilated by a bunch of Earth natives still using fire sticks, barely reaching the first level of civilization. Even their "medical insurance cards," "pensions," and even their underwear were exposed. Isn't that hilarious?
The latter are a bunch of unscrupulous scoundrels, hiding in the shadows and carrying out cleanup missions when they have nothing better to do. Once civilization is exposed, there's always the risk of a surprise attack. Light particles, two-dimensional foil, water droplets, singularity bombs, low-energy vacuum balls—who can withstand a "Five Lightning Whips" attack?
Therefore, it is natural for Chang Wei to pay attention to it. Not paying attention to it would be the greatest irresponsibility to himself and the fleet!
So Chang Wei immediately went to the bridge with Xiao Ma, and asked in an urgent tone as they walked.
"Matt, have we discovered alien civilizations on those two life-bearing planets? What's their level of civilization? Do they have a space fleet? Or... have they already discovered us?"
Matt Horner shook his head.
"Sir, the real situation may be more complicated than you think."
"We have indeed discovered traces of civilization on those two life-bearing planets. However, through observation and research, we have determined that their civilization is at a very low level of development, perhaps only reaching level one at best."
"Also, judging by the large amount of ruins discovered and the remains of man-made structures destroyed in the planet's orbit, it seems they had fought a brutal war, which led to their civilization entering its apocalyptic state."
Chang Wei filtered out the useless stuff and went straight to the key points. He looked at Matt Horner and continued asking.
"Can they pose a threat to our fleet now?"
Matt Horner replied, "No, sir. They are in a very dire situation. They are practically trapped on the planet and struggling to survive in this apocalyptic environment."
As the two of them were talking, they arrived at the bridge of the Hyperion.
Without any nonsense, he directly ordered the crew to transfer and display the collected surveillance footage.
The two planets were similar in size, orbiting in the habitable zone of their star systems. However, one was covered in goose-feather ice and snow, appearing like a large white ball of ice. The other, on the other hand, was lush green but filled with a hazy miasma, appearing quite eerie.
Chang Wei raised his head and reached for the control panel. He put his five fingers together and with a flick of his finger, the image of the white planet was instantly magnified countless times. Before long, he could clearly see the interior of the planet.
It was a city covered in ice and snow. The whole scene was like the end of the world in extreme cold. The cold temperature and biting wind froze the entire city, and even the entire world.
The buildings and streetlights on the streets were covered with thick ice and snow, creating a poignant and beautiful scene of white. The whole city was filled with a cold and silent atmosphere, as if time had also been frozen.
The sky was filled with a gray hue, devoid of any hint of sunlight. A chilling wind whipped through, sweeping up the snow and ice, creating a swirling vortex. It was as if this icy planet had entered a never-ending winter!
Suddenly, Chang Wei saw a group of people struggling to move forward in the vast snow. They were wearing heavy clothes, their shoulders hunched, carrying supplies on sleds, and moving in one direction.
Due to the obstruction of clothing and the fact that he was looking down from a high altitude, Chang Wei did not immediately see the appearance of those figures.
Only after zooming in again and adjusting the image to another angle did Chang Wei see clearly that those "people" were not actually "people" but a group of humanoid creatures with Siberian wolf heads.
"This...is this a werewolf? Or a kobold?"
Chang Wei was surprised for a few seconds, then he looked away. Then he followed the same pattern and observed another green planet.
Just as he imagined, the other planet was also a world of doomsday disaster. However, this one was a biochemical crisis caused by a mutated virus.
Countless mutant beasts and zombies roamed everywhere, and the survivors were a group of humanoid creatures with cat heads.
They have established shelters or strongholds of various sizes around the world, and are fighting a desperate battle and struggling to survive in this dangerous apocalypse.
Seeing these...Chang Wei exclaimed, "Wow!"
It turns out that cats and dogs really exist! One was frozen into a dog on a frozen and desolate planet. The other was turned into a cat on a planet in a biochemical frenzy.
Cats? Dogs? What happened to you? How did you end up like this?
Chang Wei withdrew his thoughts, thought for a moment, and then gave instructions to Matt Horner.
"Dedicate some of your attention to monitoring these two planets. If you discover any potential safety hazards, report them immediately!"
"Yes! Sir!"
Chang Wei nodded and continued, "At the same time, our people have also begun to take action. I will deploy the eight newly recruited warships shortly. Then, we will work together to mine resources and build construction within this galaxy. It would be best if we could establish a basic factory before the next rescue mission arrives."
