Chapter 81 ELS and the Mind Network

ELS is a type of alien life form that lives in a colony. The lifespan of a star in its parent system has reached its end, causing it to expand and occasionally experience helium flashes. A helium flash is a very brief, runaway thermonuclear fusion phenomenon during the red giant phase.

The high temperature and high light it produces cause great ecological damage to the ELS's parent star, making it impossible for ELS to survive.

Therefore, before their mother star was devoured by the red giant, ELS began to expand to other galaxies in order to find a new way of survival, a new hope.

They separated from their mother planet, a moon-sized seed individual, and formed a huge cluster with many smaller individuals.

During their wanderings throughout space, the ELS discovered the existence of humans, an intelligent species. They sought human assistance, mimicking the forms of mecha and humans simply to communicate and exchange ideas. Assimilating human behavior is also a method of communication between the ELS and other alien species, fostering mutual understanding.

Because this can help ELS effectively obtain the molecular bond structure of humans, thereby understanding the basic composition of the human body at the physical and chemical level. Then, by mimicking and reconstructing the corresponding brain, it can simulate human thinking and consciousness. At least... ELS thinks so...

While ELS possess minds, their ideology differs significantly from that of humans. ELS are a group that communicates through brainwaves. Therefore, they are attracted to the brainwaves emitted by humans and reformers. When multiple brainwaves are present, they prioritize those with stronger brainwaves.

Because ELS also have a habit of devouring energy and minerals, groups that land on Earth tend to parasitize vehicles, solar power plants, and other facilities. While they remain living organisms, they will fragment and cease activity if they receive significant damage. However, if another ELS approaches, they will reactivate.

Furthermore, ELS possesses the ability to devour other matter from its contact areas. Once an object comes into contact with ELS, the contact area begins to be corroded by a crystalline metal film, eventually devouring all targets within, including humans. To prevent this, the infected area must be removed before the erosion spreads.

The ELS also possess the ability to learn the abilities of their opponents, mimicking not only mobile suits, cruisers, and their weapons, but also particle beams and GN fields. They can also rapidly analyze and neutralize human weapon attacks. They're truly a terrifying race!

Today, there are three main types of ELS known.

Small, large and extra large.

Small ELS are the most numerous and operate in groups. They're only about the size of a mecha's arm, but their speed is astonishing, even surpassing the speed of a TRANS-AM Gundam in its GN-compressed particle burst. These small ELS can be roughly categorized into three types: cone-shaped, blade-shaped, and square-rod-shaped.

They primarily capture and erode their targets, much like darts hitting a target. Furthermore, small ELS are not well-suited to transforming into objects larger than themselves, so when mimicking mobile suits, they are usually formed by fusing multiple units together.

Large ELS are as large as a human space battleship. They are less numerous than small ELS and resemble metallic squids with multiple tentacles.

The Super-Large ELS is a 3,000-kilometer-diameter object, almost the size of the Moon. Its appearance resembles a giant sphere formed by a complex web of tree roots, with small extensions at the top and bottom resembling antennas or cell towers. The surrounding ring-shaped dust cloud is actually a cluster of smaller ELSs.

The super-large ELS serves as the command center for the ELS group. It is a unique entity, its interior covered with a crystalline material. By exposing this material, it can effectively defend against attacks such as giant particle beam cannons. Furthermore, deep within it lies the central unit that houses all ELS memory information.

This central department is Chang Wei’s current target of action.

After quickly going over the information about ELS in his mind, Chang Wei looked at the battlefield outside the bridge window with a sharp gaze and sighed softly.

"Every intelligent species desires survival and continuation. However, their vast differences lead to misunderstandings and prejudices with other intelligent species. Without direct means of communication, I truly cannot imagine any other way to perfectly resolve this dilemma."

Thinking of this, Chang Wei looked at Steadman on the communication screen again and asked.

"Stadman, how long will it take you over there? Hasn't the large-scale psionic generator been debugged yet? The ELS has already started attacking us."

On the screen, Steadman was frantically fiddling with a machine. Without turning around, he said, "Sir, it'll be there soon. It's mainly about covering the entire battlefield with a psychic network. The psychic energy required is enormous. I think... it'll take a while. About 15 minutes, almost."

15 minutes? Not unacceptable.

"Okay, Steadman, I'll have Swann cooperate with you. The Phalanx's powerful shields will withstand all attacks. We'll carry you close to the large ELS and use the Draken laser drill's 124 billion watts of energy to gently rip a large hole in it."

"When the time comes, the mental network will explode and will be able to flow through this large hole and affect the core of the super-large ELS. This will allow it to establish a mental link with the large psionic generator!"

"Remember, never connect to it with your brain. Our supercomputer will help us process and filter out the irrelevant information, getting straight to their essence. In particular, we must obtain the galaxy coordinates of their home planet and express goodwill, informing them that we can save their home planet."

"Yes, sir."

After dealing with Steadman's affairs, Chang Wei's face straightened and he gave orders to the entire army.

"All forces rush into the center of the battlefield! Increase shield power and engage the ELS at close range. And cover the Earth Federation forces to withdraw from the battle!"

Facts have proven that the technological gap cannot be made up by numbers. No matter how hard the ELS attacks, they cannot break the shield of the Light Chaser fleet.

They are like a steel wall, standing between the ELS and the Earth Federation Army. No matter how hard you hit me, I will remain unmoved!

This scene stunned countless people, including the Tianren Organization who rushed to support and Graham and the battle flag team he led.

This........isn't this invincible?
