The moment all the Protoss were rescued and in a safe situation, the system prompted Chang Wei that the mission had been completed and he could leave the universe at any time.
However, several other options emerged.
The first is to just leave it alone after rescuing it, and let the Star Spirit figure out how to survive in the days ahead!
The second option is to lead the Protoss to push back against Amon and bring light back to this desperate and dark universe.
The third option is to persuade the Protoss to join the Light Chaser Fleet, just like what was done to the Hard Bore Force in the Starship Troopers universe.
The fourth type is that the system takes them away and arranges their destination.
After reading it, Chang Wei made a summary.
The first one does not conform to the beliefs and persistence that Chang Wei and Zhuguangzhe have always held, so it is excluded.
The second option is too difficult, with virtually no chance of success. It's like traveling back in time to the end of the Three Kingdoms period, when Shu had surrendered and you were left in charge of a struggling Eastern Wu. What else could you do? It's already impossible to turn the tide! So, that's ruled out as well.
Now, only the third and fourth options remain.
Honestly, the Protoss were a very strong race! If Chang Wei could bring them all under his command like he had with the Hard Bones Troops, then... he would have gained a lot of Protoss ships and troops for free, as well as several hero units like Artanis, Zeratul, and Selendis.
Damn, if this works, I will wake up laughing even in my sleep.
That's why Chang Wei showed such enthusiasm towards the Star Spirits, and even resorted to "commercial mutual promotion" to win their favor.
If Xing Ling had a mouth, Chang Wei would have asked the kitchen staff to prepare a "Man Han Banquet" as a treat.
"This is the reality. With our current strength, it's impossible to counterattack Amon and defeat him. Furthermore, using a decapitation tactic is unrealistic. As long as Amon remains in the void dimension, we can't hurt him at all. Yet, he can still dispatch his army and clones to fight."
"And if we want to truly kill Him, we must enter the Void Dimension, withstand the siege of countless hybrid armies, find His true form without any supplies or intelligence support, and then send a psychic with similar strength to His. Only then is it possible!"
"So, my suggestion is: abandon this universe and come with us. Become a member of our Light Chaser fleet, and then travel to different worlds to save more races or events that are in despair like yours. What do you think?"
Chang Wei deliberately didn't mention the fourth option in order to leave the Protoss with no choice. This way, as long as they weren't stupid, they would most likely join the Light Chaser fleet.
Don't blame Chang Wei for being scheming, because he also wants to improve the overall strength of the fleet.
In order to escape the pursuit of that unknown existence, he had already let the system drain his time twice in vain.
If he spent all those massive mission points and luck points on the "blade", wouldn't he already have a level 7 civilization warship? Or perhaps even unlock a higher level of system permissions?
Holy crap! This is like a card draw in Genshin Impact, and I lost two "big guarantees" in an instant!
After listening to the plan proposed by Chang Wei, Archbishop Artanis's psychic eyes kept flashing, as if he was struggling with something.
Leaving their home planet Aiur was already hard enough for these Protoss, and now they were being asked to abandon their own universe? From then on, they would follow the Light Chaser fleet, obey the orders of Warmaster Chang Wei, and then drift around, carrying out rescue missions across the heavens and the universe?
It sounded...utterly magical, yet also unsettling. An unprecedented sense of bewilderment washed over every Protoss present. Only Zeratul remained radiant, his gaze blazing, his heart filled with light.
Artanis obviously noticed this as well, so he turned to look at Zeratul and asked.
"Zeratul, you are the most gifted among the Protoss in foreseeing the future. Can you foresee the future direction and destiny of our Protoss?"
Zeratul first glanced at the calm Chang Wei, then said to Artanis: "The fate of the Protoss changed the moment the Lightseeker arrived. It was filled with fog and it was impossible to see clearly! But..."
Zeratul paused for a moment, turned his head and looked at Chang Wei again, then continued: "But... I saw a prophecy of death from Warmaster Chang Wei. No! It's not just death, but... the body and soul have turned into some kind of artifact!"
Chang Wei and Artanis looked at each other at the same time, and asked in a puzzled tone: "What do you mean? Can you explain it more clearly?"
Zeratul shook his head. "It's hard to explain. This is all I can see. But I can draw one almost certain conclusion from this prophecy. That is... staying with the Evermighty Warmaster will lead to something terrible."
If anyone else had been gossiping in such a formal setting, Chang Wei, with his temper, would have been quick to lash out. "What's that? Cursing me to death? Don't you see whose territory you're on now? Be careful what you say!"
But as the great archaeologist and prophet of the Protoss, Ze, a charlatan with extremely high interstellar fans and popularity, Chang Wei had to start paying attention to his predictions.
This reminds me of the Warhammer 40K universe, where the Emperor seems to have said something similar to himself, calling himself the soul of a certain "artifact" embryo. Once that "artifact" is born, he will be doomed...
