late at night.
Chu Peiran walked over to Qin Luo's side. Looking at the little dumpling who had nothing to do but pick at his toes, he asked with a smile, "There are still two grilled fish left. Do you think we should throw them away?"
"Waste is shameful!"
The little dumpling frowned and looked at Qin Luo, "Boss, I can help them finish eating."
"Go."
Qin Luo nodded slightly.
Xiao Tao and the others saw that Xiao Tuanzi was drooling, so they specially saved two grilled fish for her.
"All Buddhas of the ten directions follow the same path, and all attain liberation from birth and death through a straightforward mind." Qin Luo held the scripture. He had read many scriptures and books of sages, and they all contained similar principles. He murmured softly, "It seems that the myriad paths of the Way lead to the same destination!"
Chu Peiran walked to the bookshelf, picked up the meditation breathing method, and said, "Interesting, I can try it tonight."
After finishing their barbecue, Xiao Tao and the others continued cleaning, including cleaning up the old chessboard that Chu Peiran had brought back.
"Caixia, let's play chess!"
"OK!"
Little Dumpling and Caixia sat cross-legged in front of the chessboard, holding the chess pieces and placing them on the board in a very professional manner. Little Peach and Doudou watched them play chess. Although they couldn't understand it, they felt that the chess players were very skilled.
Chu Peiran leaned over to take a look and found that they didn't know how to play chess at all. He, on the other hand, wanted to play chess with a master. "Brother, how about we have a game?"
"bring it on."
Qin Luo nodded in agreement.
He has never encountered a worthy opponent.
Chu Peiran and Qin Luo went upstairs and sat by the window, where the bright moonlight shone on the chessboard.
"Brother Dao, please."
Chu Peiran gestured with his hand.
Qin Luo, playing white, placed his piece at the center.
Chu Peiran remained calm and composed, his black piece landing on the star position in the upper right corner.
Xiao Tao and the others came upstairs to watch the game. Xiao Tuanzi and Caixia followed them upstairs. Qin Luo and Chu Peiran played back and forth, and they made their moves very quickly.
The little dumpling sat on Qin Luo's shoulders, hugging her knees and gazing at the chessboard. Cai Xia stood on a stool, watching the changes in the game. Xiao Tao and Dou Dou brought over two cups of freshly brewed hot tea.
As the game progressed to the middle stage, Chu Peiran felt immense pressure. He picked up his teacup to drink, while Qin Luo pondered where Chu Peiran's pieces would land.
"can't read!"
The little dumpling hugged its tiny feet and smelled them.
Chu Peiran made another move, but in a different position than Qin Luo had expected. He thought Chu Peiran would fight head-on, but unexpectedly, he chose to defend.
Qin Luo continued to surround and kill the large black group of stones.
Chu Peiran frowned slightly. He intensified his attack on the local white stones, attempting to relieve the siege of Wei by attacking Zhao, thereby delaying Qin Luo's attack on the large black group.
Qin Luo ignored the local gains and losses and continued to besiege the large black group.
Chu Peiran is working on a localized grape.
As the white pieces were placed outside the chessboard, the little dumpling's eyes widened. It seemed that with fewer white pieces, the boss was at a disadvantage.
Xiao Tao doesn't know how to play chess, but she can tell that Chu Peiran is very nervous and keeps drinking tea.
Qin Luo continued his attack on the large black group, which made Chu Peiran nervous. In high-level chess games, it is rare for a group to be killed, but the large black group is now in a very bad situation.
Chu Peiran could no longer continue attacking the local area of white stones. He had to find a way to save the large group of black stones. He stared intently at the chessboard.
Much later, when the night was deep.
Looking out at the quiet city of Jiangling, Qin Luo said softly, "Brother Chu, it's getting late. Let's play this game of chess tomorrow."
Chu Peiran snapped out of his reverie and realized it was already very late. Xiao Tao and the others had to work tomorrow. "Okay, everyone should get some rest."
Qin Luo arrived at the room on the third floor facing the Luo River. He lay down on the bed to rest, and the little dumpling crawled into his pocket, curled up, with only a tuft of hair sticking out.
When Caixia went downstairs to turn off the lights, she looked at Guichen, who was still copying scriptures, and wondered whether she should turn off the lights too. After thinking about it, she decided to leave the lights on.
Only the lights on the first floor of Qinghe Building were still on.
Qin Luo closed his eyes to rest. Through the Luo River, he saw Wu Shashen resting on the riverbank. His breathing was like thunder, and the wild beasts around dared not approach.
Wu Shashen is on his way to Mirror Lake, and at his speed, he should be able to reach Baiyun Town tomorrow.
Although he had been away from Longhu Temple for a long time, Qin Luo could still see Longhu Temple and Jinghu Academy through the Luo River every day.
Jin Yan would go to the river to fetch water every morning, and Zi Yue would go to the river to catch fish with the little otter every evening. The market at the foot of Luoxia Peak was becoming more and more lively.
The area around Jinghu Academy is full of flowers, trees and shrubs, creating a thriving scene. Although the academy has not yet officially started classes, some children are already living there.
A quiet night.
Linglong walked back and forth in the empty classroom with her hands behind her back and a serious expression on her face. Her sharp eyes looked around as if the classroom was full of students.
Qinghe Building.
Chu Peiran tossed and turned in bed, his mind filled with the game of chess.
After much thought, Chu Peiran left the room and sat down at the chessboard to continue pondering.
The next day, early morning.
Before dawn, the sounds of carriages and horses could be heard on the streets, and Xiao Tao and the others got up one after another.
When Xiao Tao went downstairs, she saw Chu Peiran engrossed in copying scriptures. She didn't disturb him. When she arrived on the first floor, Gui Chen was still copying scriptures, and the oil lamp on the table had been extinguished.
DouDou made ginger soup in the kitchen.
Xiao Tao brought a bowl of ginger soup to Gui Chen with both hands and said respectfully, "Master, this is freshly made ginger soup. Please enjoy it."
"Thank you, benefactor."
Gui Chen took a sip of the ginger soup.
Caixia looked at the tall monk and asked in confusion, "It seems that monks in temples don't drink ginger soup?"
Gui Chen nodded, "You're right, but this is a donation from a benefactor."
