Chapter 125 Buddhist Temple, Ancient Town, Dilapidated Temple

Spring is here, flowers are in bloom, grass is growing and birds are flying.

Qin Luo was walking through the woods when a deer ran out of the trees and blocked his path.

The little deer had a silly expression on its face, chewing on grass, and looked at Qin Luo with great curiosity.

"You silly spore, what are you looking at!"

The little dumpling raised its fist to scare the deer.

The fawn stood still for a moment, then turned and ran into the depths of the forest. It hadn't gone far when it looked back at Qin Luo and the little dumpling, still chewing on grass.

Be gentle.

"Boss, if I don't act tough, this idiot will definitely end up on the dinner table."

"That makes sense."

"hey-hey."

The little dumpling stood proudly with its hands on its hips.

There was an ancient pagoda on a mountain not far away. Qin Luo walked towards the pagoda. On the map of the Cloud Immortal, there was a temple there called Liuyun Temple.

A gentle breeze blew, and maple leaves fell. Qin Luo found the path up the mountain. The surrounding area was overgrown with weeds. The temple was deep in the mountains and looked like it hadn't been visited for many years.

Qin Luo walked along the mountain path, and the surrounding vegetation made way for him. When he reached the mountainside, the plaque of Liuyun Temple had fallen to the ground, the gate was wide open, and there were many weeds in the temple.

The little dumpling flew around in the sky and came back. "Boss, we didn't find the bald guy inside."

"He is a monk."

"Okay, there are no monks."

Qin Luo entered the temple, wanting to take a look inside. On the left side of the temple was a bell tower with a bronze bell that was ten feet tall.

Thump!

The bell rang.

Black crows took flight from the depths of the temple.

The once quiet and deserted temple seemed to come alive all at once. Qin Luo looked at the little dumpling kicking the bell with its short legs, like a mischievous child, and said, "Stop ringing it."

"hey-hey."

The little dumpling returned to Qin Luo's side.

Qin Luo crossed the plaza in front of the hall and arrived at the main hall, where cobwebs covered the area. A Buddha statue sat cross-legged high up, covered in thick dust, like a stone Buddha.

The main hall was deserted, completely different from the Yunzhong Temple that Qin Luo had visited before. He took out three incense sticks and lit them, and the ancient temple, which had been deserted for who knows how many years, was once again filled with the fragrance of incense.

"Boss, why are there three incense sticks?"

"Because it is Buddha."

Qin Luo had heard Chu Peiran say that the Buddha was stationed outside the realm to prevent the invasion of extraterrestrial demons, and was therefore worthy of respect.

Golden smoke swirled in the hall. Qin Luo turned and left the main hall, heading to the courtyard deep within the temple.

There is a crystal-clear pond in the courtyard.

Qin Luo arrived at the pool. Looking at the deserted temple, he decided to do something. So he took out a black bodhi seed and threw it into the pool.

These are Bodhi seeds that Gui Chen gave to Qin Luo. Qin Luo could sense the vitality contained within the Bodhi seeds, so he chose to put them into the pool and let them grow.

The Bodhi seeds emitted a faint light in the pool, and soon a black lotus grew in the pool.

The little dumpling sensed that the black lotus was extraordinary. She reached out to pluck a leaf and taste it, but Qin Luo grabbed her ahoge (a single strand of hair on her head) and pulled her back. "This black lotus has a faint spiritual fluctuation; it is also a life form. Don't harm it."

"All right."

The little dumpling had to be given up.

Qin Luo arrived at the depths of the temple, where there was a pagoda. He entered the pagoda, and all the oil lamps hanging high up lit up. In the middle of the pagoda sat an old monk whose body had turned to ashes.

"Boss, there's treasure."

The little dumpling pointed to the golden relic.

Qin Luo looked at the old monk sitting cross-legged on the ground and bowed respectfully, "Senior, why are you still unwilling to leave?"

The old monk's soul left his withered bones. His soul was very weak, like a candle flickering in the wind, about to fall. "This poor monk cannot let go of this Liuyun Temple."

Qin Luo said earnestly, "Letting go of one thought brings complete freedom. Senior should understand this principle. Why torture yourself and trap yourself here, unable to find liberation?"

"Young friend, you are right. Many times, we ourselves cannot practice these principles, yet we are expected to impart them to others. It is laughable," the old monk shook his head and sighed softly.

Qin Luo smiled and said softly, "Senior, instead of confining yourself here, why not go out for a walk?"

"good."

The old monk smiled and nodded.

"I apologize for disturbing you."

Qin Luo bowed again and then left.

The little dumpling turned back to look at the relics in the pagoda and whispered, "Boss, that golden stone looks like a treasure."

Qin Luo said with a serious expression, "Taking something without asking is theft, and that's wrong."

"Why don't we ask him for it?"

If someone asks for your scissors, would you give them to them?

"No."

The little dumpling shook its head repeatedly.

Qin Luo smiled and said, "Do not do to others what you would not have them do to you. Think about it before you do anything in the future."

The little dumpling nodded as if it understood but not quite.

Qin Luo left the temple.

The old monk's remnant soul emerged from the pagoda. He hadn't come out for a long time recently. He stared blankly at the black lotus in the pond.

"The Holy Lotus has actually appeared at Liuyun Temple! Buddha has not abandoned us!" The old monk's excitement was palpable.

The old monk looked towards the main hall, where golden light filled the air. When he entered the hall, the Buddha statue was spotless and shone with brilliant golden light. There were three sticks of incense in front of the Buddha statue.

At that moment, the old monk suddenly realized, "So that's how it is."

A gentle breeze blew by.

The old monk's lingering soul dissipated with the wind.

In the twilight.

Qin Luo arrived at an ancient town.

Blue bricks and gray tiles, shrouded in mist and rain.

A small river divides the ancient town in two.

There was a covered boat on the river. A middle-aged man, shirtless, wearing a raincoat and a straw hat, was rowing the boat. He looked at Qin Luo, who was walking in the rain, and shouted, "Master Daoist, would you like to take a ride?"

"Need not."

Qin Luo smiled and shook his head.
