A dilapidated temple in the mountains.
The only sound in the quiet night was chewing, and Nanxing got goosebumps all over.
A pair of small hands rested on Qin Luo's pocket, and the little dumpling peeked out, blinking her bright eyes. She looked completely harmless.
"Sister, is there any more?"
A strange smile appeared on the little dumpling's face.
Nanxing felt a chill run down her spine. She had nurtured that golden Gu worm for a long time, making it indestructible, yet the little girl in front of her ate it like a snack on the spot. This girl was definitely a monster.
Whoosh!
The windows of the dilapidated temple were smashed open.
Nanxing rushed out of the window and ran through the woods, but there was no sound behind her.
Deep in the woods, Nanxing looked back but didn't see Qin Luo. She patted her chest and exclaimed, "That was close!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the surrounding environment changed, and Nanxing found himself sitting in a dilapidated temple.
Nanxing's pupils contracted sharply. She looked at Qin Luo, who was sitting cross-legged on the spot, bathed in moonlight, like an immortal.
The little dumpling stretched out its tiny hand, grinning foolishly, "Sister, is there any more?"
Nanxing turned and ran.
The windows of the dilapidated temple were smashed again.
A moment later.
Nanxing reappeared in the dilapidated temple. She had heard of ghost walls before, but she never thought she would actually encounter one. She trembled uncontrollably. "Senior, I was just kidding with you."
"Hehe, is there any more?"
The little dumpling politely reached out its hand.
Qin Luo opened his eyes, looked at the oil-paper umbrella, and said softly, "This world is really strange. Some people are kind to you for no reason, and some people want to harm you for no reason."
Nanxing turned pale with fright. She knelt on the ground and kowtowed heavily, "Senior, I was wrong."
Why did you hurt me?
"Senior, that's a sleep bug. I just wanted to see if you had any valuable treasures on you. I didn't mean to harm you."
The little dumpling put on a stern face and said seriously, "Taking something without asking is stealing, and that's wrong."
"It was my fault."
Nanxing's forehead was covered in cold sweat. She took out the yellowed scroll and said in a trembling voice, "Senior, this celestial book should be useful to you. Can you please let me go?"
Qin Luo looked at the scroll and said calmly, "Where did you steal this scroll from?"
Nanxing shook his head repeatedly, "I didn't steal it, I dug it out of the old Taoist priest's grave."
Qin Luo stood up, picked up the yellowed scroll, opened it, and found flowing talismans inside.
The little dumpling climbed onto Qin Luo's shoulder, tilting her head, "Boss, this looks just like the talisman that Little Purple Moon drew."
"This is the celestial script of the clouds."
"It looks like an insect, I like it."
Qin Luo put away the scroll and looked at Nan Xing. "Relax, don't resist, or you'll die a horrible death."
Nanxing dared not resist.
Qin Luo used the Soul-Capturing Technique, and various images flashed rapidly before his eyes. Nan Xing came from the Ye family of Youming Valley. They worshipped the Gu God and possessed powerful Gu techniques.
Nanxing found home too boring, so he chose to run away. He loved playing pranks and also liked to rob the rich to help the poor. Apart from stealing and playing pranks, he had never done anything unforgivable.
Many years ago, a Taoist priest stole the Ye family's most treasured possession, which made the Ye family hostile to the Taoist priest. Therefore, Nanxing wanted to repay the Taoist priest with his own methods.
"This will not be repeated."
Qin Luo said with a serious expression.
Ye Nanxing was in a daze. She nodded repeatedly, "Thank you for your magnanimity, senior."
The little dumpling frowned and held up two fingers. "Boss, we can't let her off easily unless she gives me another bug, no, two."
Qin Luo looked at Ye Nanxing, who looked only fifteen or sixteen years old, but had a full head of white hair. "Gu worms live on blood. You are raising gu with your body. You won't live long."
"Live one day at a time."
Ye Nanxing didn't think that much about it.
"Don't try to be clever in the future, it will only hurt you."
"Uh-huh."
Qin Luo folded up his oil-paper umbrella and walked out of the dilapidated temple. The road was muddy after the rain.
Ye Nanxing watched Qin Luo leave. Although she was afraid of him, she still chased after him. "I've found an ancient tomb. There might be great fortune inside. I'll take you there."
Qin Luo shook his head. "Go home early and don't worry your family."
Ye Nanxing stood there stunned for a moment. She watched Qin Luo walk away and quickly chased after him.
The sun is rising.
The little dumpling took out the Thousand Character Classic and recited it with a swaying head: "Kindness and compassion, never departed even in haste. Integrity and humility, never lost even in adversity."
Qin Luo said softly, "Do you know what that means?"
The little dumpling smiled and said, "We must never lose our kindness and compassion. Even in poverty, we must never abandon propriety, righteousness, integrity, and a sense of shame."
"good."
"Keep memorizing."
Okay.
The little dumpling was full of fighting spirit.
Ye Nanxing followed behind Qin Luo the whole time.
Qin Luo didn't mind, as long as she didn't cause any trouble.
Nanxun City, in Jiangnan Prefecture, is a quaint and charming town.
Qin Luo entered Nanxun City at noon, just when the restaurants were at their busiest. The little girl swallowed hard at the aroma, wanting to try everything.
"Boss, I'm hungry."
"Bear with it."
Ye Nanxing walked up, her eyebrows curving slightly, "Want some dumplings?"
"What?"
The little dumpling tilted its head.
Ye Nanxing raised her hand, in which she held three green dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves. "These are green dumplings, filled with red bean paste, they're delicious."
The little dumpling looked at Qin Luo.
Qin Luo reached out and picked up a green rice dumpling. "Thank you."
The little girl picked up a green dumpling with both hands, tore open the bamboo leaves, took a bite, and exclaimed, "It's so sticky and delicious!"
Qin Luo nodded. The green rice dumplings were soft and glutinous, while the wild vegetable dumplings were harder.
