Chapter 146 The Provocateur

The Great Xia Sword Sect.

The sun rises in the east, and the sky is ablaze with red clouds.

Qin Luo followed Li Jianwei to the viewing platform.

The viewing platform is located at the highest point of the Great Xia Sword Sect. It is semi-circular, resplendent in gold, like a dazzling sunrise, with an exquisitely carved wooden chair placed every two zhang (approximately 6.6 meters).

It was still early, and the viewing platform was quite deserted. The disciples of the Great Xia Sword Sect were divided into two groups: one group sat in the audience seats, and the other group sat cross-legged in the middle of the square. They sat upright, and a powerful sword intent permeated the square.

Most of the disciples in the audience were elite disciples, and some were juniors who had just entered the sect.

Qin Luo saw Master Qingxu of the Sword Dao Temple on the viewing platform, followed by two young disciples of the Sword Dao Temple.

"Master Qin!"

"Master Qingxu!"

They bowed to each other as a sign of respect.

Master Qingxu smiled kindly, "Young friend, it seems we are destined to meet. Have you been to Nantian Peak?"

"I've been there."

"I gained a lot."

Qin Luo had a smile on his face.

Master Qingxu said earnestly, "There are some things that only you, young friend, can do, just like the Dao Ancestor of yesteryear."

"I am far inferior to the Dao Ancestor!"

Qin Luo shook his head.

Duan Shifang walked over with a smile, "Master Qingxu, your seat is here, please follow me."

Master Qingxu left with Duan Shifang.

Qin Luo had only taken two steps when he saw Shen Jianyi and the one-armed old man in blue robes approaching. He smiled and asked, "Brother Shen, may I ask how this senior is addressed?"

Chen Jianyi said respectfully, "Brother Qin, this is the Supreme Elder of our Spirit Sword Sect."

"Old Lu Ming."

Lu Ming bowed slightly. His right arm had been severed at the shoulder, and he looked sickly, but he possessed terrifying power within him. He was the strongest sword cultivator Qin Luo had ever encountered.

"Junior Qin Luo greets Senior."

Qin Luo bowed respectfully.

Lu Ming waved his hand, "Young friend, there's no need for such formalities."

Qiu Wuji hurried over, his face full of smiles. "Elder Lu, we didn't expect you to come in person to attend the ceremony. We have failed to greet you properly, please forgive us."

"It's alright."

Lu Ming's eyes were full of vicissitudes, and his voice was hoarse as he said, "While I can still walk, I've come to join in the fun."

Qiu Wuji said warmly, "Elder Lu, this way please."

Lu Ming followed Qiu Wuji to the first seat on the left. After he sat down, Chen Jianyi stood beside him.

"Master Qin, this is your seat."

"Thank you for your trouble, Elder Li."

"Of course."

Li Jianwei led Qin Luo to the first seat on the right, the highest-ranking seat among the guests. Whether they were invited guests or disciples of the Great Xia Sword Sect, everyone stared at this young Taoist, wondering why he was allowed to sit there.

In the audience, the younger disciples of the Great Xia Sword Sect were discussing Qin Luo and Lu Ming on the viewing platform.

A well-informed junior, his eyes filled with admiration, said, "That must be the Supreme Elder of the Spirit Sword Sect, who killed a True Immortal long ago at the cost of losing an arm!"

"If he wants to kill a True Immortal, then he must be a Sword Immortal. Even a Sword Immortal came to the Great Xia Sword Sect to witness the ceremony. Our Great Xia Sword Sect has a lot of face."

"that is."

The younger generation wore expressions of pride.

Some of the younger disciples were gossiping about Qin Luo, "Who is that young Taoist priest, and why is he sitting there?"

"He looks very young. Could it be that his strength is even more terrifying than that of a sword immortal?"

"How is that possible!"

Ning Zhanpeng looked at Qin Luo on the viewing platform with awe in his eyes. "That's Master Qin from Longhu Temple. He can summon wind and rain and is omnipotent. Even the Grand Elder of the Farmer Clan has to kneel down and call him the Human Emperor when he sees him."

"The Human Emperor?!"

The younger generation was dumbfounded.

"Junior Brother Ning, you can't say things like that carelessly," the sword-browed youth reminded him; he looked quite extraordinary.

The younger generation immediately fell silent. The young man with sword-like eyebrows reminded him, "If His Majesty finds out about this, it will bring unnecessary trouble to that Taoist priest."

"Senior Brother Yang is right!"

Ning Zhanpeng said nothing more.

On the viewing platform, the area to Qin Luo's right was bustling with activity. A refined old man in a blue robe looked at the emaciated old man and said, "Jiang Ding, you're shameless."

The frail old man sat in the chair, shaking his head and mocking, "Chen Nianzhi, you call yourself a scholar, yet you don't understand the principle of respecting the elderly and caring for the young."

Duan Shifang of the Great Xia Sword Sect felt his scalp tingle. He had originally arranged for Chen Nianzhi to sit next to Qin Luo, but Jiang Ding had taken the seat instead. Neither of them were people he could afford to offend.

Chen Nianzhi is the dean of the Great Xia Academy, and Jiang Ding is the dean of the Great Xia Martial Academy. In the imperial court, the academy is on the right and the martial academy is on the left. However, this is not the imperial court.

Seeing them arguing for seats, Qin Luo stood up, smiled, and said softly, "Senior, if you don't mind, you can sit here with me."

Duan Shifang quickly introduced, "Dean Chen, this is Master Qin from Longhu Temple."

Seeing Qin Luo offer his seat, Chen Nianzhi quickly waved his hand and politely declined, saying with a smile, "Master Qin, thank you for your kindness, but I am not qualified to sit there."

The red-faced youth behind Jiang Ding reminded him, "Dean, that's Qin Luo from Longhu Temple."

Jiang Ding, who was sitting in his seat, stood up and cupped his fists towards Qin Luo. "I am Jiang Ding, the dean of the Great Xia Martial Academy. I have long heard of Master Qin's reputation. Meeting you today, I can see that you are indeed extraordinary."

"Dean Jiang, you flatter me."

Qin Luo returned the greeting with clasped hands.

At this moment, Qiu Wuji walked over and joked with a smile, "Dean Chen, Dean Jiang, if you are not satisfied with the seating arrangement, I can arrange a sparring match between the juniors. The winner can sit here, which can also help warm up our sect's grand ceremony."
