Chapter 167 Zhang the Madman

Supreme View.

Zhu Xian arrived at the top of the tall building.

Moonlight streamed into the building, where Hua Ying sat cross-legged on the wide platform, engrossed in reading a book.

Zhu Xian quietly approached Hua Ying's side. Upon seeing the contents of the book, she exclaimed in shock, "Ying'er, you actually read such vulgar books? Are you still going to cultivate Taoism?"

"I'm giving up on Taoism!"

Hua Ying continued turning the pages of the book.

Zhu Xian frowned, her face full of disappointment, and said seriously, "Ying'er, you only have one way to live. If you don't cultivate the Dao, you can only wait to die."

"I will not cultivate Taoism."

Hua Ying said with her back to Zhu Xian.

Zhu Xian thought of something and said coldly, "Did Qin Luo provoke you? I'll go teach him a lesson right now."

"Princess, it has nothing to do with Qin Luo. I just think cultivating Taoism is boring. Look how interesting the stories in the book are." Hua Ying was afraid that Zhu Xianzhen would cause trouble for Qin Luo.

Zhu Xian sat down next to Hua Ying and said, "I'm going to Lieshan to pay respects to my ancestors tomorrow. Come with me for a walk."

"I don't want to move."

Hua Ying continued reading her book with her head down.

Zhu Xian snatched the book from Hua Ying's hand. Not wanting to see her so dejected, she gently scolded, "You've cultivated the Dao for so many years, yet you're not even as good as a girl from a secluded boudoir."

Hua Ying pursed her lips and remained silent.

Zhu Xian's pretty face was frosty. "I hate the Imperial Preceptor's laissez-faire approach the most. He can't even teach you properly, yet he dares to dream of ruling the world."

Hua Ying didn't offer any explanation.

Zhu Xian pulled Hua Ying up from the platform. "The outside world is so wonderful. Come with me and let's go see it."

......

Tiangan Institute.

The little dumpling caught a lot of plump insects in the mountains. She skewered them with bamboo sticks and asked with a smile, "Big brother, I'm going to sell kebabs on the street. Do you want to come?"

"Let's go take a look."

Qin Luo wanted to go for a walk to clear his head.

Old Gao was still drunk and hadn't woken up yet, so Qin Luo took him back to his room to rest. Wan'er had just woken up, and she followed Qin Luo and the others to the street, where bright red lanterns hung all around.

The city is ablaze with lights.

The capital of the Great Xia Dynasty was like a city that never sleeps.

The little girl was walking down the street when she smelled a strong aroma of wine. "It smells so good! The whole street smells of wine!"

Wan'er explained softly, "Little fairy, sprinkling wine on the street is a custom of the people of the capital to worship their ancestors. It is a way for us to express our remembrance and respect for our ancestors."

An old woman was pouring wine on the street with her young grandson. She said to her child earnestly, "Child, the gods will eventually leave, but our ancestors will always be with us."

"Grandpa, I miss you so much."

The little boy poured the wine from his bowl onto the street.

The little girl looked around, puzzled. "Why didn't I see their ancestors?"

Qin Luo gently rubbed the little dumpling's head, "The blood of our ancestors flows in our veins."

"Isn't it a waste to pour wine on the street?"

"Yeah, I'd rather drink it."

A rough voice rang out.

A disheveled middle-aged man suddenly appeared, and the little dumpling blinked excitedly, "Are you here to give me money?"

Chao Xiu shook the wine gourd at his waist. Judging from the sound, there wasn't much wine left in the gourd. He couldn't help but sigh, "I don't even have money to drink now, how can I have money to pay off my debts?"

"Then why don't you go and make money?"

"I only rob the rich to help the poor. This is the capital, there are laws here, and I don't want to cause trouble."

Qin Luo looked at Chao Xiu with a smile and said softly, "I am Qin Luo from Longhu Temple. May I ask why you are pledging that sword to us?"

Chao Xiu said with a smile, "The most valuable thing I have is that sword. If you think my wine gourd is valuable, you can take it."

The little dumpling shook its head and said crisply, "I have a gourd that's prettier than yours. I don't want your gourd."

"See!"

Chao Xiu laughed heartily.

Qin Luo asked with a smile, "Aren't you afraid we'll take this sword for ourselves?"

Chao Xiu smiled and said meaningfully, "I am not the owner of this sword. I am only responsible for bringing this sword into the capital and giving it to someone who is willing to act on behalf of Heaven."

"Acting on behalf of Heaven?"

Wan'er sensed that there was a conspiracy involved.

Qin Luo looked at Chao Xiu with a serious expression and asked, "Are you willing to act on behalf of Heaven?"

Chao Xiu picked up the wine gourd at his waist, drank the last bit of strong liquor in it, and then laughed loudly, "In my life, I have only paved the way for myself, not for the sake of Heaven."

Looking at Chao Xiu, Qin Luo couldn't help but sigh, "I hope I can be as carefree as you."

"Taoist Master, you cannot yet be carefree!"

Chao Xiu stepped back, a meaningful smile on his face. "Daoist, that sword can cleave through time and space. I hope you can use that sword to act on behalf of Heaven."

In the blink of an eye.

Chao Xiu disappeared into the bustling street.

Qin Luo frowned slightly. Did Chao Xiu send him this sword so that he could use it to deal with the Grand Preceptor?

The little girl found an open space on the street, took out a barbecue grill, lit the charcoal, and set up a stall on the street.

"Sister Wan'er!"

"Can you help me, oh dear?"

Wan'er gave an awkward smile. Standing next to the little dumpling, she felt embarrassed to refuse and could only force a smile. "Little fairy, how much is a skewer?"

"Five coins a string."

The little dumpling excitedly stretched out its tiny hand.

Wan'er abandoned her arrogance and shouted loudly, "Selling kebabs! Fresh kebabs, five coins a skewer."

Qin Luo stood near the barbecue stall, watching Xiao Tuanzi sell skewers. He realized that Xiao Tuanzi was very smart; whether it was studying or doing business, customers would come to him very quickly.

Wan'er chuckled softly.

She helped the little dumpling collect the money.

With nothing to do, Qin Luo took out his bamboo flute and played a tune that Lü Ajiao had taught him.

The sound of the flute attracted many people.
