Chapter 191 Desolate Mountain and Lonely Grave

A night with a bright moon and few stars.

Villagers from Huangyan Village came to the riverbank with torches, some of them carrying hoes and harpoons.

They heard that there was a white-haired ghost by the river.

A burly man carrying a torch approached Qin Luo. Looking at his appearance, he didn't seem like someone who had died a tragic death. "He doesn't seem to be from our area. He was most likely swept down from upstream."

"He looks so young, why is his hair all white? Could he be some kind of evil spirit?"

Upon hearing this, the surrounding villagers trembled in fear and gripped their weapons tightly.

"There aren't that many evil spirits."

"It's probably some serious illness."

"Leaving him here is not a solution."

A tall, thin man said impatiently, "We don't know each other anyway, it's so convenient to just throw them into the sea."

"That makes sense."

The surrounding villagers nodded in agreement.

A gaunt old man suggested, "This child looks pitiful. Why don't we send him to the nearby mortuary? Maybe his family will come looking for him."

"Old Huang, are you willing to contribute money?"

"I……"

The emaciated old man was unable to speak.

The burly man holding the torch couldn't help but sigh, "Let's find a place to bury him."

The gaunt old man nodded repeatedly, "This is a good idea; it's a way to give him peace in the afterlife."

"My stomach hurts!"

"I suddenly remembered that I have something to do at home."

The other villagers, unwilling to meddle, found excuses to leave. In the end, only the burly man holding the torch and the gaunt old man remained by the river, looking at Qin Luo lying on the ground.

"Grandpa, please help me hold up the torch."

"no problem."

The gaunt old man raised a torch.

The burly man hoisted Qin Luo onto his shoulder, somewhat surprised. "He's so light!"

The dead are usually very seriously injured.

The strong man could easily lift Qin Luo up.

"Xiao Dong, let's go to the cemetery."

"Let's go."

The cemetery is located near Huangyan Village.

The gaunt old man and the burly man walked towards Huangyan Village. As they approached, a middle-aged man in brocade robes carrying a lantern came over, pinching his nose. "Dong Fan, you should bury him far away quickly, so as not to ruin the feng shui of our village."

Dong Fan originally wanted to bury Qin Luo in the cemetery near Huangyan Village, but now some villagers disagreed, so he had no choice but to carry Qin Luo toward the barren mountains far away from Huangyan Village.

late at night.

Dong Fan carried Qin Luo to the foot of the barren mountain. He didn't feel tired at all; on the contrary, he felt refreshed. Bathed in the bright moonlight, his bronze skin glowed.

The gaunt old man pointed to a spot halfway up the mountain and said with a smile, "That's a good spot. If it weren't so far from Huangyan Village, I would have liked to be buried there."

"Grandpa, I didn't know you knew about feng shui."

Dong Fan didn't understand these things.

The gaunt old man sighed, "When I was young, I studied under a feng shui master for two and a half years and learned a little bit about it."

"Grandpa, would you like to rest for a while?"

"I'm not tired."

The gaunt old man waved his hands repeatedly.

Dong Fan carried Qin Luo to the mountainside, where the scenery was quite beautiful, with barren mountains behind and the river in front.

"Young man, just make do with this."

"Go on your journey in peace."

Dong Fan and the gaunt old man used wooden sticks to dig a pit in the ground, and then put Qin Luo into the pit and buried him.

The gaunt old man and Dong Fan collected many stones nearby and piled them up into the shape of a mound.

It was already past midnight when I finished.

Dong Fan clapped his hands, looked at the withered old man, and smiled, "Grandpa, I'll take you back."

"Uh-huh."

The gaunt old man and Dong Fan left the barren mountain.

The bright moonlight shone on the desolate mountain, and a tall, slender figure stood before the lonely grave, appearing and disappearing in the distance. Qin Luo watched as the strong man and the withered old man walked away.

Huangyan Village is located near the East China Sea. The villagers make a living by fishing. The village has nearly 200 households, making it a relatively large village. There is also a Dragon King Temple in the village.

Dong Fan escorted the emaciated old man home. As he walked towards his own house, he heard a dog barking as soon as he entered the yard.

A big black dog barked at him.

"Laifu, are you blind?!"

Dong Fan rebuked.

The big black dog tucked its tail between its legs and backed away.

Dong Fan frowned slightly. His big black dog was usually very fierce, but tonight it was tucked between its legs and trembling all over, as if it had seen something unclean.

Even though Dong Fan was very bold, he subconsciously looked back. The surroundings were empty, there was nothing there. "If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear."

Dong Fan mustered his courage and went back into the house.

The courtyard became quiet.

The big black dog was curled up in the corner.

Qin Luo looked at the big black dog with a smile on his face, "Don't be afraid, I won't hurt you."

The big black dog was very intelligent; it could sense that Qin Luo meant no harm and was no longer afraid.

Qin Luo extended his divine sense and discovered that besides Dong Fan, there was also an old woman in the room. However, the old woman was in poor health, weak, and had blocked meridians, indicating that she had been bedridden for many years.

Moonlight streamed into the room, and a gentle energy flowed into the old woman's body, clearing her meridians.

Dong Fan didn't notice the moonlight in the room. He had been busy all day and fell asleep as soon as he lay down on the bed.

Qin Luo turned and walked out of the courtyard. The big black dog only dared to close its eyes and rest after seeing him leave.

In the stillness of the night, the occasional bark of a dog could be heard.

Not all dogs can see Qin Luo.

Qin Luo was walking on a path in the village when a small mouse suddenly darted out. Immediately afterward, a calico cat pounced and pressed the mouse's head down with its paw.

When the calico cat saw Qin Luo, it was so frightened that it released the mouse and ran away into the distance.

Qin Luo watched the calico cat run away, and he was puzzled. "Why are they all afraid of me? Am I a ghost?"
