Chapter 227 Revisiting Old Places

Sunset Peak.

A graceful figure in purple landed at the foot of the mountain.

The market near the foot of the mountain was bustling with activity, and the people were chatting and laughing. The surrounding scenery was reflected in her mind by the shadows of the flowers, and she wanted to use these images to awaken Qin Luo's last remaining true spirit.

Hua Ying looked up at Luoxia Peak, where the brilliant sunset glow fell on the mountaintop like a golden cauldron. Her eyes shone with light as she couldn't help but recall the time she spent living at Longhu Temple.

Outside the Dragon and Tiger Temple.

A young girl in a red dress lay languidly on a bamboo chair, holding a golden gourd in her arms.

As Hua Ying approached, she smelled the aroma of alcohol. Jin Jiao was curled up next to a bamboo chair, snoring.

"Cough cough!"

Hua Ying coughed twice on purpose.

The little dumpling suddenly opened her eyes. When she saw Hua Ying, she grinned and said, "Three hundred taels, what brings you here?"

Hua Ying reached out and gently rubbed the little dumpling's head. "I just happened to be passing by, so I thought I'd drop by."

The little dumpling moved Hua Ying's hand away, then put her hands on her hips, glared at her, and said, "I am the Grand Protector of Longhu Temple. No one but the boss can touch my head."

"Uh-huh."

Hua Ying nodded slightly.

The golden horn sensed a terrifying aura. It dared not open its eyes and continued to curl up, pretending to be asleep.

The little dumpling looked at the tall, slender figure and asked, "Hey, do you have any news about my boss?"

Hua Ying said calmly, "Give me three hundred taels of silver, and I'll tell you what I know."

"cut!"

"I'm not stupid!"

The little dumpling proudly raised its head.

Hua Ying bowed slightly to the portrait of the door god, then walked into the Longhu Temple. Nothing in front of her had changed.

Jin Yan was cleaning the outer courtyard when he saw Hua Ying. He smiled and bowed, saying, "Sister Hua Ying, it's been a long time."

Hua Ying smiled slightly, "Little monkey, you're so polite. Isn't Zi Yue here?"

The little dumpling followed behind Hua Ying, her arms crossed, head held high with an air of arrogance, and she gave a soft hum.

Jin Yan replied with a smile, "There are many children who have fled to Jinghu Academy. My junior sister is helping out at Jinghu Academy. Sister Huaying, is there something you need at Longhu Temple?"

"Come and take a look."

Hua Ying walked deeper into the Longhu Temple.

Jin Yan didn't pay any attention. He was cleaning the outer courtyard, while the little dumpling kept a close eye on the flower shadows.

The old peach tree in the backyard was in full bloom with bright peach blossoms. A three-legged black cat lay on the peach tree. Suddenly, it opened its eyes and stared at the shadows of the flowers with its dark pupils.

Hua Ying came to the old peach tree, reached out and touched it, and whispered, "I know you don't like me, but I hope you can help Qin Luo. He needs a 100,000-year-old immortal peach."

A gentle breeze swept through Longhu Temple, stirring the purple skirt of Huaying. The old peach tree swayed in the wind, and in an instant, peach blossoms bloomed all over the world, flying into the distance.

The little dumpling blinked her bright eyes, tilted her head back, and gave an incredulous look.

Peach blossoms danced in the air, draping the Dragon Tiger Temple in a rosy hue. In the end, only one peach blossom remained on the old peach tree. Then, that peach blossom grew at a speed visible to the naked eye, eventually growing into a round, pink fairy fruit.

The fairy fruit fell into Hua Ying's hand.

"Thanks!"

Hua Ying bowed deeply in gratitude.

The old peach tree aged considerably in an instant.

The little dumpling stared wide-eyed and said in a clear voice, "What did you do to the old peach tree? Hand over the peaches."

Hua Ying said earnestly, "Qin Luo is in trouble. He needs the Immortal Peach. Please trust me."

The little dumpling pouted, "My boss is invincible, how could he possibly run into trouble? Don't lie to me. If you don't hand over the fruit from the old peach tree, I'll call for help."

"Let her go."

A weathered voice came from behind.

Zhang Fulong appeared in the backyard. He had deep eyes, was much thinner than he was ten years ago, and had many more wrinkles on his face. He wore a simple white robe and looked like a sage.

The little dumpling stomped its foot, causing the entire Dragon Tiger Temple to tremble. "Master, the old peach tree was perfectly fine before, but it turned into this state after she touched it. We can't let her leave."

Looking at the peach blossoms dissipating into the world, Zhang Fulong sighed softly, "This is its choice."

The little girl pouted and stared at Hua Ying, asking, "Do you really know news about the boss?"

"Yes."

Hua Ying smiled and asked, "Can you tell me about your experiences with Qin Luo?"

The little dumpling tilted its head, looking puzzled, and asked, "Why are you asking this?"

Hua Ying answered truthfully, "Through memories related to Qin Luo, we might be able to awaken his true spirit."

The little dumpling scratched its head.

Zhang Fulong, standing to the side, shook his head, his deep eyes filled with sorrow, and sighed softly, "Since Qin Luo has chosen to let go, why don't you let him leave?"

Hua Ying's beautiful eyes narrowed slightly, and she said softly, "Are you just going to watch him leave?"

Zhang Fulong couldn't help but sigh, "He is closer to the Dao than we are, and I respect his choice."

The little dumpling scratched his head, looking bewildered, and said, "Master, what are you talking about? I don't understand."

Zhang Fulong did not answer. He turned and walked deeper into the Taoist temple. Hua Ying looked at the little dumpling and said softly, "Tell me Qin Luo's story, and I'll make you something delicious."

The little dumpling raised an eyebrow, "You can cook delicious food too?"

Would you like to try some?

"don't want."

The little dumpling shook her head repeatedly, a sly glint in her eyes, and a smile played on her lips. "How about this, give me three hundred taels, and I'll tell you my story with the boss."

"OK."

Hua Ying smiled and nodded, "Let's walk and talk, and we'll also visit Mirror Lake Academy."

"You can't renege on your debt! Gu Changsheng from Yuzhou City still owes me five taels of silver. Don't let me catch him again, or he'll be in big trouble," the little dumpling said forcefully.
