Goddess Peak, Wishing Pool.
Qin Luo held the copper coin in his hand, his wish being that all his friends could live well.
Snap!
The copper coin splashed water.
Qin Luo looked up at the beautiful Goddess Peak with a smile on his face, as if to say that this wish was not difficult.
Hua Ying held a coin just like Qin Luo; her wish was that everyone's wishes would come true.
Snap!
A coin fell into the wishing well.
Hua Ying watched as the copper coin sank to the bottom of the pool.
Qin Luo and his group walked towards the Goddess Temple. The mountain corridors were winding and dotted with pavilions and towers. The environment was serene and quiet, and many handsome men and beautiful women were drinking and making merry here.
The mountains were filled with laughter and cheerful voices.
The atmosphere here is much more relaxed than in Wushan.
Jiang Nanxi pointed to the distance and said, "Master Qin, that's the Goddess Temple. Offering incense and praying for blessings is free, but there is a charge for buying red ropes and marriage charms."
Hua Ying asked with great interest, "How much does it cost to buy a red string and a marriage charm?"
"Red string, ten coins; matchmaking charm, twenty coins!"
"So cheap?!"
Qin Luo smiled.
Hua Ying glared at Qin Luo.
Jiang Nanxi stretched out her left hand, on which was a beautifully woven red rope. "Everyone says that the red rope from the Goddess Temple can bring good luck. At first, I didn't believe it, but I didn't expect that my luck would really change recently."
Xuanqing and Xiaodie looked on with curiosity.
In front of the Goddess Temple, there is a stone tablet with seven large red characters: "Imperial Decree Conferring the Title of Goddess Temple".
Is this temple related to the witch clan?
"No."
Jiang Nanxi looked at the stone tablet and said softly, "Our Wu tribe believes in innate deities, while the Goddess Goddess is a deity conferred by imperial decree. However, in recent years, more and more young people in the Wu tribe have been worshipping the Goddess Goddess, and the clan chief and the others have turned a blind eye to it."
The scenery here is beautiful, and Qin Luo felt it possessed a certain charm. "Could you tell us the story of the Goddess?"
Jiang Nanxi nodded with a smile, "There are many versions of the story of the Goddess, the most common version is that the Goddess waited here for her beloved. She stood here without moving and eventually turned into Goddess Peak."
"Are you waiting for the scholar?"
"Yes."
"Shameless."
Jiang Nanxi was at a loss.
Qin Luo chuckled and said, "It's possible it's true."
Hua Ying raised an eyebrow and said coldly, "I could believe you if you said it was a woodcutter, but scholars love to make up stories."
Jiang Nanxi continued, "There is another widely circulated story. It is said that demons roamed the area near Wushan. The Goddess descended to the mortal world to slay the demons, but in the end, she was exhausted and perished. Her true form transformed into the Goddess Peak, which continues to protect the people around her."
"That does seem true."
Qin Luo nodded.
Xuanqing and Xiaodie listened quietly.
Upon entering the Goddess Temple, you'll find a spacious front courtyard planted with two trees: a jujube tree and a ginkgo tree.
Yellow flowers dot the green leaves of the jujube tree, while the ginkgo tree stands tall and straight with lush foliage. Its leaves are larger than those of common ginkgo trees, and a faint fragrance fills the yard.
Jiang Nanxi introduced with a smile: "This jujube tree can bear a lot of red dates every year. They are big and sweet. When the people around have happy events, the red dates they use come from here. There is also this ginkgo tree. In autumn, its golden leaves are very beautiful. I even picked a few ginkgo leaves and put them in my book."
"Then we've come at an inopportune time."
Xuanqing wanted to eat red dates.
Jiang Nanxi winked playfully, her face beaming with joy, "You've come at the annual Fire God Festival, it'll be so lively then, I think you've come at the perfect time."
There are many cats in the yard, including calico, tabby, and milk cats. They lie lazily in the sun, not afraid of strangers. Xuanqing went up to stroke the orange cat's belly, but the orange cat didn't move.
"This feels so good!"
"I also want to lie down and sunbathe!"
Jiang Nanxi looked at the cats with gentle eyes, "These are all stray cats adopted by Grandma Yao. She lives alone at the Goddess Temple and relies on these little guys for company."
Qin Luo squatted down and rubbed the tabby cat lying in front of her. The tabby cat leisurely wagged its tail. Hua Ying squatted down and beckoned. A beautiful calico cat came to her side. Only Xiao Die dared not get close to these cats.
The sun is not scorching, and the wind is gentle.
Jiang Nanxi smiled and said, "Usually, local people will bring them food. If people from other places want to feed them, they can buy dried small fish at the temple."
"No wonder they are so friendly to people."
Do you want to eat dried anchovies?
Meow~
The kittens all raised their heads at the same time.
Qin Luo withdrew his hand and stood up. "Let's go to the temple to worship the Goddess first."
They walked through the front yard to the back hall, with the tabby cat following Qin Luo and the others. As they entered the hall, a strong smell of incense greeted them.
The goddess statue was a colorful clay sculpture, draped in a robe of rosy clouds, as radiant as the bright moon, and of unparalleled beauty. It was the most beautiful statue Qin Luo had ever seen. He bowed with his hands clasped in greeting, and Xuan Qing and Xiao Die followed suit. An old woman dressed in worn gray clothes smiled and asked, "Nanxi, are these your friends?"
Jiang Nanxi nodded and said respectfully, "Grandma Yao, this is Master Qin from Longhu Temple, this is Sister Azi, and these are Xuanqing and Xiaodie."
Hello, Mother-in-law.
Qin Luo smiled.
Xuanqing and Xiaodie echoed the call.
Jiang Nanxi blinked. "Grandma, I saw Brother Zhu come by. What was he doing here?"
"He came to pray for blessings."
"Didn't you pray for a marriage partner?"
"No."
Grandma Yao, with a kind face, asked with a smile, "Have you come to offer incense and pray for blessings?"
Qin Luo could sense the presence of righteous energy here. The goddess before him must have the well-being of all living beings in her heart. He shook his head and sighed, "My luck has dissipated, and I cannot light incense. Otherwise, I would definitely offer a stick of incense to the goddess."
