Qin Luo led Hua Ying and the others to a wonton shop near the dock. He and Wu Shashen had eaten there years ago, and Qin Luo shouted, "Boss, four big bowls of wontons, please!"
"Alright!"
"Sirs, please find a seat yourselves. Do you have any dietary restrictions?"
"I don't want spicy food."
Me too.
Xuanqing and the others echoed this sentiment.
Qin Luo and the others sat by the river, where a cool breeze blew across the water and the bright moon shimmered on the surface.
"Sir, your wontons are ready."
The stall owner came over with four bowls of wontons on a tray and then placed them in front of them.
"Please enjoy your meal, sirs!"
"Thanks."
"Thanks."
Xuan Qing thanked Qin Luo.
Qin Luo picked up the wonton, brought it closer to smell it, and nodded, saying, "It still tastes the same as before."
Xuan Qing buried his head in the bowl and ate very quickly, finishing the soup in the blink of an eye. "It smells so good!"
Hua Ying hadn't even touched her chopsticks yet when she saw Xuan Qing finish eating and was about to hand him her bowl of wontons. Qin Luo saw this and said softly, "Boss, another bowl, please."
"Alright!"
The stall owner nodded with a smile.
Qin Luo looked at Hua Ying and smiled, "The wontons here taste different from those in Jiangnan City. You should try them."
"Then I'll try it."
Hua Ying picked up a wonton, chewed it slowly, and nodded with a smile, "The taste is indeed different, but they are all good."
"Both are good."
Qin Luo nodded with a smile.
The wontons in Huainan City are larger and have more meat filling. Most of the people who eat here are fishermen and travelers. You have to make sure they are full to have repeat customers.
The wontons in Jiangnan City are filled with pork and lard, making them even more fragrant. The wontons in Huainan City contain fish, making them even more delicious. Different places have different characteristics.
The stall owner quickly brought over the second bowl of wontons, saying, "Here are your wontons, sirs."
Qin Luo said softly, "Give it to him."
"Yes, sir."
"Thank you, brother!"
Xuan Qing couldn't stop smiling.
Qin Luo continued eating his wontons. He saw the small boats on the river. "Back then, Wu Shashen and I took a boat from Linjiang Town to Huainan City. We traveled down the river, covering a thousand miles in a day."
"A gentle breeze and a bright moon grace the river, and the scenery on both banks is breathtaking. Would you like to take a boat ride?"
"I'll listen to Master Dao."
Xuanqing looked at Huaying with anticipation in his eyes, "Fairy sister, would you like to take a boat ride?"
Hua Ying didn't answer. She looked at Qin Luo and teased him with a smile, "Didn't you want to be down-to-earth?"
"I can make an exception for you!"
Qin Luo chuckled.
Hua Ying frowned slightly. She looked at the wontons in her bowl and said softly, "I get seasick."
"ah?"
Xuanqing was somewhat surprised.
Hua Ying ate her wontons silently.
Qin Luo knew what she was thinking and said with a smile, "Then let's walk."
"I'll listen to Master Dao."
Xiaodie nodded obediently.
Xuanqing wasn't sad. He grinned and said, "That's fine too. We can pick wild fruits to eat in the mountains."
They continued eating their wontons.
Xuanqing quickly finished his second bowl, smacked his lips, and looked at Qin Luo expectantly, but Qin Luo didn't say anything.
Hua Ying said softly, "Boss, another bowl, please."
"Alright!"
The middle-aged stall owner looked very happy.
"Thank you, fairy sister."
Xuanqing grinned foolishly.
Hua Ying raised an eyebrow slightly, "The last bowl."
"Uh-huh."
Xuan Qing nodded happily.
After the group finished eating the wontons, Hua Ying took out thirty copper coins and placed them on the table, saying softly, "Boss, here's the money, you can count it."
The copper coins were piled up like a small mountain. The middle-aged stall owner ran over to count the money, his face beaming with joy. "That's right, it's thirty coins, sir. Take your time."
Xuanqing placed two wild fruits on the table and grinned, saying, "The wontons are delicious. These are wild fruits I picked in the mountains. Please have some; they're free."
The middle-aged stall owner nodded with a smile, "If you come again next time, I'll treat you to wontons."
"Then don't forget!"
"I can't forget it."
The middle-aged stall owner laughed heartily.
Xuanqing happily carried the wooden stake away.
Qin Luo said softly, "Let's go to Huainan City for a stroll, spend the night there, and continue our journey tomorrow morning."
"OK."
Hua Ying nodded with a smile.
Huainan City has wide streets lined with numerous shops and many street vendors.
Shouts and calls rose and fell.
Not far away, a group of children were gathered together. When Qin Luo and his companions got closer, they found that it was a stall selling roly-poly toys. The stall had all kinds of roly-poly toys, which were painted and looked beautiful and fun.
"That's really interesting."
Xuanqing blinked and asked curiously, "Sister, can I trade you some fruit for a roly-poly toy?"
The young woman selling unlucky fruit smiled sweetly, "You have a sweet tongue, child. How about this, give me three fruits, and I'll exchange them for a smaller roly-poly toy."
"If I give you more fruit, can you exchange it for two more?"
"No, I still have business to do."
"Can I pick one?"
"cannot."
The young woman shook her head.
Xuanqing picked the three largest wild fruits.
Seeing Xuanqing's actions, the young woman chose a slightly larger roly-poly toy for him, saying, "Here, take this red roly-poly toy."
"Thanks."
Xuanqing smiled and accepted the roly-poly toy.
"Big brother, look."
Qin Luo smiled and said, "This looks good."
“I think so too.” Xuanqing held up the roly-poly toy and showed it off to Huaying and Xiaodie.
Qin Luo gently rubbed Xuan Qing's head and said softly, "You should be like this roly-poly toy from now on. No matter what setbacks you suffer, you should always stand up with a smile."
