Chapter 340 Stealing a Moment of Leisure

early morning.

The mountains are shrouded in mist.

Qin Luo stood in front of the Taoist temple. He casually waved his hand, and a wisp of breeze dispersed the mountain mist. Lin Jia'er ran ahead with a white shoulder bag on her back, and Xiao Die followed closely behind her.

Before they knew it, it was time for Jinghu Academy to start school. Little Tuanzi was finally able to sleep a little longer in bed. As soon as they came down the mountain, they encountered Niu Mang, who was slowly pulling a cart.

"I arrived just in time."

"Thank you, Mountain God!"

Lin Jia'er skillfully boarded the oxcart, with Xiao Die sitting beside her, and Qin Luo following behind at a leisurely pace.

Outside Jinghu Academy.

When the donkey cart and the ox cart met, the horseman and the oxman carried the younger generation who lived far away to Jinghu Academy.

"Good morning, Dean!"

The younger generation greeted Qin Luo warmly.

The academy was filled with laughter and joy, a vibrant scene as Qin Luo and his companions arrived at the dining hall.

Qin Luo chose to drink porridge, Lin Jia'er ate fried dumplings, Xiao Die drank soy milk, and Zhao Qing'er and Chu Peiran ate noodles. They chatted and laughed with the younger generation.

As the bell rang, Qin Luo walked into the classroom. He saw small yellow flowers and letters on the teacher's desk. Qin Luo knew that these were gifts prepared for him by the younger generation.

The younger generation stood up, bowed respectfully, and said in unison, "Greetings, Dean!"

Qin Luo smiled and nodded, "Hello everyone!"

What are your plans for the new year?

Qin Luo looked at the younger generation.

The younger generation looked around, and some even scratched their heads; clearly, none of them had a plan.

Qin Luo smiled and said, "Let me first tell you my plan. In-class plan: I plan to teach you one hundred poems from the Book of Songs; out-of-class plan: organize spring outings, summer outings..."

The younger generation listened to Qin Luo's plan with shining eyes. After Qin Luo finished speaking, he chuckled and said, "For the first lesson of the new year, I hope you can make a plan. It can be a very comprehensive plan or a small goal. You can discuss it with each other, and you can ask me if you don't understand anything."

As soon as he finished speaking, the younger generation started talking. Linglong, who was next door, heard the noise and ran to their classroom to take a look. She only left after seeing Qin Luo there.

"Dean, could you offer some advice?"

"I have many plans, such as going to bed early and waking up early, exercising, studying hard, and helping others..."

"I want to study hard."

"I want to help classmates who need help."

The younger generation discussed their plans, some with eyes full of anticipation, others with burning passion.

Qin Luo looked at them with a smile in her eyes. The morning sun shone into the classroom, making it feel so warm.

......

The sun rises and sets, the seasons turn.

Qin Luo lived a simple life in the Ziyun Mountains. He spent most of his time teaching the younger generation at Jinghu Academy, cultivating himself at dawn and dusk, and occasionally strolling leisurely in the deep mountains, chatting with spirits and drinking with the mountain god. Time flew by, and three years passed in the blink of an eye.

Three years later, in the height of summer.

The cicadas were singing loudly in the afternoon.

In the small river near Jinghu Academy, Qin Luo led the younger generation to catch fish and collect snails. Tall trees lined both sides of the river, providing shade from the sun, and a cool breeze blew through the water.

Every season, Qin Luo would take the younger generation of Jinghu Academy out for a trip. He would sit under the shade of a tree, holding the Confucian classics that Chu Peiran had lent him, and murmur softly, "All things grow together without harming one another, and different paths can coexist without contradicting each other."

With the babbling of a stream and a gentle breeze on his face, Qin Luo looked up and saw green waves rippling in the distance, and azure blue skies dotted with fluffy white clouds. He felt an indescribable sense of comfort and ease.

Qin Luo closed the Confucian classic in his hand. He was somewhat lost in thought, then shook his head and sighed softly, "A great calamity is clearly approaching, yet I am stealing time."

In the evening, Qin Luo brought the younger generation back to Jinghu Academy. As soon as they entered the academy, a barefoot little boy ran excitedly towards him, holding mulberries wrapped in mulberry leaves in his hands, and said in a childish voice, "Uncle Qin, this is for you."

"Thank you, Xiao Xuan."

Qin Luo bent down and took the mulberry.

These mulberries were all picked by Xiaotuanzi.

Chu Xuan is the child of Chu Peiran and Zhao Qing'er. The couple is usually very busy, so their little dumpling has always helped them take care of the child.

Every day, the little dumpling would take Chu Xuan running all over the mountains and fields, and in the evening, it would bring Chu Xuan back to Jinghu Academy, and then come here to pick up Lin Jia'er to return to Longhu Temple.

The busiest creature in the Ziyun Mountains is Little Dumpling.

"Line up, everyone gets some."

"Thank you, Great Protector!"

The little dumpling brought back a lot of mulberries, and the younger generation all received a portion of mulberries. Although they weren't delicacies, everyone's faces were filled with joyful smiles.

After Qin Luo finished eating the mulberries, he picked up Chu Xuan and pinched his little face. "Why aren't you wearing shoes?"

"Uncle Qin, my shoes keep breaking, and my mother is unhappy, so she makes me go barefoot."

"Hahaha."

"hey-hey."

Qin Luo was amused by Chu Xuan, and then said softly, "Uncle Qin will give you a pair of shoes tomorrow."

"Yay!"

Chu Xuan clapped his hands with anticipation.

As the melodious bell rang, Jinghu Academy became lively; it was the bell signaling the end of the school term.

"Uncle Qin!"

A little girl in red ran towards Qin Luo.

Three years have passed, and Lin Jia'er has grown taller, almost as tall as Xiao Tuanzi.

Xiao Die and Xiao Tuanzi haven't changed at all. Xiao Tuanzi handed the remaining mulberries to Lin Jia'er, saying, "Jia'er, you work hard at school, this is for you."

"It wasn't tiring at all, thank you, Great Protector!"

"Uncle Qin, I'm going back to the Taoist temple to do my homework."

Qin Luo nodded with a smile.

"Let's go back!"

The little dumpling and its friends ran off in the blink of an eye.

Chu Xuan waved in the direction they left.
