A wisp of pure energy traversed Yin and Yang, slowly entering the underworld. Upon landing, it transformed into Qin Luo's appearance, dressed in flowing white robes, surrounded by swirling clouds and mist, resembling a banished immortal, otherworldly and peerless.
A group of ghosts passed by Qin Luo, but none of them noticed his presence. Even the ghost messengers, who were more powerful, did not notice him.
Not far away is Lu Xian's City God Temple.
The ghost messengers led the spirits to the City God Temple. Qin Luo followed the procession of spirits into the temple, and the spirits guarding the place did not notice anything unusual.
Deep within the City God Temple, a sinister and terrifying atmosphere permeated the air. Judge Cui sat high above, interrogating the wandering spirits. After the order of the underworld was restored, good deeds would be rewarded and evil deeds would be punished.
When Qin Luo appeared before Judge Cui, Judge Cui, who was sitting in the hall, was first taken aback, then his eyes widened, and he quickly stood up to greet him, saying warmly, "Master Qin, please forgive me for not greeting you sooner!"
"I had nothing to do, so I came to visit the City God Temple. I apologize for disturbing you. Please continue with your work." Qin Luo returned the greeting with a cupped hand.
Judge Cui intended to escort Qin Luo away from the City God Temple, but Qin Luo turned around and vanished like clouds.
Just as Judge Cui was in a daze, Lu Xian appeared beside him. "Old Cui, what's going on?"
Judge Cui came to his senses, his face still full of shock. "Master Qin just came by, and I didn't even notice. His Taoist skills are unimaginably high."
"Master Qin must be here to inspect our work; we can't slack off," Lu Xian said earnestly.
Judge Cui nodded repeatedly.
...
Qin Luo left the City God Temple and headed towards the Forbidden Land of the Underworld. Along the way, he encountered many ghosts, but there were ghost messengers maintaining order, so there was no chaos.
Deep within the forbidden land of the Yellow Springs lies the Yellow Springs Inn.
The tiger demon slept outside the inn, causing many spirits to avoid the place. When Qin Luo appeared, the tiger demon was instantly awakened, but it dared not move or even open its eyes.
Qin Luo didn't make things difficult for the tiger demon. He walked into the inn, and the ghosts inside didn't notice him. The Great Xia Martial Emperor, who was sitting in the corner, looked up and smiled at Qin Luo.
There were many ghosts in the inn. Some ghosts were lying on the table, visiting their families in their dreams. Others were listening to Yuanyuan tell stories. Yuanyuan was petite and had a sunny smile on her face, which made people feel like they were bathed in a spring breeze.
Yuanyuan's eyes shone with joy when she saw Qin Luo. However, she was still telling stories to the ghosts and could only smile in Qin Luo's direction.
Qin Luo smiled and nodded in acknowledgment. He walked to a corner of the inn, sat down opposite the Great Xia Martial Emperor, and said softly, "Senior, are you getting used to staying here?"
Emperor Wu of the Great Xia Dynasty looked refined and approachable, without any airs. He nodded slightly, "I'm used to it. It's very lively here, much more comfortable than in the palace. Yuanyuan is also very sensible. She chats with me and tells me stories every day. I wish my Xian'er was as sensible as her."
Yuanyuan was telling the ghost the story of "marking the boat to find the sword," a story Qin Luo had told her.
Qin Luo gazed at the Great Xia Martial Emperor, "Senior, can you accept such an ending?"
Emperor Wu of the Great Xia smiled calmly, "I have tried my best to change what I could change, and I can also accept what I cannot change. I have no regrets about dying in the battle against the Heavenly Dao. I am very satisfied with this ending."
"Then what is it that you are still longing for, senior?"
“I fear that when Zhu Xian prays to his ancestors, no one will respond.”
Emperor Wu of the Great Xia Dynasty had a gentle look in his eyes.
Qin Luo said with a smile, "If Zhu Xian knew that the senior had chosen not to enter the cycle of reincarnation for him, he would definitely be very moved."
"Perhaps so. These are all things I owe her. I've never spent enough time with her."
Emperor Wu of the Great Xia shook his head and sighed softly.
Qin Luo said earnestly, "I can feel that in Zhu Xian's heart, you are the greatest."
"Hahaha."
Emperor Wu of the Great Xia Dynasty smiled happily upon hearing this.
"The Imperial Preceptor said that you would become one with the Heavenly Dao and become the ruler of the world, so I wanted to entrust Zhu Xian to you. I just didn't expect that you, a person who cherishes life, would ultimately choose to give up the hope of living."
"It was the Imperial Advisor who left me no way out."
What are your plans now?
"Live well."
The Great Xia Emperor couldn't help but chuckle, "Even the humblest person must live; that's what makes a true strongman."
Yuanyuan said to the ghost beside her, "We know that the sword that marks the boat is hard to find, but in the long river of time, we who stand still are just like those who are trying to find the sword by marking the boat."
After listening to Yuanyuan's story, some of the ghosts smiled bitterly, while others suddenly realized the truth.
"Don't dwell on the past, don't fear the future, reincarnation is not the end." After Yuanyuan finished speaking, many ghosts nodded in agreement.
Yuanyuan turned and ran into the kitchen. She brought the brewed tea to a corner of the inn and said respectfully, "Big brother, I received the letter you burned for me. I'm doing well in the underworld, so you don't need to worry."
"Where's the kid?"
"He went out to pick forget-me-nots."
"Are you out playing?"
No, no.
Yuanyuan quickly waved her hand.
Qin Luo knew that Xiao Gui had been frequently leaving the Yellow Springs Inn recently, and only Yuan Yuan was usually at the inn.
Have you missed me?
"some."
Yuanyuan nodded obediently.
Qin Luo reached out and rubbed Yuan Yuan's head. "If you miss me in the future, or if you feel too busy, just call out to me loudly, and I will appear by your side."
"Uh-huh."
Yuanyuan nodded happily.
Qin Luo had given Yuan Yuan some instructions when he left the Yellow Springs Inn, but Yuan Yuan hadn't called out to him even once since he left, as she didn't want to cause him any trouble.
"Let me tell you the story of Longhu Temple."
"Uh-huh."
Yuanyuan's eyes were full of anticipation.
Qin Luo proactively shared his experiences of returning to Longhu Temple with Yuanyuan, including Chu Peiran's marriage and childbirth.
