In the backyard of the Taoist temple, peach blossoms are falling.
Jin Yan gazed at his senior brother, Qin Luo, who sat cross-legged on the platform in meditation. His long hair was loose, and the glow of the sunset fell on him, making him blend into the world, as if he were one with heaven and earth.
Qin Luo's consciousness was in his inner vision. He was thinking about why humans and heaven had to fight. He disliked fighting and neither supported the idea that humans could conquer heaven nor that heaven could conquer humans.
The little dumpling returned to the Taoist temple with a fish many times larger than its own body, but Jin Yan gestured for it to be quiet, not wanting it to disturb his senior brother's meditation.
Seeing Qin Luo meditating, the little dumpling wisely left, tossing the big fish outside the Taoist temple.
Jinjiao was overjoyed.
It held the fish and devoured it.
late at night.
The Taoist temple was unusually quiet.
The full moon in the sky was reflected in the water vat.
Qin Luo sat cross-legged alone on the platform. He slowly opened his eyes and pondered for a long time without finding an answer.
Zhang Fulong came to the backyard, his hands behind his back, his eyes deep and his expression solemn. He said, "Qin Luo, if you go to this Dao Discussion Conference, there's a high probability you won't come back."
Qin Luo asked with a smile, "Master, if I don't go to the capital to discuss the Dao, will they let it go?"
"Won't."
"But you can leave Longhu Temple."
"The cause and effect here is too great!"
Zhang Fulong shook his head helplessly.
Qin Luo said firmly, "This disciple will not leave when there is trouble at Longhu Temple."
Zhang Fulong smiled, gazing at the old peach tree with boundless sorrow in his eyes. "A great calamity is coming. Neither the celestial palaces nor the dynasties on earth will ever exist again."
Qin Luo stood up and asked respectfully, "Master, what great calamity is it?"
Zhang Fulong sighed softly, "Every ten thousand years, a great calamity will occur in the world, taking away countless lives and changing the order of the world."
"Is this the origin of the conflict between the divine and the human?"
"That's right."
Zhang Fulong nodded, his expression solemn, and said, "Heaven does not allow any order to threaten its existence. Every once in a while, it will clean up this world. Just like when you clean the Taoist temple, in its eyes, it's just that there's too much garbage on the ground."
Qin Luo suddenly realized, "Master, so the decline of the Heavenly Court is also related to the Great Calamity?"
"It's related, but the main reason for the decline of the Heavenly Court is internal conflict." Zhang Fulong shook his head and sighed, "The Heavenly Court failed because it was not united enough."
Qin Luo felt that what his master said made a lot of sense. Back then, the underworld chose to stand by and watch, and now they are the worst off.
"Master, why was our ancestor expelled from the sect by the Dao Ancestor?" This was a question that had troubled Qin Luo for a long time.
Zhang Fulong smiled wryly and said, "This goes back to the initial struggle between Heaven and Man. The Dao Ancestor wanted to maintain the order established by the Heavenly Court, but he advised the Dao Ancestor not to go against Heaven."
"I see!"
Qin Luo looked at Zhang Fulong, "Master, I think the Ancestral Master still supports the Dao Ancestor."
Although the founder of Longhu Temple was expelled from the sect by the Taoist Ancestor, he still worships the Taoist Ancestor.
Zhang Fulong smiled and said, "Of course, but he doesn't believe that human will can overcome nature. Do you?"
Qin Luo replied with a smile, "Master, humans may not necessarily be unable to overcome nature, but I believe that nature and humans can coexist."
Zhang Fulong nodded with satisfaction, "Yes, in fact, the Dao Ancestor had the same idea back then, so he chose to reason with Heaven."
What was the result?
Qin Luo looked very curious.
Zhang Fulong gazed at the vast starry sky, "In the end, the Heavenly Dao collapsed, and the Dao Ancestor died and his Dao vanished. He shielded the Heavenly Court from the great calamity, but the Heavenly Court still crumbled!"
Qin Luo raised his head and looked at the bright moonlight. No wonder he felt that something was missing from the world. It turned out that the Dao Ancestor had broken the Heavenly Dao, causing many rules to be incomplete.
"Master, if the Heavenly Dao has collapsed, then why is a great calamity approaching?"
"The collapse of the Heavenly Dao does not mean that He is dead. Those who cannot kill Him will only make Him stronger. He will reclaim the power that belongs to Him. Only beings who surpass the Dao Ancestor can stop Him!"
"Perhaps I can offer Him some advice."
Qin Luo felt a sense of closeness to this world.
Zhang Fulong looked at Qin Luo and said, "If you can obtain the Daoist scriptures left by the Dao Ancestor, perhaps you can reason with Him."
"The Daoist Canon?"
Qin Luo murmured softly.
Zhang Fulong stood with his hands behind his back, looking south. "The legacy left by the Dao Ancestor may be in the Wushang Temple."
Qin Luo felt it was necessary for him to make a trip to the capital. He said earnestly, "Master, even if the capital is a den of dragons and tigers, I still want to go and see it."
"You are braver than me."
"This is my intuition."
Zhang Fulong suddenly asked curiously, "Qin Luo, didn't you ever suspect who I am?"
Qin Luo shook his head.
Could it be that Master has another identity?
Zhang Fulong turned around with a smile and walked deeper into the Taoist temple, murmuring, "I am Zhang Fulong."
Qin Luo stopped thinking about these complicated things. He returned to his room, looked at the message Hua Ying had written on the wall again, and then lay down on the bed to rest, listening to his own breathing.
The next day, early morning.
Qin Luo arrived at the foot of Luoxia Peak.
It was still early, and Zhao Qing'er was cooking porridge at the porridge shop when Qin Luo arrived.
"Miss Zhao, there's something I'd like to tell you."
"Immortal Master, what is it?"
Zhao Qing'er raised an eyebrow.
“I see you teaching children in the mountains to read and write at the porridge shop. I’d like to build an academy in the mountains.”
"OK."
Zhao Qing'er smiled and said, "I've thought about this for a long time. The Zhao family can provide the funds."
Qin Luo shook his head slightly, "I'm offering this money from Longhu Temple because I want to invite Miss Zhao to be a teacher."
Zhao Qing'er felt she wasn't qualified, but since Qin Luo had invited her, she decided to give it a try. "Okay."
After leaving the porridge shop, Qin Luo searched for a location in the mountains and found a flat wasteland next to Mirror Lake, very close to Chenjiagou. "This is a good place."
