Chapter 9 Junior Sister Returns Home

Baiyun Town.

The sky was high and the clouds were light, and the sun was shining brightly.

Today is market day, and the streets of Baiyun Town are bustling with activity as vendors hawk their wares on both sides of the street.

"Junior Sister, what would you like to eat?"

Qin Luo wore a simple white robe, his long hair tied up. He walked among the common people, yet there was not a speck of dust on him.

Ziyue carried a bamboo basket on her back. She looked at the old man selling candied hawthorns not far away. She really wanted to eat candied hawthorns, but they wouldn't fill her up. She pointed to the mutton stall on the street.

"Senior brother, I want to drink mutton soup."

The mutton stalls on the street had signs that said mutton soup was six coins a bowl, and you could get free refills.

Qin Luo stepped forward and asked with a smile, "Shopkeeper, can I have half a bowl of mutton soup for three coins?"

"sure."

The middle-aged stall owner's face was full of smiles.

Qin Luo only had three coins on him, but even though it was just half a bowl of mutton soup, Zi Yue was still very happy.

This is a roadside stall. Qin Luo and Zi Yue are sitting on a bench by the street. Recently, Longhu Temple has become more and more famous, and passers-by will take the initiative to greet them.

"The mutton soup is here."

The middle-aged stall owner came over with a large bowl of mutton, his face full of smiles. He said respectfully, "Master, please eat first. If you're not full, I'll add more."

"Enough! Enough!"

Ziyue's eyes shone brightly as she nodded repeatedly. This amount was more than she had eaten mutton in a whole year.

The stall owner continued with his business.

A normal bowl of mutton soup consists mainly of broth, with at most a few slices of mutton and the rest being offal. But this bowl of mutton soup has no broth; there are only large chunks of mutton in the bowl.

Upon seeing Qin Luo and Zi Yue, even people who don't usually drink soup rushed over to drink mutton soup, making the stall lively. They felt very prestigious to drink the same soup as the immortal master.

"It smells so good!"

Ziyue was eating mutton.

While the stall owner wasn't busy, Qin Luo took out three coins and handed them to him. Then he took out an exorcism talisman from his pocket and handed it to the stall owner. "Shopkeeper, three coins is definitely not enough for this bowl of meat. I hope you can accept this exorcism talisman."

"This... thank you very much, Immortal Master."

The middle-aged stall owner bowed deeply in gratitude.

Qin Luo sat down next to his junior sister.

With her mouth full of mutton, Zi Yue's eyes widened in surprise as she exclaimed, "Senior brother, that's a hundred taels!"

One hundred taels can buy a lot of sheep.

Qin Luo didn't mind, "Junior Sister, we are cultivators, we can't take advantage of ordinary people."

"Uh-huh."

Ziyue seemed lost in thought.

He kept his senior's words in mind.

The stall owner brought over a bowl of mutton soup, a plate of white steamed buns, and two pounds of cooked mutton, saying warmly, "Master, this is just a small token of my appreciation."

Qin Luo nodded with a smile.

"Thank you, sir."

Ziyue stood up to express her gratitude.

"You're welcome."

"Little fairy, eat it while it's hot."

The middle-aged stall owner couldn't stop smiling. Li Dazhuang had mentioned to him before when he came here for mutton soup that his young lady had spent a hundred taels of silver to buy an exorcism talisman.

The value of exorcism talismans is self-evident.

"So full!"

Ziyue wiped her mouth.

She knew that following her senior brother was the right thing to do.

Qin Luo brought his junior sister to Old Chen's incense shop.

"Oh, the immortal master has arrived."

Chen Changshou's attitude was noticeably better than before.

"Old Chen, the same old rules."

"Immortal Master, we should settle the bill this time."

Chen Changshou said with a forced smile that the place he bought the most goods from was Longhuguan, and he still hadn't received any payment.

Qin Luo handed Chen Changshou a piece of paper. "Elder Chen, this is a written agreement made by my master. His name and fingerprint are already stamped on it. You can fill in as much as you want."

Chen Changshou looked at the document in his hand with a wry smile. "Master, recently the supply of incense and paper money has been insufficient. I would like to order more, but this document is useless."

Qin Luo knew that Chen Changshou was in trouble. "Old Chen, how about this? I'll draw two talismans for you as compensation. You can take the talismans and exchange them for some money."

"Are the talismans you draw valuable?"

Chen Changshou expressed his doubts about this.

"Hmph, my senior brother's talismans are incredibly powerful." Zi Yue proudly put her hands on her hips, knowing the power of talismans.

Chen Changshou heard that Zhang Fulong's exorcism talisman was worth one hundred taels of silver. Qin Luo was his apprentice, and his skill level was definitely much lower, but it was better to have it than nothing. It might even be of some use.

"All right."

Chen Changshou agreed to Qin Luo's proposal.

The materials for drawing talismans are available at incense shops. Qin Luo began to draw talismans, and his skill level had clearly improved. He could draw intricate patterns in one stroke. Chen Changshou rubbed his eyes. He had seen Taoist priests draw talismans before, but none of them were as fast as Qin Luo. Moreover, the patterns on the talisman paper were like swimming dragons, majestic and powerful.

"Master, what kind of talisman is this?"

"This is a house-protecting talisman. Placing it in your home can ward off evil spirits and bring good fortune. It should be worth some money."

Chen Changshou picked up the house-protecting talisman and examined it carefully. He stared at it intently, liking it more and more the more he looked at it.

In the blink of an eye.

Qin Luo finished drawing the second house-protecting talisman.

Chen Changshou looked at the two house-protecting talismans in his hand and felt that they were quite extraordinary. "Immortal Master, please take the incense and candles as you like."

Qin Luo still followed the old rules when getting the goods.

"Thank you for your help, Mr. Chen."

"Remember to pay the bill next time."

"no problem."

Qin Luo smiled and agreed. Zi Yue carried the bamboo basket full of incense and candles on her back, and she followed her senior brother away from the incense shop.

After they left, Chen Changshou carefully put away a house-protecting talisman. He planned to keep it at home, thinking, "I'm going to Jinyang City to buy goods anyway, so I'll take this talisman to the Treasure Pavilion. Maybe I can sell it for a good price."

Sunset Peak.

When Ziyue reached the foot of the mountain, she raised her sleeve and said crisply, "Come out, Little Whirlwind."
