Chapter 6

Chapter 6

"It's really interesting," Qin Mian said with a doting look in his eyes as he stroked the little squirrel's head, "and it's a very smart little thing."

Bai Quan looked at the little squirrel that was holding onto the eldest brother's finger and chewing it, and said with some envy: "Brother Qin Mian, can I touch him?"

This sentence made the man and the rat stop fighting, and then they both looked straight at Bai Quan, but there was a hint of displeasure in Qin Mian's eyes, while Song Shu's eyes were already spitting fire.

"Gugu!"

Who are you? You want to touch the rat’s head when we meet!

"Ahem," Qin Mian cleared his throat, raised his hand to block Song Shu, who was about to hit Bai Quan, and said nonchalantly, "It's afraid of strangers. If a stranger touches it, it's likely to have nightmares at night."

"oh."

Bai Quan said regretfully: "Forget it then."

"Gugu!"

Rats are not afraid of strangers!

Reaching out to shield Song Shu's face, Qin Mian said calmly, "Go back to the sect and tell Master that I will reinforce the formation of Lingshan on time, so that he can rest assured."

Baiquan nodded: "I know."

As the two were talking, Bai Quan glanced at the little squirrel that was struggling with Qin Mian's palm. Its pink and tender claws were twisting Qin Mian's fingers, and the fur on its chest was fluffy and thick, which made it obvious that it would feel very good to touch!

She's even wearing a cape, so cute!

Bai Quan was not giving up and said, "Brother Qin Mian, I think this little squirrel has a lively temperament. Maybe just touching it won't cause a nightmare."

Qin Mian said nothing, only slightly sideways glanced at Bai Quan, his gaze colder than the snow falling on his shoulders, frightening Bai Quan so much that he shuddered, his face slightly changed, and he laughed and said, "I'll go back first. See you next spring, brother."

"Um."

Qin Mian said indifferently, "See you next spring."

Bai Quan turned around and took a few steps, but perhaps because he couldn't touch the little squirrel, the more he thought about it, he suddenly stopped, took out some spiritual fruits from his storage bag and placed them on a porcelain plate, then turned and ran towards Qin Mian, saying excitedly, "Brother Qin Mian, wait a minute."

Qin Mian was still playing with Song Shu and stood outside the door. Seeing Bai Quan rushing back, he asked curiously, "Master, is there anything else you want to tell me?"

"no."

Bai Quan shyly handed the porcelain plate of spiritual fruits to Qin Mian, looking at the clever little squirrel on his shoulder with sparkling eyes. He said sincerely, "Master gave me a lot of spiritual fruits earlier. I couldn't finish them, so I thought of sharing some with the little fellow."

"You don't need to eat during your fasting, but the little one can't. Food is hard to find in winter, and the winter around Lingshan is even more unbearable than outside. Give it some spiritual fruits to keep it warm."

"Gurgle."

I actually met a good person!

Song Shu flicked his big tail, making Qin Mian's face itch. He pinched the little squirrel's furry tail with one hand and took the thing from Bai Quan with the other. Qin Mian said politely, "Then I thank you on behalf of the squirrel."

"Gu."

What a fragrant aura!

Thank you man.

"Hey." Bai Quan asked curiously, "Brother Qin Mian, didn't you give it a name?"

"Rise up."

Qin Mian said helplessly: "Unfortunately, it still likes people to call it squirrel, so I changed it back."

"I see."

Bai Quan rubbed his fingers together and wanted to ask again if he could touch the little squirrel, but when he saw Qin Mian's eyes that said, "Are you okay? If not, go ahead," all the courage he had mustered vanished, and he said listlessly, "Then I'll leave first."

Qin Mian said leisurely: "Well, go slowly on the way back."

Bai Quan:......

Unable to touch the little squirrel, Bai Quan could only look at its dangling tail with nostalgia, and finally left disappointed. Qin Mian took the spiritual fruit presented by his junior brother and leisurely returned to the house with the little squirrel.

Once the door was closed, all the wind and snow were blocked outside.

"Not bad."

Putting the porcelain plate on the table, Qin Mian said jokingly with a smile: "But it's the first time we meet, and someone brings you food."

Song Shu put his hands on his hips and said proudly, "Gugu."

Since Ru Shu is so handsome and cool, it is only natural that someone would send him food.

"Give me a bamboo pole and I'll climb up." Raising his hand and flicking Song Shu's head, Qin Mian said with a smile, "Do you want to eat it first, or should I keep it for you?"

Covering his forehead with his hands, Song Shu angrily bit Qin Mian's chin and shouted "gurgling" that he wanted to eat.

"Tsk, what a bad temper."

Qin Mian sighed, then reached out to the spiritual fruit on the table without hesitation.

Under Song Shu's shocked eyes, Qin Mian put the spiritual fruits on the table back into the storage ring, leaving only one alone.

"Gu?"

Rat's spiritual fruit?

"Gu!"

Grain thief, rats will never coexist with you!

Song Shu shouted loudly and pounced on Qin Mian's face, attacking him with two fierce claws, but it couldn't hurt Qin Mian at all. The man smiled and said, "I'm afraid you'll be greedy and get sick from eating too much. After thinking about it, I decided to keep it for you first."

Song Shu: "Gu!"

Rats are not fools, so how could they be greedy? Besides, how could they feel at ease leaving the food with the grain thief?

"Yes, eat a spiritual fruit this morning."

Qin Mian didn't notice Song Shu's guard against him at all. He put Song Shu on the table and said cheerfully, "After you finish eating, I'll take you out for a walk later."

Take a walk?

Song Shu's expression froze.

What good places are there to go out for a walk in winter? Glancing at Qin Mian like a fool, Song Shu held the red spiritual fruit and started to eat it.

What a fragrant spiritual fruit.

Why does it feel like the spiritual energy is more abundant than the one Shu had accumulated before?

Song Shu was lost in thought while chewing the food. He didn't know if it was an illusion, but he felt that there were fewer spiritual foods in Lingshan this year than last year.

Even though he was a top-notch finder of food in Lingshan, the winter food he found this year was just enough to get through the winter. He didn't know what to do with those animals that were not so good at finding food.

While chewing on the sweet and fragrant spiritual fruit, Song Shu looked at the snow falling outside the window, with a rare hint of sadness in his dark eyes.

After eating the spiritual fruit, Qin Mian really wanted to take Song Shu out. Before leaving, he put on a red cloak that Song Shu had never seen before, which made his already handsome face look even more colorful.

Song Shu lay on Qin Mian's shoulder, his thick cloak almost covering him completely, leaving only a pair of dark eyes rolling around.

"Don't move for a moment."

Qin Mian stopped laughing and warned seriously, "Otherwise, if you get frozen, you'll probably be in pain for a while."

"Gu."

The grain thief is talkative.

Song Shu hooked Qin Mian's clothes with his two claws, but he didn't care. No matter how cold it was, could it be as cold as the winter in Lingshan?

Seeing Song Shu's arrogant look, Qin Mian laughed and shook his head. Without saying anything more, he walked towards the southeast in the wind and snow.

The squirrel looked at the scenery outside through the narrow gap. The more he looked, the more familiar it seemed. Isn't this the place where the squirrel came down from Lingshan?

Look at that fence. The rat crawled out of the fence when it went down the mountain. Could it be that the grain thief wanted to enter Lingshan?

Seeing Qin Mian getting closer and closer to Lingshan, Song Shu's hair stood on end. If the grain thief really wanted to enter Lingshan, the rat would jump down and run away immediately.

If the snow from Lingshan falls on the rats, they will freeze to death!

Fortunately, Qin Mian did not really want to enter Lingshan. He just walked a few steps around the periphery. Then Song Shu found that Qin Mian stopped in front of a huge rock.

Taking off his cloak, Qin Mian placed Song Shu on a tree not far away. With the cloak securely covering Song Shu, Qin Mian warned him, "Don't come out."

Song Shu: "Gu."

The rat won't go out.

He understood the severity of the Lingshan snow, so he would not seek hardship for himself.

Raising his hand and touching the little squirrel's warm chest, Qin Mian chuckled and walked towards the rock.

Song Shu looked out through the tiny gap between the cloak and the branches, and saw Qin Mian making hand seals and mumbling something that the rat couldn't understand. Then golden lines began to flash on the rock.

As the spell Qin Mian chanted became longer and longer, the golden lines on the rock became clearer and clearer, until finally Qin Mian cast the seal towards the rock, and a flash of golden light almost blinded Song Shu's eyes.

So bright.

Could the grain thief be blind?

A cold wind blew quietly, and Song Shu shook his body. Then he saw Qin Mian walking towards him, but compared to the leisurely stroll before he set out, it seemed that his steps were heavier now.

Putting on his cloak again, Qin Mian touched Song Shu's head with pale lips and chuckled, "Do you want to go for a run later?"

Song Shu shook his head: "Gu."

The mouse returned to the thatched hut and ran away again.

"Alright," Qin Mian said as the heavy snow fell on his eyelashes. He glanced at the dark sky and sighed softly, "Let's go back first."

"Gu."

The rat agreed.

The man and the mouse set out on their journey home. Song Shu clung to Qin Mian's shoulders and glanced at his increasingly pale lips with a sense of inexplicable worry.

Why did the rat feel that the grain thief was about to faint?

Fortunately, Qin Mian did not really faint, but took Song Shu back to the thatched cottage safely. However, Song Shu found that the grain thief seemed to have lost his energy after returning.

Not only did he only read the scroll for a while in the afternoon, but even when Song Shu swung towards him through the curtains on the bed, he just curled his lips and smiled faintly, and did not continue to play with Song Shu.

There is something wrong with the grain thief.

Song Shu glanced at Qin Mian's face and felt that it seemed even paler than in the morning.

After cleaning all four of Song Shu's paws at night, Qin Mian took the little squirrel to bed, pulled the quilt over him and prepared to sleep.

"Squirrel," Qin Mian said softly in the dark night, "Go to bed early."

The grain thief actually sleeps!

Looking at Qin Mian who was sleeping with his eyes closed, Song Shu raised his claws and tentatively scratched his high nose bridge, but he accidentally scratched a bloody mark.

Fortunately, it was not deep, only a shallow mark, and Qin Mian just frowned and did not open his eyes.

"Gu?"

How could a rat scratch a grain thief’s face and make it bleed?

After a moment of confusion, Song Shu looked at Qin Mian, who was completely unaware, with ill intent.

Humph.

This is a great opportunity.

The rat can take advantage of the thief's weakness and scratch his face to warn him to behave well in the future and never covet other people's food.

The pink claws were raised high in the darkness, and when they were about to tear the face of the elegant young man, they suddenly stopped and gently pressed on the right cheek of the young man.

never mind.

Rats never take advantage of people's misfortune.

Besides, the spiritual fruit that person sent today was very delicious. The rat hadn’t eaten enough yet. It would deal with the food thief after it had finished eating.

The small figure circled around the sleeping person, and finally Song Shu found an excellent position on Qin Mian's chest. The grain thief felt warm on his chest and slept comfortably.

Song Shu closed his eyes, stretched out his limbs, and decided to have a good sleep.

The man and the mouse seem to be quite harmonious.

-

As midnight approached, moonlight shone through the window onto the simple wooden bed.

A flash of white light passed, and the tiny squirrel transformed into a long-legged, slender-waisted, naked young man. His cheeks were chubby, his limbs stretched out wide, half his face pressed against the chest of the man below him. His delicate eyebrows knitted nervously, his rosy lips pouting slightly.

In the dark night, he moved his body, opened his ink-black eyes, raised his hand and touched the tip of his nose nonchalantly. When he was about to fall asleep again, he suddenly found that the pink claws turned into the slender and well-proportioned fingers of a human, and the palms were slightly red.

Song Shu: "Huh?"

How did the mouse suddenly turn into a human?

The author has something to say:

----------------------

Song Shu: Rats are popular [Come on]

Qin Mian (angrily): Tsk, how come you fell asleep? [angry]
