Chapter 38 The Overbearing School Board Chairman, Wait for Me (10)
Lin Chujiu stared blankly in the direction the crowd was looking.
She recognized him—the strange man from that night—but she never expected that he was the same school board chairman Yu Xuan had mentioned before.
Thinking of Yu Xuan, Lin Chujiu felt a surge of sorrow once again.
At the same time, Mingdu glanced in her direction and then quickly looked away.
"Director Zeng has quite the air about him."
The man stood at the front of the crowd and sneered.
The viewers in the live stream were instantly captivated by his handsomeness.
Holy crap, holy crap, are you a champion of justice, brother?
[Ahhhhh, so handsome! Thriller World should print his face on horror livestreaming apps!]
He could live off his good looks for a hundred years, only to find that he was still devastatingly handsome.
[This guy and Jiu Jiu seem like a good match, sorry backstabber]
Director Zeng, who had almost written the word "villain" on his face, instantly softened his expression.
"No, no, there was a little trouble here, I was just dealing with it."
He tried to smear the matter as a “mess” to kill it.
He glanced at Mingdu's expression and gritted his teeth, asking in return:
"What brings you here today, Mr. Ming? What strong wind blew you here?"
Mingdu recalled the scene of the two security guards holding Lin Chujiu up, and his smile grew even colder: "Oh?"
He didn't answer, but instead asked:
"What's going on? Why are parents being stopped from entering, and why is a student being carried around?"
He was usually quite sharp-tongued, but now his tone became somewhat nonchalant, which only added to the irony.
The school principal chuckled and said, "It's nothing serious. It's just that some parents are being unreasonable and causing trouble. One of the students is mentally unstable and wants to be with them, so we have to do something about it."
Lin Chujiu was so angry after hearing this that she wanted to curse.
"Who's mentally unstable? You're the one who's mentally unstable!"
She didn't go on to explain why Yu Xuan's parents had come, fearing that Ming Du was just there to put on airs but would actually be aiding and abetting evil.
That would be even more disadvantageous for Yu Xuan's parents.
Lin Chujiu's understanding of Mingdu was still based on that strange man from that night.
The school principal gritted his teeth, glared fiercely at Lin Chujiu, then looked at Mingdu, wanting to try and brush it off again, but heard Mingdu's voice light and slow:
"Okay, I understand everything."
"What do you know?" The school principal was first stunned, then panicked.
He was unsure what the young school board member knew, or how much he knew.
He felt a sudden panic.
"Parents, please stay at the hotel for three days. I will give you a result after three days." Ming Du said to Yu Xuan's parents, his previously dismissive expression towards the school principal gone, now quite solemn.
A man in black walked up behind him and came to Yu Xuan's parents. He said respectfully, "Parents, I will take you there. All your expenses for the next three days will be reimbursed by President Ming."
Yu Xuan's mother looked at the young man with trembling eyes.
She recognized the man.
The Crown Prince of Fengdu Dragon King's Mansion is known for his fairness and impartiality. He recently became a board member of Linhai University, which Xuanxuan mentioned when she called them.
Thinking of Xuanxuan, her nose tingled again, and her heart ached uncontrollably.
Yu Xuan's father embraced his weeping wife and gave Ming Du a deep look.
Mingdu met his gaze calmly.
The people around them looked at them with puzzlement.
After a long while, Yu Xuan's father nodded slightly to Ming Du.
"Then I'll have to trouble you." Yu Xuan's father said in a hoarse voice as he left with his wife.
He had wandered around the vicinity of Fengdu when he was young and had a very good impression of the old Dragon King.
His son should... be just as good.
Xuanxuan is dead. All he can do as her father is seek justice for her.
Instead of obstructing a genuine investigation.
Lin Chujiu watched as Yu Xuan's parents left, feeling confused and helpless, and looked at Mingdu.
Not far away, a tall man stood against the light.
Lin Chujiu felt her mind go blank, unsure of what to do.
In a daze, she heard Mingdu calling her to go back.
After an unknown amount of time, the farce ended, and Lin Chujiu sat blankly in her dormitory, her mind still a complete blank.
When Jiang Tiantian and Fang Duo saw Lin Chujiu return, both of them had tears in their eyes.
Lin Chujiu had only known them for three days and didn't have any deep feelings for them, but the two of them had known Yu Xuan for two months.
The girls in the dorm have always had a great relationship and have never had any conflicts. Although they have only known each other for two months, their relationship is probably better than that of many college roommates who have been together for four years.
Lin Chujiu understood them, and without saying a word, she just sat there blankly.
Fang Duo and Jiang Tiantian thought she was terrified, so they came over and hugged her and cried together.
A dark shadow passed by outside the window, and Lin Chujiu stared blankly at it. Her empty pupils reflected only a dark corner of the world.
And the darkest part is something she never wants to see, and will never see.

With instructions from the school board members, no one stopped Lin Chujiu anymore.
They just wouldn't let her leave the school gate.
Lin Chujiu left the dormitory in a daze, feeling as if her heart was completely empty.
She went to the grass next to the library and started digging in the ground, then picked up a small stone and played with it out of boredom.
Just as she was feeling depressed and bored, a cat's meow suddenly rang out—
"Meow wow~"
Lin Chujiu paused in her digging, then looked in the direction of the sound—
A small, orange figure appeared in front of her. As if sensing her distress, a pair of brown cat eyes looked at her with concern.
Lin Chujiu patted the dirt off her hands and expressionlessly extended her "claws" towards the little orange cat.
The little orange kitten obediently stuck its head out, its pair of orange ears drooping like airplane ears.
Lin Chujiu plopped down on a rock, grabbed the cat, and started petting it!
The little orange cat meowed in dissatisfaction, but was ignored by the heartless woman Lin Chujiu. In the end, it could only look up at the sky with a look of utter despair.
Meow was wrong; Meow shouldn't have come to comfort this woman.
Lin Chujiu's hand unconsciously "ravaged" the little orange cat's body. Just as she was about to touch the cat's testicles, the little orange cat suddenly jumped up from Lin Chujiu's arms!
Meow meow meow meow, this woman has no cat etiquette, she actually touched that place!
Lin Chujiu was a little bewildered when she saw the little orange cat jump up, until she suddenly realized that she was touching the cat's testicles.
Lin Chujiu smiled sheepishly and stood up.
The little orange cat led her to the grove of trees on the other side of the library.
She remembered rule number three, which involved not taking the cat to places it didn't want to go against its will. Now, the cat wanted to take her somewhere, so that didn't seem like a rule violation.
Lin Chujiu followed the cat, somewhat curious about where Little Orange would take her.
