Chapter 4 is in trouble.

Zhou Mingjiao pointed her trembling finger at Zhou Mingqian and his wife as if they had committed a heinous crime, while shouting, "I'm going to tell Mother."

Zhou Mingqian curled his lip in disdain. "Go ahead and sue. What else can you do besides sue?"

He turned his head and said, "Honey, don't worry, I'll definitely make sure you don't have to go to work. You can stay home and raise the baby."

When they returned from work, the Zhou family home became lively.

Zhou's mother shouted, "Zhou Mingqian, you brat! I told you not to bully your sister, are you deaf? How old are you? Don't you know how to be considerate of your sister? All you do is cause trouble. You can't even work properly. I wonder how you're going to support your child?"

Zhou Mingqian grinned and said, "Mom, aren't you and Dad still here? You're both so capable, how could my little one go hungry?" As for his little sister, he was too lazy to talk about it; all she did all day was cry and cry.

Zhou's mother grabbed Zhou Mingqian's ear and said, "You're so lazy."

Zhou Mingqian cried out exaggeratedly, "Ouch, ouch, ouch, I'm going to die, my ears are going to fall off."

Zhou's mother subconsciously loosened her grip, and Shen Banxia watched with great interest. Don't blame her for not leaving; there wasn't even a red mark.

The rest of the Zhou family were used to it; after all, their eldest son had been unreliable for quite some time.

"Listen to me, or I won't forgive you if you bully your little sister again."

“Alright, alright, little sister is heaven and earth, little sister is the ancestor of our whole family, let’s all do as she says, okay? I was wrong, okay?” Zhou Mingqian was very sensible.

Zhou's mother choked, "Alright, stop being silly and talking nonsense. You know what the situation is. Your younger sister is still young, and you brothers should be more considerate of her. Besides, your younger sister will eventually get married and leave home. Shouldn't you be more accommodating to her when she's at her parents' house?" Knowing her eldest son's character, she started to reason with him.

Zhou Mingqian's lips twitched. He wasn't going to argue, but he couldn't hold back any longer. "Mom, are you going to abandon your little sister now that she's married?"

"Bullshit! Your little sister will always be my daughter. Who would dare to bully her?" Zhou's mother shouted. She was her only beloved daughter.

Zhou Mingqian spread his hands, shrugged his shoulders, and had a look on his face that said, "See? I knew it."

Zhou's mother's face flushed with a rare heat, and she became angry and embarrassed. "Alright, it's time to eat. Stop nagging me."

Seeing that her older brother had managed to smooth things over again, Zhou Mingjiao became upset. "Mom~", she cried out, her voice full of grievance.

"Cough cough cough, eldest son, apologize to your sister. All you do all day is bully her." Zhou's mother couldn't bear to see her good daughter suffer.

"Sorry," Zhou Mingqian said readily.

Zhou Mingjiao: ……

Like a fishbone stuck in my throat, like a thorn in my back, like sitting on pins and needles—these are the three Confucian principles.

She was genuinely furious; she had always trusted her intuition.

Don't be fooled by the fact that her older brother and sister-in-law were just being lazy as usual; this time was different. She couldn't quite explain why, but she felt that if she didn't do something, the feeling of losing her precious child would never go away.

She was unhappy, but she wasn't thinking of causing trouble for her older brother whom she disliked.

Thinking of what she had overheard, she thought, "Mother, my eldest brother and the others are discussing not going to work. Why should they? Didn't my second and third sisters-in-law go to work when they were pregnant?"

Before Zhou's mother could speak, "Tsk tsk tsk, good, good, Zhou Mingjiao, I see you don't want me to apologize, you just can't stand me and your sister-in-law, right?"

"Alright, let's have a serious talk today. Putting aside the rest of the family, Zhou Mingjiao, you are the least qualified to say this. Since you were born, have you ever worked in the fields, cooked a meal, or done anything? All you ever do is eat well and dress well. The whole family has to tighten our belts to support you. Aren't you the ancestor of our whole family? Even the young lady doesn't get this kind of treatment, does she?"

"Shut up!" Zhou's father, who had been invisible all along, shouted. "Is this something you can talk about? Are you trying to kill our whole family? That's your own sister, not your enemy. Your mother and I only have one daughter. What's wrong with spoiling her? She's not eating or drinking your food."

"Yes, you can spoil her if you want, it's none of my business. We're all the same people, why should she be treated like royalty? I can't do that."

Zhou's father raised his palm, and Zhou Mingqian deliberately stepped forward, saying quickly, "So what if my wife doesn't work? My grandparents left me a lot of things back then, isn't that enough? Grandpa and Grandma, I miss you so much."

When his deceased parents were mentioned, Zhou's father fell silent.

Thinking of how they had always worried about their eldest son even after their deaths, a sudden pang of sadness struck me, and I couldn't bring myself to lower my raised hand.

"Alright, if you're not going, then don't. You've got enough work points at home, so just stay home and cook," he said to Zhou's mother.

Zhou's mother nodded, although she still didn't quite agree, since in her opinion, pregnancy wasn't a big deal.

The rest of the Zhou family felt quite uncomfortable, especially the second and third sons' wives.

The second son's wife felt guilty for having given birth to three daughters. She was practically invisible at home, with little presence, and dared not voice her dissatisfaction.

As for the third son's wife, her family was a pig butcher. If it weren't for the fact that the third son was good-looking, she would never have married into the family.

Even though she was pregnant, she still went to work, even if it was just cutting pig feed, but that still earned her work points.

She was a straightforward person, saying, "Dad, this isn't fair! I earned work points when I was pregnant, so why can't my sister-in-law?"
