Chapter 3 You will always be my most beloved younger brother

Anyone who didn't know better would think they were celebrating his second spring in love.

Led by Zhou Jiahe, they tried their best to recall all the sad things in their lives before they could burst out laughing.

Qin Xu opened the car door for her and carefully helped her sit in the back seat.

Neither of them noticed that such a simple action had been captured on camera.

Zhou Jiahe sent her a message, gossiping about what was going on between the two of them.

She had nothing to hide from Zhou Jiahe.

Qin Yue: As I told you before, I had a boyfriend in college, but we broke up later. That was him.

Qin Yue: I'm in the car right now. We can talk next time we meet. I'm going to take a nap.

Zhou Jiahe had to suppress her burning desire to know more.

She knew Qin Yue was prone to motion sickness.

Playing on your phone while you're carsick will only make you feel worse.

On her way home, Qin Yue closed her eyes to rest.

The driver belongs to the Qin family.

Fearing the driver would notice something amiss, Qin Xu dared not openly reveal his thoughts, and could only occasionally glance at the face of the person beside him.

He hadn't seen her in a long time.

No, it should be said that I haven't contacted her for a long time.

She went abroad back then.

Qin Xu always felt it was his fault. Every time he wanted to call her, he was afraid of offending her, so he could only restrain himself.

I send her a group message during holidays.

He could be happy for a long time just by hearing someone say "Happy New Year".

He wanted to ask her what was going on between her and Qi Jingchen, but he was also worried about upsetting her.

The Qin family lives in the city center.

The rush hour was over, and the road was clear.

About twenty minutes later, I reached the main road home.

Qin Xu glanced at the person breathing shallowly, suppressed the pounding in his heart, and said to the driver in a low voice, "Uncle Chen, let's take another detour around this area."

Once he got home, he could no longer be so close to her.

"Uncle Chen, let's go straight home." The person who had been resting with his eyes closed slowly opened them, his eyes clear and bright.

As she stepped onto the stairs, she heard the young man's restrained yet aggrieved voice behind her.

"Sister, are you still angry that I broke your heart back then?"

He was rejected at the time.

Unable to accept it immediately, he said many inappropriate things.

He completely denied all the kindness she had shown him.

In her past life, Qin Yue couldn't understand it even after thinking about it for many years.

The Qin family has never mistreated him. When the Qin family was in trouble, how could he be so heartless as to kick someone when they were down for the sake of an outsider?

He later said it was revenge against her.

What are they seeking revenge for?

Is he taking revenge on himself because he only ever saw him as a younger brother, not the love he wanted?

All the kindness the Qin family showed him seemed to have been a mistake.

In that case, it's better to lose it.

If you're in the entertainment industry and haven't learned to hide your emotions, then don't blame others for pulling you down from your pedestal and taking your place.

Qin Yue naturally knew what words could hurt a person the most.

Her eyes were filled with helplessness, but her gaze towards him was gentle and all-encompassing: "How could that be? Although those words were outrageous and made you seem heartless, you are my most beloved younger brother, so of course I will choose to forgive you."

Qin Xu felt a pang of pain in his heart, forcing a smile that was more painful than crying, and followed her words: "Yes, I was young and impetuous back then, and I spoke without thinking. I hope you can forgive me, sister. You're right, I will always be your brother, and we will always be family."

He dared not.

I dare not gamble anymore.

I gambled a few years ago and lost everything.

Qin's father and mother were still awake.

The two people in the living room breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing the noise from the doorway.

Qin's mother took her hand and led her to sit down on the sofa, affectionately tucking the stray hairs behind her daughter's ear.

“You just got back and haven’t even had time to adjust to the time difference. My daughter and I haven’t even had a proper chat. You’re dragging your tired body to some ridiculous welcome banquet. Wouldn’t it have been better to postpone it for a couple of days?”

She didn't know that Qin Xu had organized the dinner; she was just worried about her daughter's non-stop work.

Qin Xu noticed the weariness in Qin Yue's eyes and felt somewhat guilty.

It was his oversight.

I had planned to get together with some old friends, but he ruined everything with his loose tongue, and we didn't have a good time.

Listening to her mother's nagging, Qin Yue felt a lump in her throat.

After the Qin family fell apart, she rarely saw a smile on her mother's face, and how could she bear her own death?

Qin Yue rested her head on her mother's shoulder, wrapped her arms around her waist, and said in a coquettish and soft voice, "We're all old friends, so it's hard to refuse. I'll stay with you for the next few days, and I guarantee you'll get annoyed just seeing me."

Qin's father and mother's gazes fell on her, and only then did Qin Xu dare to gaze longingly at the face that haunted his dreams.

He sometimes thinks about it.

Why aren't he and Qin Yue siblings? That way, he won't have any inappropriate thoughts about her.

Why should he live in the Qin family and become her nominal younger brother, without even having a legitimate chance to pursue her?

As he was thinking this, a face that looked six-tenths like Qin Yue suddenly flashed into his mind.

The person who works at the same company as me and sweetly calls me "senior brother".

How wonderful it would be if her sister had the same status as her.

He then had no more reservations.

Urged on by her mother, Qin Yue went upstairs to rest.

After washing up, I was drying my hair with a towel when I heard a knock on the door.

She opened the door.

It's Qin Xu.

He was holding a glass of milk.

The person inside had just taken a shower, and the two were standing very close together.

The sweet aroma permeated everything.
