Chapter 9: Marriage between men and women is irrelevant

Ji Changying's face is a little pale now.

This person with thin arms and legs needs to be taken care of.

My supernatural powers have become much worse, and I am almost exhausted after just a short while.

Her face is a little pale.

"Don't be afraid, they are all bad people." Ji Fengshou saw that Ji Changying had a strange expression and thought she was scared, so he quickly comforted her.

"That's right, don't be afraid! I will kill anyone who dares to bully us with one punch!" Zhou waved his fist and vowed.

She didn't feel that her whole family was in prison any different from her previous life at home.

Ji Changchuan was also frightened. He held Ji Changying's hand tightly and said, "Don't be afraid."

"I'm fine, just a little sleepy. I want to sleep." Ji Changying yawned, looking a little sleepy.

Zhou quickly pulled the hay from the ground over and made a bed for him: "You sleep."

Ji Changying fell asleep immediately.

The entire county government office was in chaos all night.

Tianming is the day when the county magistrate takes people to the state capital to hand over taxes and grain.

But now, the county magistrate suddenly died.

It's no use calling a doctor.

Dead is dead, he broke his own neck.

Who would believe this if I told them?

What's even more strange is that Zhang Chang suddenly turned into a fool.

Even the doctor couldn't figure out what was wrong and just said it might be due to irritation.

The whole thing is full of weirdness.

Many people couldn't help but think of the retribution that the old lady mentioned last night.

Everyone in the county government office was frightened.

The two concubines wanted to see the county magistrate, but they were covered with their mouths and locked in the backyard and not allowed to come out.

The chief clerk and the registrar of the county government decided that this matter must not be spread!

At least it must not be known to the officials in the capital before the prisoner is handed over.

After all, their positions were obtained through illegal means and would not withstand investigation.

Thinking of this, both of them prayed in their hearts that Ji's people would be handed over quickly.

Fortunately, the wait wasn't too long.

The large group of exiles arrived in the morning.

Most of the officers were left outside the city to guard, while the escorting leader Zhang Ziwei and several of his men rushed to the county government office.

The chief clerk hurried to receive the two men, and before he had even finished his cup of tea, he urged them to take over.

"Boss, I'm afraid there's a problem here."

"That's fine. We just need to do our own thing and ignore everything else. You take people to take the roll call. Once we're sure there are enough people, we'll leave."

Zhang Ziwei lowered his eyes and spoke calmly.

His men felt relieved after hearing him say this.

The county yamen runners seemed to have gotten rid of some trouble. They quickly handed over the list and household registration and left in a hurry.

Zhang Ziwei glanced at them.

"Behave yourself! Once we're on the road, I point east and you can't go west. I'm letting you walk, but I won't let me rest! You know, it's normal for people to die on the road to exile. Keep your eyes open!"

The escorting officers educated them and then drove them out of the city.

Along the way, the streets on both sides of the county town were filled with people pointing and talking at them.

As soon as I arrived outside the city gate, I met people who came to see me off.

Zhou spotted her family from afar in the crowd and waved happily, "Mom! I'm here!"

Zhou's mother and elder brother both came and were very excited when they saw her.

There were quite a few people who came to see us off, and they all brought some things with them.

The officer frowned upon seeing this and said, "Stay put in place for a cup of tea!"

Upon hearing this, the crowd immediately rushed towards the family members they were saying goodbye to.

Ji Fengshou took Ji Changchuan and Ji Changying to pay their respects to his mother-in-law and brother-in-law.

Zhou was about to hug Zhou Qianshi when her eldest brother stopped her: "Stop! Little sister, you're too strong. Mother can't handle it."

Ji Changying looked at his uncle strangely.

Isn't it said that this strength is inherited from ancestors?

Shouldn’t grandma be the same?

"No one expected this to happen so suddenly. By the time we heard about it, you had already gone to the county government office. Your eldest brother and I asked around these past two days and only then learned that you were going to leave with Master Ji's family today, so we hurried over."

Zhou Qian sighed as she looked at Zhou's heartless appearance.

The eldest uncle Zhou An was a very strong man. He took off the bag on his shoulder and handed it to Ji Fengshou: "Brother-in-law, this is a little gift from us. You can use it on your journey."

Then he looked at Ji Changying and Ji Changchuan, stuffed the candies and snacks he bought into them, and touched their heads with a silly smile.

Ji Changying smiled back at her uncle.

Ji Mingxue's angry voice suddenly came from the side: "You are going too far!"

Ji Changying turned her head to look.

Not far away, Ji Mingxue was looking angrily at the woman opposite Ji Mingxuan.

Wang Pan'er's eyes were filled with tears and her face was filled with shame and anger that she could not hide.

She bit her lower lip and looked at Ji Mingxuan without giving in: "You should know the current situation. It's impossible for us to do this. It's better for both of us to break off the engagement now."

"People, it's important to know yourself. Do you really want to drag down my Pan'er after all this? Don't you look at yourself? A toad wants to eat swan meat? I advise you to give up this idea! Hand over the engagement letter now so we can part ways amicably."

Wang Paner's mother looked at Ji Mingxuan with disgust in her eyes.

Mrs. Hu sneered, "I didn't expect you were so good at being humble in the past. After all these years, I didn't realize that you're just a bunch of assholes, shiny on the outside, but rotten inside! Do you really think you're that precious?"

"Xuan'er, what do you say?"

Ji Mingxuan looked up at Wang Paner. She had tears in her eyes and looked at him with a mixture of anger and resentment.

Ji Mingxuan laughed at himself and said, "Mom, did you bring the engagement letter?"
