Chapter 47 I Have Already Fallen into the Abyss

Chapter 47 I Have Already Fallen into the Abyss

Thrown onto the bed, Wen Yanyu shrank into a ball in fright, just about to speak.

Fu Hanchuan leaned closer to him, his knee pressing between his legs, making it impossible for him to get out of bed.

The sudden turn of events left Wen Yanyu completely flustered, unable to comprehend what the other party was trying to do.

When Fu Hanchuan suddenly reached out and unbuttoned his clothes, Wen Yanyu's pupils shrank, and his voice changed in panic: "Fu Hanchuan, what are you doing?"

Fu Hanchuan's eyes turned slightly cold. He completely ignored him, turned the boy over, and ripped off the jacket on his body.

"No!!" Wen Yanyu struggled subconsciously, his fingertips swirling with a layer of gray mist from muscle memory, but he forcefully controlled himself to avoid hurting the person on his body with that thing, trying to break free with a clever move.

When her sleeves were pulled up, Wen Yanyu stopped struggling and froze on the bed, not daring to move at all.

The cold fingertips gently traced the hideous, raised scar.

"1, 2, 3, 4, 5... 21..."

After counting the number of scars on his arms, Fu Hanchuan finally looked up, his cold eyes revealing no emotion.

"Who did it?"

Fu Hanchuan asked softly.

Seemingly feeling the coldness of her exposed arm skin, Wen Yanyu buried her face in the blankets, clutching her abdomen tightly with one hand, her body trembling uncontrollably.

Fu Hanchuan's gaze was deep and unfathomable, and he remained unmoved.

“You’re terrified of pain, so you can’t bring yourself to do it at this depth. There’s no medical record of you in any hospital in China, and this scar couldn’t have been stitched up by a professional doctor.”

“You are a medical student, but anesthetics are regulated, and there is no evidence that you purchased them privately. If you stitched them yourself without anesthetics, you would bleed to death while you were in pain and fainting.”

"Wen Yanyu." Fu Hanchuan looked down at him, his tone cold: "I'll give you five minutes to tell me who did it. I don't want to get angry at you."

Time passed second by second.

The countdown has ended.

Wen Yanyu turned her head away, not daring to look at the man, her voice trembling: "I said no."

"Please, please stop asking..."

The mark hadn't faded, so even if he wanted to explain, he couldn't.

His body was restrained by a pair of strong arms, and he was flipped over. Fu Hanchuan pinched his cheeks and forced him to look up.

Meeting the man's eyes, which were blazing with anger, Wen Yanyu's eyelashes trembled wildly. She was terrified and wanted to explain herself, but no sound came out of her throat.

Looking at his expression, Fu Hanchuan suddenly laughed, a very cold laugh: "Wen Yanyu, you are really something. Apart from Fu Wenyuan, no one has ever been able to push me to this point."

Having already learned who Fu Wenyuan was from books and the internet, Wen Yanyu was so frightened that she dared not speak and looked at him helplessly.

The two stared at each other for a long time.

Fu Hanchuan lowered his eyelashes slightly and suddenly released him.

"Do you know that the car accident was something I planned myself, or rather... it was an ending I willingly accepted," the man said softly.

Wen Yanyu was stunned, her face turned pale, and she couldn't believe what she had heard.

Fu Hanchuan didn't care and said to himself, "The ending I chose for myself is to die on a rainy day on my way home after I have avenged myself."

"What a perfect ending."

Fu Hanchuan remained calm. "You know that my uncle is in love with my father, but you probably don't know that my father also likes my uncle."

Wen Yanyu's breath caught in his throat, and his pupils instinctively contracted.

Fu Hanchuan ignored Wen Yanyu's stunned expression and continued to tell the truth hidden beneath layers of lies.

“The family did not allow the existence of an adopted son and a biological son, so my father married my mother, a woman from another place. She did not speak the language, her family background was not low but not high either, she did not have much power, she was simple and naive, and she gave birth to me and my younger brother.”

"But after the marriage, my father fell in love with my mother, but it was too late. My mother found out about it. She had married my father for love."

"Because she loved my father, she loved my brother and me. But when she realized she had been fooled, she wanted to kill us. She wanted to escape, but my father imprisoned her at home."

“My uncle acted first. It was a summer night, and a fire was quietly lit. Actually, my mother had already discovered the gasoline in the house and the locked doors and windows.”

"I've noticed that too."

Fu Hanchuan chuckled softly, a chuckle devoid of any warmth, as he gently stroked the boy's eyes, which trembled with shock.

“My mother was filled with hatred. She knocked me unconscious and locked me in the bedroom, while she herself died in the fire while holding my younger brother. She was so foolish, so naive. She wanted everyone to fall into the abyss with her, thinking that this would bring retribution upon Fu Wenyuan.”

“My father’s room was the easiest to escape from. The three of us were in a high-rise building, and it was almost impossible to escape. She wanted the three of us to die together. She hoped that my father would avenge her, and that we would gamble our three lives for a fate where we all went to hell.”

His tone was soft and slow, his downcast eyes were filled with indifference, and his voice was as low and calm as ever, as if he were narrating someone else's story.

"But my will to survive was too strong. I was awakened by the burning pain and smoke of the flames. I climbed down from the sixth floor to the garden, dragging my broken leg, and slowly crawled out of the old house that was engulfed by flames."

“My mother succeeded. My father was burned half to death. After he found out that my uncle had started the fire, he went mad. He wanted to kill my uncle. He no longer loved him, but he was powerless to take revenge. So he entrusted this task to me.”

“My uncle swallowed up all of the Fu family’s businesses, and so, I went abroad to seek refuge with their last wishes.”

"Everyone knows what happened next." Fu Hanchuan sighed in a lamenting tone: "Back then, that child came back from abroad to avenge his parents, broke his enemy's legs, and made his enemy crawl out of the rebuilt old house bit by bit."

"I put him on trial, then pulled him out and put him in a mental hospital, where he suffered endless torment. He committed suicide. What a perfect revenge story."

Wen Yanyu's expression was blank, and he didn't say a word. These past events were not mentioned in the novel.

He only knew the male lead, Fu Hanchuan, a prodigy; he knew nothing about the background story that was only mentioned briefly.

There was a long silence.

Fu Hanchuan tilted his head slightly and laughed again, his eyes filled with a twisted gloom. He sighed softly, "Actually, I just lied to you."

"This is just the version used within the family."

What.

Wen Yanyu's eyes were blank.

Fu Hanchuan stared at him, his gray-blue eyes filled with sorrow, as if swallowed by an abyss. In an instant, all emotions vanished, and his eyes became heavy and dangerous.

“My father loved Fu Wenyuan until his death. He loved my mother, but he loved Fu Wenyuan even more, the man he grew up with.”

"After my mother found out, in order to prevent the news from leaking out and to prevent my mother from hurting the other person he loved, he imprisoned my mother."

"He refused my mother's request for a divorce, and he also refused her request to return to her hometown. Even my mother's maternal grandparents, who came from a foreign country eager to see her and take her home, died in a car accident."

"He and Fu Wenyuan together drove my mother insane and drove her and my younger brother to their deaths. He also told me not to hate Fu Wenyuan."

Fu Hanchuan spoke very slowly, as if he were telling a story, recounting it leisurely.

“He didn’t die from burns. I told Fu Wenyuan that my father loved my mother. I pretended to be naive and ignorant and told him with hatred that my father would take revenge. I catalyzed the conflict between the two of them step by step. I made Fu Wenyuan kill my father with his own hands.”

Under the dim moonlight, the man's pupils seemed to turn into an eerie deep blue, like an endless abyss, rippling with boundless despair.

In the abyss dwells evil spirits that have crawled out of hell, ready to exact revenge.

A chill rose from his tailbone, and Wen Yanyu shivered involuntarily. The familiar scent of the man once again filled his nostrils, bitter and cold.

Fu Hanchuan bent down, their eyes met, their breaths mingled, and the man's tone was terrifyingly gloomy, "During those years abroad, every time I woke up in the middle of the night, I would dream of that fire, I would dream of my mother, my brother."

“I listened to their screams over and over again, and heard them ask me, Fu Hanchuan, why aren’t you dead? Why are you still alive? Why aren’t you dead? You’re useless now. Come and join us. Why aren’t you dead?”

“I dream of my father in the hospital room. He looks into my eyes through the crack in the door, his eyes filled with despair and pain. He is pleading with me for help. He asks me, ‘I am your father. I love you so much. Why are you doing this to me?’”

“The Fu family used to care about interests and power. After I took power, I firmly controlled everything in my own hands. They called me a shark because I would tear apart anything I wanted. They also called me a mad dog because I was a mad dog with only power in my heart and eyes.”

“They’re right.” Fu Hanchuan laughed. “But they can’t do anything to me. Nobody can touch my things, so after a while, they all want me dead.”

"Just what I wanted." Fu Hanchuan's eyes were full of pleasure.

"So I chose my own ending. I knew someone had touched my brakes, and as I expected, my car broke down. I lay in the car and quietly waited to die."

His fingertips trembled uncontrollably as Wen Yanyu stared blankly at the man on top of him. The Fu Hanchuan before him, calmly collapsing and swallowed by the abyss, was not the person he knew.

It's not the male protagonist in the book either.

He should be afraid.

But……

His heart was throbbing with a sharp, piercing pain, an inexplicable heartache that left him speechless.

"I've done everything I was supposed to do. Nobody wants me to keep living. I think this ending isn't so bad."

Fu Hanchuan looked down at him.

But you came.
