A Dog's Perspective on Our Encounter (Bonus Chapter)

A Dog's Perspective on Our Encounter (Bonus Chapter)

It was a rainy night.

On my way home, the car window was half open, and rainwater fell into my car. It was dirty and cold.

The raindrops splashed down, and the icy touch seeped into my bones from the damp fabric. The chill spread to every cell in my body, but I was numb to it all.

It doesn't matter anymore.

Because I'm about to die.

I will walk towards freedom.

Perhaps it was a prelude to my death. On my way home in the rainy night, there were no vehicles or pedestrians, and I had turned off the alarm system. My death would not be discovered.

I lit a cigarette, letting the bitterness spread in my mouth.

The wind whistled in my ears.

I heard my mother's voice.

She said, "Baby, Mommy's here to take you home."

I heard my younger brother's voice.

He babbled incoherently, "Brother Ge, hug, hug my duck."

I heard their voices again.

"Fu Hanchuan! Why aren't you dead! Why are you still alive! Fu Hanchuan! Your body is stained with sinful blood! You are just like your father! Fu Hanchuan! Why won't you die!!!"

Those curses that had accompanied me for decades shattered my last shred of illusion.

The cigarette went out.

I lay in blood.

Looking at the unseen sky.

I think.

Mom, I'm free.

I will never suffer again.

I'm so tired.

Consciousness sank into darkness.

I will run towards freedom.

Suddenly, I heard an unfamiliar voice.

Someone is crying.

I turned back in the darkness.

I opened my eyes again.

I saw an unfamiliar face. His hair and eyes were jet black and bright, his skin was fair without any blemishes, and his eyes were bright, like a student who had just come out of school, innocent and beautiful.

He knelt beside me, his umbrella lying to the side.

My car seems to be on fire.

I don't know how he got me out of the car.

In short, it will definitely be very difficult.

I'm thinking.

who is he.

Who sent them?

I watched as his hands trembled so much he could barely hold the phone, yet he still managed to treat the bleeding wound on my leg. He flagged down a car on the street, without offering anything in return.

He let me lean on his lap, and he held the umbrella over me completely.

The rain stopped falling on my face.

But he was soaked to the bone, and he was so thin that he looked like a little rabbit drenched in the rain, looking disheveled and pitiful.

He kept telling me those ridiculously childish stories, and he sang me off-key nursery rhymes.

To cheer me up, he told me his name was Wen Yanyu.

He held my hand and breathed on it, but to be honest, I didn't feel much better.

But his hands were warm.

I can no longer open my eyes.

So tired.

I heard him crying.

He told me I had to live.

He said that as long as I survived, he would tell me the rest of the story of the little rabbit and the little dog.

I couldn't help but laugh.

We are complete strangers.

Why are you crying for me?

How silly.

Just like the little rabbit in the story.

My consciousness sank into darkness once more.

He was still crying.

Don't cry.

It's not worth it.

The rain was blocked by the umbrella held up by the little rabbit, but I felt something sliding down my face.

I'm wondering what that is.

It is rainwater that has not dried up.

They are the little rabbit's tears.

still.

My tears.

I can't tell the difference.

But I think...

I think I might want to live.

If I can wake up again.

Tell me those stories again.

Little rabbit.

………………

Sunset.

The little rabbit asked the little dog, "Where do we go next?"

The puppy said it didn't know.

The little rabbit said, "I don't know where it is!"

"The puppy said it's a place where little rabbits live."

My little rabbit and I sat on a bench by the lake.

He started telling those childish fairy tales again.

I think.

Listening to this for a lifetime wouldn't be bad.
