The sky was overcast, and fine rain fell continuously, filling the air with the damp smell of earth and the moist scent of rain.
A black Maybach came to a smooth stop in front of the hospital. The first person to get out quickly opened a large black umbrella and respectfully opened the rear door.
A tall figure emerged from the crowd. The man wore a black overcoat, had gray-blue eyes, deep-set features, a high nose, and thin lips, exuding an aggressive aura that drew attention simply by standing there.
The person next to him immediately raised his arm and held the umbrella over the man's head, as if afraid that the man would get wet even a little bit.
Reporters who had been waiting outside the hospital swarmed forward like a tide, with countless microphones and cameras pointed at Fu Hanchuan.
The lead reporter, fearing the man might not hear her, shouted at him, "What is your opinion on Wen Yanyu's suicide because she was rejected by you?"
"Mr. Fu, why don't you respond to Wen Yanyu's high-profile declarations of love for you online? Do you already have someone else in your heart?"
"Mr. Fu! Did you come back from abroad specifically to visit Wen Yanyu after hearing the news? Do you also have feelings for Wen Yanyu, as rumored online?"
"Mr. Fu, is it possible for you to be with Wen Yanyu in the future?"
A large group of reporters chattered excitedly, their faces full of anticipation, eager to get some inside information from the person involved.
Faced with this barrage of questions, Fu Hanchuan frowned.
"I have no lover, I have no feelings for Wen Yanyu, there is no possibility between us, and I will never fall in love with him in this lifetime."
The voice paused, Fu Hanchuan turned his head, his eyes dark and gloomy, and swept over the group of frenzied reporters, his voice icy and piercing: "But this is not a reason for you to stand here and try to surround a patient."
The man deliberately slowed down his speech, making each word clear and forceful enough to reach everyone's ears.
The blatant loathing in his grey-blue eyes, directed at no one in particular, was expressed without reservation.
The reporters were all stunned.
After answering the question, Fu Hanchuan and his bodyguard entered the hospital without looking back.
The smell of disinfectant filled the air, and several nurses chatted idly in the corridor.
"Is that Wen Yanyu in there? She's even prettier than she is online."
"What's the use of being good-looking? He's just a simp, always clinging to that woman from the Fu family. When he was rejected, he even tried to commit suicide. Tsk tsk tsk, he's just ruining his future by being so stubborn."
"I don't understand these young people. Is it really worth it to be so obsessed with love and romance? Luckily, those experts came, otherwise it would be hard to say."
Inside the room, Wen Yanyu leaned against the hospital bed, her long, messy black hair cascading down her back.
Listening to the nurses' chatter outside the corridor, Wen Yanyu stared blankly, blinked her dry eyes slowly, and finally unlocked her phone after a long while.
Suddenly, it became quiet outside the door.
Wen Yanyu was only focused on checking the time.
"Wen Yanyu." A chilling voice entered my ears.
Wen Yanyu subconsciously turned her head, only to meet a pair of angry eyes.
He was stunned, "Fu... Hanchuan?"
Some uncertain words.
The words Fu Hanchuan wanted to say were stuck in his throat the moment he entered the room, and he swallowed them back down.
The boy on the hospital bed had striking features, with a red beauty mark under his eye that looked like a drop of blood. Half of his originally jet-black hair had turned as white as snow, with strands standing out starkly against the black background.
The cold white light in the ward shone on him, giving him an inexplicable sense of ethereal transparency, as if he might disappear from the world at any moment.
The look, which should have seemed somewhat unconventional, appeared incredibly fragile against that extremely pale face.
The gaze that came from above was unreal and blank, and the deathly aura that unconsciously emanated from it made one's heart tremble at just one glance.
Fu Hanchuan avoided the other person's gaze, his voice barely containing his barely suppressed anger: "Don't try to disgust me like this. I will not be with you."
"The only person you can hurt is yourself."
Wen Yanyu simply gave the man a blank "hmm" and then sat there in a daze without saying anything more.
A deathly silence permeated the air.
Fu Hanchuan pursed his lips and said again, "Wen Yanyu, don't cause me any more trouble."
Wen Yanyu lowered her head: "I know, it won't happen again."
"What happened before was my fault, I'm sorry for causing you trouble."
Seeing that the other party agreed so readily, Fu Hanchuan calmed down and added, "I will find someone to take care of your follow-up treatment, but this will only be once. After that, the two of us will have no relationship other than work."
"I will never fall in love with you in this lifetime, so don't have any unrealistic fantasies."
Wen Yanyu lowered his head and did not answer.
Thinking to himself, Fu Hanchuan's eyes darkened slightly, and he casually added, "Wen Yanyu, I only tolerated it before because we had a good relationship."
“But if you remain stubborn,” Fu Hanchuan paused, then said slowly, “you won’t want to know my methods.”
Wen Yanyu gave a soft "hmm" and kept her head down. "Don't worry, those things from before... won't happen again. This matter has nothing to do with you. They misunderstood. I won't bother you anymore."
Wen Yanyu looked up at him: "If I bother you again..."
He blinked slowly, as if looking at the person in front of him, but it was as if he wasn't looking at anything at all, only emptiness and lifelessness.
"You can kill me or let me die, it's up to you." Wen Yanyu's expression was calm and composed, as if he were discussing the weather.
The air suddenly became quiet.
Fu Hanchuan stared at Wen Yanyu for a long time before letting out a cold laugh.
He succinctly uttered a few words: "I hope you keep your word."
Surrounded by bodyguards, Wen Yanyu walked out of the hospital and, seeing a group of reporters outside, took the initiative to go forward.
Fu Hanchuan noticed Wen Yanyu's actions and stopped him, his tone very unpleasant: "What are you trying to do now?"
Wen Yanyu was stunned for a second, then pulled her hat down a little tighter. "I'll go and explain to them that this has nothing to do with you. I know I've caused you trouble. There are reporters here right now, so I'll go clarify things."
Fu Hanchuan was stunned.
Wen Yanyu had already walked up to the reporter.
The previously noisy reporters quieted down after hearing the two's conversation, and just as someone was about to speak...
Wen Yanyu manually adjusted the microphone handed to her by the reporter, "Hello, I am Wen Yanyu, and I would like to clarify something."
"My disappearance and hospitalization this time was not because of Mr. Fu, but because of my own private matter. I would like to thank the girls who called the police for me that day."
"But this matter really has nothing to do with Mr. Fu. Don't morally blackmail him. He has no obligation to care about me. I was shameless in trying to take advantage of him before, which is why those things happened online."
“Mr. Fu is a very, very good person. He has helped me a lot. I don’t like Mr. Fu anymore, and I will not do those things again.”
Rain lashed his face, making Wen Yanyu pale. He pulled his coat tighter around himself and earnestly explained to the stunned reporters in front of him.
"I hope everyone will stop dragging him into this. If you want to criticize or attack, please look for Wen Yanyu. I accept all opinions, but please don't involve Fu Hanchuan or any other innocent people."
After she finished speaking, the entire room fell silent, and Wen Yanyu handed the microphone back to the reporter.
Wen Yanyu walked back to the bodyguards and said, "Thank you for taking me home."
Fu Hanchuan pursed his lips, glancing with a complex expression at Wen Yanyu, who was trying to hide her white hair under her hat and was wearing a coat, but whose thinness was still quite noticeable. He then turned to the driver and said, "Let's go."
