Yunhe is still alive!
Upon seeing Yunhe appear, Qian Youxue exhaled a breath of stale air. She took several deep breaths, trying to speak, but no sound came out of her throat.
What the hell did those damn bastards put on her?
She looked pleadingly at her grandmother, whose face was full of heartache, and tried to lift her hand with difficulty, but she couldn't muster any strength at all.
“Mother, please don’t stop her this time. She has brought shame to the Qian family.” Qian Sheng was furious at the thought of losing face in front of his colleagues because of this, and spoke up before his mother could.
Bang!
As soon as the old lady brought down her silver cane, the room fell silent. Qian Sheng's mouth was agape in shock.
"Are you blind? Didn't you see that Youxue was drugged and tricked? Instead of seeking justice, you, as her father, are punishing her? You're supposed to be the prime minister of a country, yet you can't even handle your own family affairs. How can you assist the emperor in managing national affairs?" She pointed her silver cane at Qiansheng, who was standing to the side. She couldn't understand why a father would always try to pin the blame on his own daughter.
“Mother, if she were pure of heart, how could she have fallen for someone’s tricks?” Qian Sheng retorted, regaining his senses.
“Yes, you’re right. But this poetry gathering wasn’t something Youxue went to on her own initiative; it was your precious fourth daughter who begged her to go. If she hadn’t interfered, why would Youxue have gone to that awful place and suffered like this?” The old lady was sharp-witted and discerning; she had long had people keeping an eye on Xueyuan Garden, and she knew exactly who had been there.
She thought that Yingxue had reformed, but unexpectedly she was trampling on Youxue to death. As a result, she hated Yingxue even more. She turned her head and swung her silver staff at Yingxue.
"Please have mercy, Madam! Please have mercy!" Aunt Liu saw the silver cane about to hit Qian Yingxue's forehead and disregarded her own safety to step forward and block it.
The old lady wouldn't give Liu any face. Even when Liu tried to block her, she still struck her with the silver cane.
The force of the blow didn't knock Aunt Liu unconscious, but it left a sizable bloody hole on her head. Qian Sheng was heartbroken at the sight, and it terrified Qian Yingxue, who had originally hoped to gain an advantage.
"Quick, quick, find a doctor! Find a doctor!" Qian Sheng shouted as he helped Aunt Liu up.
Waaah...
With a hole in his forehead, he's probably going to be disfigured.
Although she has gained a lot of weight after having two children over the years, her appearance is still good. If she were to be disfigured, wouldn't that be a good thing for that vixen from the Lan family?
Aunt Liu felt incredibly aggrieved and glared fiercely at Qian Yingxue.
Unexpectedly, the old lady slammed her silver cane to the ground again, her angry voice rising once more: "You insolent thing, is a concubine more precious than the eldest daughter of the Qian family?"
Qian Sheng paused, staring blankly at his mother, not understanding her intentions for a moment.
Granny Chen, however, was quick-witted. She winked at Qian Sheng and said, "Miss seems to be in serious condition. We need to call two doctors."
"Did you hear what Granny Chen said? Hurry up and go!" Seeing that there was a way out, Qian Sheng urged his servants to ask the doctor for a consultation.
With Granny Chen speaking up, the old lady's anger subsided slightly. But seeing Youxue's appearance, she couldn't hide the heartache in her eyes.
“Mother, Youxue is probably seriously injured this time. Why don’t we let your daughter-in-law take care of her?” Madam Su, who had been silent all along, said something surprising, which immediately attracted everyone’s attention.
The old lady was pleased that Madam Su was taking on the responsibility of caring for Youxue, but she was also worried that she wouldn't treat Youxue well. So she made it clear beforehand: "Alright, you've been neglecting Youxue for so long, it's time to make it up to her. However, let me make this clear: if Youxue suffers any more harm, don't blame me for being ruthless."
